Awesome! We have started our little farm 10 months ago. A lot to learn 😅 It’s coming along well I suppose. We have 4 Duroc hogs, 2 Julianna pigs (piglets any day now), 2 potbelly pigs, 41 New Zealand/Californian rabbits, 90ish quail, 24 laying hens, 20 broilers, 3 ducks, sadly 1 Guinea left, a few roosters, 3 honey bee hives 🥵, 3 Anatolian shepherd and 1 Pyrenees female and she had puppies! So now we have Anatolian Pyrenees pups (4, we lost 2 😢). We had 19 goats, Nigerian dwarf, Nubian, and Pygmy, we decided to sell them because we lost two to barber pole and neither one of us are home until late and things take a turn pretty quick (we both work 14 hr days currently) momma takes care of and homeschools the 3 kiddos. I love my momma ❤. The kiddo’s personality take care of and sell: Holland lop bunnies 1 buck, 1 doe Lionhead bunnies 1 buck, 2 doe Mini Rex bunnies 1 buck, 2 doe Hedgehog 1 male, 1 female Technically the potbelly pigs are theirs. They breed and sell these for some pocket change and to keep the supplies rolling in for those. They even “broke away” from me and mommy 😂😂 started their own farm with a different name 😆 they are 12,9,5. Silly kiddos! They took a $600 loan out from me and mommy “Hey Daddy, we need to borrow some money to start a farm at the back of the property” LOL!!! Anyway we bit off a little more than we could chew but we got it down to manageable after the goats were sold. I had to make a decision and didn’t want them all to suffer because I wanted to be selfish. All of the animals currently are healthy and happy…. And the kiddos haha… so everything is going well here. My biggest issue is fencing… always need more fencing!! I’m happy to see y’all doing this too. I wish I would had started in my early 20s instead of my early 30s (I did work out of state until 1-1/2 ago so anyway) I’m going to follow y’all and hopefully see more going on. I don’t have social media platforms aside from RU-vid but I’ll see what I see when you post here. Stay safe!
Enjoyed your video - we have quite a few homesteading friends down in Louisiana - in fact we went to a meet-up (Bayou Bash) in 2019 hoping this year they'll have it again !!
