In this episode, I visit Dzanga Bai, within the Dzanga Sangha national park. This natural place is a haven for wild forest elephant, who come here to dig for mineral rich soil. This is hands down the best place in the world to watch forest elephant in the wild and I can't believe I'm the only visitor there...

@@ronald8673 Noraly said, probably because the rangers knew, it was tired and wanting a nap. They do sleep standing up, as well as lying down. Others kept trying to interact with it, and mom was probably telling them to leave the baby alone. It looks like, when baby wanted to flat out lie down and sleep deeply, mom said that was not the place for it. Too bad they can't sling the infant over their shoulder like we can. :D

That was in 2014, when christian militias descended on muslims, killed them and ate them. Most Africans know those details and pray that the animosity in that country will end.

While I was in the US Navy, I had the opportunity to visit Mombasa Kenya in November 1979, just after the American Embassy was overrun in Tehran, Iran. While in Mombasa i signed up for a one-day safari through Tsavo National Park. Elephants, Lions and other big cats were on my list of animals I wanted to see. What I saw was herds of Zebra, Giraffe, Warthogs, Ostriches, one huge Buffalo, and a few other antelope type animals, large and small. No Lions, Leopards, or Cheetahs. Finally, as we were preparing to return to Mombasa, we saw two Elephants but, they were being driven along by a caretaker. Oh, I almost forgot about the Baboons. Some even entered our open top safari vehicle. That was after lunch, and we were headed back out into the Serengeti. A wonderful day seeing the animals we did get to see. Upon leaving Mombasa our battle group was ordered closer to Iran where we spent most of 101 days going in circles before getting into port again in the Philippines.

I personally think that tourism would threaten this site and should be minimized. The infrastructure can't handle it, (roads, boats, etc). The people in the region need the roads for their own transportation of goods and services, and the government should be taxing the hell out of the timber and mining industry for their part in destroying the roads. Timber companies in the US have to pay a heavy road fee for hauling timber. I don't know if the quarries do, but they definitely should all be paying for the repair of the roads based on their heavy usage.

I am left with only about 60 ep. of S6. Currently I am up to date on S7, following your great, highly admirable journeys & incredible treks into the most inhospitable places on Earth. I now watch your videos only on my large screen Sony 4K tv. Your videos comes out magnificently on a full screen (with tks to your professional quality recordind equipment). As a bonus, I output the audio to my Yamaha AV amplifier [Never Miss A Sound]. I hear clearly every sound far & near as you recorded; even the sharp distinctive buzzling of a mosquito. I love the loud rumbling sound of your Honda Rally bike navigating all sorts of terrain through a subwooofer. All these in home comfort while you constantly endure mental & physical torture to bring to us the mystery of places, people, special events, etc Bless you Noraly with lots of love. From Stephen L. I Hope all the responsibles for the Tourism industry in Africa saw this. The Africa that all of us think of , since we were little kids . The Africa that the old ancestors of this extended continent lived and preserved. The Africa the belongs to them, the animals. It's part of our job to refuse any exotic wood came from tropical places. That should be legislated to avoid any damages to this sacred places. No more deflorestation. Thanks for sharing it Noraly. This must be a heart touching experience to remembering forever.

I think anyone can if they really want to. I have young kids and can’t at the moment, but I’m determined to, and while it will take years of planning, I am fully confident I’ll be able to sort it out. You can too (if you can put the money aside)!
