I felt bad for her as well . I have had 3 children and since then I emphasize with any female animal or human. Because labor was the worst pain I have ever experienced. I always feel bad for a animal because they do it completely natural and some are on the floor

My cat did that, too. She was constantly pestering me to rub her belly, and when I started to doze off (she went into labor in the middle of the night) she bit me on the nose! She decided that if she wasn't going to sleep, I wasn't going to sleep.

@@k_dee9168 No, but animals in zoos and aquariums often bond with their caretakers the same way pets bond with their owners. I really don't think she meant that otters were pets, just that Otsuyu trusted her caretaker to the point that she wanted her nearby during a time that was very stressful and frightening.

I felt the same way. I worked in OB/GYN for 28 yrs but never saw the delivery of a precious otter.👍😘

Watching her chew on her paws was hard to watch...so much pain.

Me too! It broke my heart for her. I have had natural childbirth without the epidural and one with. So I know the difference! She definitely deserved the epidural with her pain level.

That was stressful, seeing Otsuyu suffer like that. I wanted to be there to comfort her, too! Poor baby. She did so beautifully!

Никогда бы не подумала, что они так же тяжело рожают. У меня была мелкая, приблудившаяся собака, узнали, что родила уже по опавшему животу. Ни звука не слышали, ни писка, ни какого-либо движения., Полезли в её место, а там два очаровательных ребенка.

I’m not looking to start any kind of an argument here but your statement is just a flat out lie. I’d rather it wasn’t and we could agree but unfortunately, there are more than enough bad mothers out there. What makes it worse? Humans. Judging by her behavior towards him so far, I am certain that won’t be a problem.

Aside from her fur-plucking neurosis, Otsuyu has been shown to be a good and attentive mother, better than most Small-Claws I've seen except Otter Latte (by far the best mama otter)

Forget it. Odashi is out of the picture. She still refuses to reconcile with her twin. OAGE-papa is the one who would help raise the pup in the wild and I hope here, like he couldn't with WasaMida.

@@Soufriere84 I wholeheartedly agree, Oage needs to co-parent this time. When Latte had her daughter with Dolce he was an immature father as noted by the owners, but he grew up and became a fantastic dad to Mocha. The three are a very close and loving otter family and both of Mocha's parents discipline her when warranted. I am praying that this will happen for Otsuyu, Oage and their pup AND that in the process their twin daughters will grow closer to their dad and they will be able to participate in their little brother's life. Oage definitely needs to co-parent this time; it may take time, but it needs to happen - his son needs to learn from dad too. 💕💕💕

@@Soufriere84 Absolutely! Odashi should probably not even be able to get near this baby until it can fend for itself. Her dislike for Otsuyu, and her own desire to have a baby, may cause her to kidnap again! Lol, sort of. There’s some truth in there, right? No, I would like to see Oage brought into the picture ASAP, so he can start learning how to be a father, and co-parenting partner right away. Odashi was not about to allow that to happen when the twins were born, and look how well that all worked out! Otsuyu and Oage have a second chance now, without Odashi in the mix, but I hope Loutre’s bring him in sooner rather than later.
