I REALLY wish it was part of frontlines.

It’s fundamentally more frustrating and complex than frontlines in such a casual pvp environment. I’ve done hundreds of RW and a handful of players piloting the mechs/going for objectives can carry the game, while the rest doesn’t know what’s even happening. Similarly and with how soaring works in conjunction with the 6.1 pvp rework, snowballing can go very hard with a single premade. Much more so than in frontlines because 1v1v1 means that 2 can go against 1 (and that’s what often happens), and the strong node rng of pretty much every map can very easily tip the scales. I still hope that they’ll effectively do what they said when they mentioned wanting to rework RW. Because as it is, aside from treasure trove and the RW discord events there are not many games, which is a shame because the mode is fun and strategic.

frontlines is so lame compared to this, this is actually unique and not just huge teamfights thatre chaotic asf

time to hop servers apparently xD that sucks though :c I've been having a really good time using it to farm moogle tomes. Thanks to this event I also finally leveled up my series malmstones enough to get the mount! I probably would've missed out otherwise because the other pvp modes just drain me at this point.... im so bored of them >.

Outside of the moogle events it's pretty dead because it's not part of Frontline so there is a lack of good rewards and thus a lack of reason for people to do it. It is pretty fun though.

AST is def not great for rival wings because unless you're in a group with friends, you probably won't be sticking together with your team so there's no one to buff. Jobs with cc or DPS power are better for sure. Your team's skill definitely matters for the outcome of win or lose xD As for the HUD I just use the same one I always have on, but being able to see things like the tower health, mercenary spawn timer, your party's ce, and the train timer easily could be really helpful since those are all things you want to be keeping track of.

Ugh because they're married to the grand company system with 3 pvp teams 🙄. I wish they'd add this to pvp roulette :c

yeah i was just blown away with how bad frontline is in comparison it just makes you not want to try any other pvp modes if this is the one they think is worth pushing lol@@Aitherea

It is usually because it's not tied to roulette, but right now with the moogle tomestone event the queue is like 5mins

Google says "Rival Wings can be unlocked from the level 30 quest Earning Your Wings from Softknox at Wolves' Den Pier X:5.7, Y:5.5; you will also need to have previously completed A Pup No Longer at your respective Grand Company."

Unfortunately, Rival Wings is not part of frontlines and there is very little incentive to do it. It tends to be pretty active during events like the Moogle Tomestone one which started yesterday, so this week and next week you'll probably be able to get into matches pretty easily. There are also some discord servers that plan days to do rival wings, i think they usually do it on the weekend. discord.gg/pvprevival

@@Aitherea Problem with that discord is that it requires phone number authentication which is an absurd requirement for just wanting to see Rival Wing queue schedule

Skill issue

can only go in with premades of 4 so I'm not sure how much that would affect it. Sometimes the RNG gods are just awful :c Ive had losing streaks like that before too and it's painful.

There's a train that does good things for your team if you win. You have to stand on the raised platform until the gauge is full. If the other team is there you have to pvp them for it. If not, you can literally just stand on the platform till the gauge fills up.
