Can we talk about how COOL that dad is though? Like he was invested enough in something his daughter was interested in to go all the way through the legal route.
it's very common in most legal contracts to the point that most companies include the clause for any employees that are hired on. There are ways to get around it, of course, but in the end an out-of-court settlement is almost always better for the defendant. The prosecution still tends to do well, but other affected parties/long-lasting systems end up untouched. there are, obviously, good reasons for it. it does tend to be used for mostly insidious purposes and should be concerning in a product/service while lacking proper reason to exist.
as someone who got banned for 183 days for "hacking for robux," when i really was getting robux and the purchase failed, still got banned, roblox has probably the worst moderation of all games. edit 2 months later, it STILL spent the money and i didnt get anything so i wasted 10 dollars and then got banned for 6 months.
@@Coney_ConeheadBuddy of mine used his credit building debit card that he has to add money to use it from his debit card. He forgot to add money and tried buying robux, it declined, he then added money and bought the robux only to find a little bit later he had been banned for half a damn year. Asks for a refund and they decline so he performs a charge back and within a day gets another notice telling him he's been banned permanently. Absolute abhorrent customer service
I love seeing Roblox lose a lot of money, but it’s upsetting to see how much money Roblox puts into their law team compared to the moderation team. Keep doing Roblox’s work for them Ruben, your a true hero for this platform
I think that the worse is that they didn't even fully refund the money stolen, it was 21k and they paid 10k. And even then you can have Robuxs gone from your account without doing transactions
Roblox during the beginning was caring for their users (maybe not much but so much better than right now) though now it's just leave them in the dust with NOTHING...
With the fact that over half of Roblox’s active Users are under 13 I’m abhorrently shocked that Roblox wasn’t sued by the federal government for COPPA related issues, much like RU-vid was.
coppa is just privacy and ad laws, they have had issues though. I'm pretty sure website ads (to other websites) were removed from the site altogether because of coppa, and roblox ads are also hidden now for users under 13. This is probably why they are trying to push in-game ads and portals to bypass these laws and advertise to kids
It's definately larger than that much larger if you had common sense, this data is gathered from the age they put on their accounts when signing up and GUESS WHO LIES ABOUT THEIR AGES ALOT: KIDS
@thecoolcarhd4402 those videos still exist they just mark them as "not for kids" to make money (obviously the audience is kids tho), bad people will continue to bypass rules ofc and make new accounts if terminated

Using the tennis analogy to simplify the legal process not just for us fools who haven't been sue'd by multimillion dollar companies, but so that even kids could possibly understand it too. your great rueben
The part where a Roblox mod said that they have to meet an account ban quota by ultimately deleting people's accounts who have done nothing wrong should be absolutely illegal. You spend well enough over $100 dollars on Roblox and they have the decision to ban you just so that they can meet a quota instead of targeting anybody obviously doing anything against the account safety ToS. I really do hope that this has already been something resolved, or its gonna be another probable court case willing to happen. Maybe this is the reason why my friend got banned for /e dance of all things, too. (Edit) I forgot to mention that it mainly happens with items too.
yes. he literally got banned for 1 day because /e dance. he even sent me a screenshot on the roblox app in which you cannot inspect and change the text. i know, its absolutely stupid, @@-starrydawn-.
insane that roblox knows the danger of being sued and have an actual legal team, a great one at that, instead of considering the option to spend the time and money on actually avoiding being sued in the first place
no any large corporations would ofc have top class lawyers , once you are a celebrity you would have a lawyer to help out with any of the stupid lawsuits your getting in , same applies to large corporations
It’s funny how Roblox never learns from their mistakes and when they DO actually do something the community wants like the Refund Program, it’s either taken away or is so bad it’s nonexistent
by the end of the time i played, i did receive my robux back. well at least got refunded what got deleted since the new refund system it does work fine enough
I recently bought an item called an ink head only 75 robux but it was approved for a day, then i log back in the next day and its removed from my account with no refund so I contact the community support which I have to say is the worst ive ever contacted. They had no interest of giving me a refund or even reading what I was saying they kept saying "im sorry if you didnt like the item you purchase however you will not be able to get a refund" even though I essentially just lost 75 robux for nothing, if its happening to me im sure its happening to so many other people, I don't understand how they are allowed to do this its deception.
Omg I checked my Roblox and got an email from Roblox stating an item that cost 85 robux was deleted and I got my Robux back! I wax one of those victims!!! So that means this story is REAL
4:07 to be fair I've had Roblox for years now, most of my items now have been deleted and was around £100 all together, I keep getting notifications even now saying my items will be refunded to my account, but nothing is ever refunded, even when talking to customer support. Deleting the clothes AFTER moderation is just stupid and seems like a way to get more money
I think that the most badass think about Ruben is that he was barred from ever making an account on Roblox again and he still exposes Roblox without even being on the platform. Keep it up Ruben!
Ruben is a true hero for standing up against the greed of Roblox. It's inspiring to see someone fight for the young player base and protect them from inappropriate content. Thank you, Ruben.
i dont think you watched his recent video. you cant just assume people bought their account with no evidience. I know its very common but atleast make sure before assuming?
Funny story, when i was 7 i had this pair of shorts with striped socks on roblox. It got deleted about every 2 months and i kept buying it until i was 9🤦🏼♀️ I never got refunded for it and to this day i still wonder how it was breaking tos😂
@@grumpykitten4566It was just a way for Robux to get money. They delete items that don’t harm the ToS, or Privacy Policy, so they got to get more money, but forcing people to buy other versions of those clothes.

I honestly find Ruben sim so fascinating, he loved Roblox, but they didn't like him, yet he still tries to defend the young player base from disgusting 18+ shit. Oh man, i knew Roblox was corrupted to hell and back, but seriously? Content deletion quota? Banning users for no reason just to reach a quota? Bloody hell, both pretty much open them for class action lawsuits so here's hoping more people do this.
Just made a comment about that and i really do hope it has already been resolved and hope it'll never happen again. if its still an ongoing thing, then i hope that the thing i said about a court case happens.
Quotas are established usually to make sure people are actually doing their jobs. ROBLOX has a rough idea of how many rules are broken in any given week, so the quotas are set based on that. This brings about a disturbing moral dilemma; that the moderation team is bad at their jobs and just banning people for no reason just to meet quota or the quotas are unreasonable or both. But think about this again: In order to meet quota, the moderation team would have had to target random kids on their platform and subject them to moderation all so they could keep their jobs. If you have to ban indiscriminately because you don't know what you're supposed to look for is arguably more damning than actually setting the quota itself. If any of roblox's moderation team is reading this: pound sand and quit your job.
@@Horible4Damn, I hate automated mideration systems because it screws you up (or trolls screw you up) and then you need to plead your case to another robot. But having humans moderate under quotas is sick, did they get bonuses for banning more too.
This must’ve happened years ago, as I’ve been refunded for every item that has been removed from use, it shows as content deleted then goes away once the refund is given, it’s been like this for at least 2 years now
"Nice, that's a lot of money" Like I'm sure he was a great guy but I think it's really cringe how people are saying his death caused the downfall of roblox when most likely he just happened to die BEFORE the downfall, which would have happened either way.
It works for them financially, they have the money to just pay off basically any legal lissue. Doing barely anything works for them to soak in massive profit while spending barely any of it. It is completely disgusting, and many other greedy companies do the same thing because it works. Truly, a great world we live in.
For me, my items get deleted. How, you might ask? Instead of just deleting the item and giving me a refund, my items have just been content deleted. So no refund.
It doesn't matter if you "Agreed to TOS!" committing robbery of $100 worth of robux would straight piss me off as well. If moderation approved it in the beginning and now decided to take it down, there is no reason why you shouldn't be refunded of your robux.

Not true. Every company needs to make money if they want to stay afloat. Some companies just use unethical methods to make that money, take Roblox for example. You could still sue Roblox, ToS are rarely and very hard to enforce because they are deliberately designed to be hard for the average user to read, fail to include everything, and often are only "agreed" to after the product is bought or a account is made. law student here. not happening unless hes under 18 or meets a number of circumstances. ROBLOX, like most companies, puts an arbitraion clause in their terms and conditions. arbitration clauses forbid you from going to a court. instead you must go to a neutral third party "arbitror" or mediator.
