You can't win if your defense can't make a stop and your offense can't even get on the field, offense could not get in rhythm. Rodgers had nothing to do with this loss, that Jets defense looked horrible!
SA proves yet again he knows nothing about football. I guess he missed the fact the SF O-line blew the D-line off the ball and just out physical them. It wasn’t scheme, it was pure physicality. The difference in the game is SF ran the ball down the Jets throat and they couldn’t stop it.
your D line is getting blown out… why wouldn’t you stack the box and let Purdy try to beat you. Try anything except sit on your hands and watch the niners eat the clock and score.
Yeah but Saleh was the one who said we can stop the run whenever we want, we can shut it down anytime we want too then all game gets destroyed by the run so he's not wrong
I’m a jets fan and I just want to be competitive and make the playoffs. The media keeps stirring this narrative of SB or bust or you don’t get Aaron for anything other than a Super Bowl. They are talking and convincing themselves so much that this is the fan narrative even tho they are the ones who created it.
As a 49er Fan and season ticket holder I can say we over here in the Bay have known just how good Jordan Mason really is. He didn't just run through holes he made some sweet moves and pounded those Jets defenders onto the dirt. The Jets didn’t want any of him . That was obvious early .
Or it could just be that the 49ers are just a stacked team with good coaches. Plus RB is the one position where draft position doesn’t really matter unless u can also double as a wr/ol.
Stephen A' can't support his argument correctly. Belichick explained yesterday on PMS that Kyle Shanahan's offensive system is built on motions and reacting to the defense. Yes, Brock isn't doing many checks at the line like Peyton or even Brady in his prime, but they do run a lot of dummy motions early to get a sense of how the Jets react defensively, so it gets exposed later in the game. Saleh having a job there doesn't mean he's automatically supposed to know when they run that type of play.
Sorry, but he SHOULD, especially having PRACTICED AGAINST THE SHANAHAN OFFENSE for 4 years. Since you mentioned Belichick, do you think HE'D be confused by 'a lot of dummy motions'?
@@craigpridemore7566 because of your first sentence, I'd recommend you read more about the Shanahan system, because practicing against it doesn't make a significant difference. There are also wrinkles added in each season and before each game, dependent on personnel, but that's a separate topic (just focus on first sentence). Also, for your second sentence about Belichick, that's irrelevant for Stephen A's supporting sentence. Belichick doesn't have a formal defensive system (like the Cowboys, for example). That's why Michael Bennett spent one season up there and said, "It's like getting a PhD on defense".
@@Tomyohann. To add to your point, Saleh was practicing against Jimmy G and there was no Christian, no Aiyuk at this level, and Deebo had one of his better games in the past two years.
@@solomo3456 Nah they were in a life and death struggle with the Rams without Puca Lions are just a 10 or 11 win team and they still havent closed the gap with the 49ers
Yeah, you also can't just handwave Hackett. He's there because of Rodgers. Saleh's having to coach a team that Rodgers had a huge hand in building. That's not to say that he has no blame. But a lot of defenses are going to struggle if their offense is so poor that they can barely stay on the field to give that defense some rest.
@@zod548 His stats were very similar to Zach's start last year when he took over for Rodgers after he got injured. The main difference is that the Jets actually ended up beating the Bills.
Rodgers 100% has some rust but there were flashes. This loss is entirely on Saleh and the defense. They looked tired, confused, out schemed and outmatched. We all knew the offense wouldnt be perfect. The defense not making a single stop and being a dumpster fire wasnt expected.
Niners are the hardest test and the jets gotta put themselves together this season chemistry-wise. Give it time this game would've looked different if it was week 18 instead of week 1
@@craigpridemore7566Chiefs probably the only other team better than the 49ers (Ravens maybe as well) and they don’t play either of them this season so it’s fair to say there competition ain’t gonna be this tough week in week out and that they might actually half decent this year👀
You knew he didn't have the guts to blame Rodgers. Always bash Russell Wilson, Dak, Baker, Stafford, Lamar, Josh, Tua, Bridgewater, Daniel Jones, and Cousins but never holds Rodgers accountable at all.
Well, you guys traded for a guy that they knew wanted an extension that sure could have helped that defense. And y'all got crushed by the back up running back. I just don't understand how arrogant the Jets' front office can be when they haven't won since the late 60's.
@@xxquanbuchananxx360. Then why are people overrating him and this team? They should have been middle of the pack at best for rankings for a 40 year old with a reconstructed Achilles.
Here's the problem: Everybody up until game time, assumed CMC was going to play. The Jets should have been prepared for a serious run game, no matter who ran the ball.
It's so funny watching national media finally discover who JP Mason is. I love CMC, he's an all time great, but a lot of Niner fans have been begging for him to split more reps and actually spell CMC so he can be fresh late in the season. Last night is nothing we haven't seen before, we just would see it like 4-6 times a game instead of 28 times in a game.
@@dredagr848 That's fine but I could care less about who's in and who's out of the studio. Everybody's living comfortably. Just give me my post game analysis and I'll be on my way
Skip and Shannon together on Undisputed was infinitely better than this part-time, never-in-studio Shannon Sharpe on First Take. First Things First soon come.
Skip & Shannon were better together I agree, I miss their chemistry. it’s nice that Shannon is still doing debate shows though. First Things First is brilliant! My favorite sports show easily
😂They better sign Reddick because they’re in trouble, they aren’t beating the bills, patriots, or dolphins if that defense is that wide open. Sauce already banged up
You need to look up how many yards and touchdowns to int he threw in his last three years in Green Bay. If that’s washed the majority of the league is washed right now!!!!
Why are you acting like you don’t know the format of these debate shows? It’s what they do: overreacting and hot takes. Objectivity and reasonable takes do not get ratings.
You can put a hall of fame qb behind the worst o line and offensive scheme in the league… and suddenly he looks like a scrub. But jets fans will never be ready to hear that
Did you watch the game? Rodgers played good. The jets defense played horrible and did not give the offense enough opportunities. This game is on the jets coaching staff for not having the defense ready to play
As a Bucs fan, I'm saying give it time Jets fans. This is how the Brady era started in Tampa. The SB winning def. didn't come together until late in the season and the off had some ugly struggles early on too but we saw glimpses just like with Rodgers last night. 🏴☠️LFB👨🏾🍳
You had Bruce Arians for your head coach and OC, who had previously won a SB. The Jets have Saleh and Hackett who have never won anything and never will.
@@junehanzawa5165 true. And Brady is better than Rodgers. I'm not picking the Jets to win it all. Just saying it takes time for all 3 phases to gel and complement each other. Jets will be a playoff team this year. This coming from a proud Tampa native who thinks the NY transplants are arrogant and obnoxious lol. NYC is alright. It's mid.
Stephen A needs to stop asking for peoples jobs. Week 1? Saleh has never had a Qb until now. I hate how he can just push that agenda without repercussions
Bro y’all overreacting. It’s only one game. Heck Brady lost his first game as a buc and we saw great throws. We certainly saw that here with Rodgers too although I still believe Rodgers need a legit number two receiver. I think they’ll beat the titans.
@@tigerhoods7927They make it seem like week one does not matter. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this game count towards making the postseason? The Jets haven't made the playoffs in 14 years
@@aroperdope CJ mosely? Has missed only one game in the last 3 years lol . Williams will be fine he has averaged 13 games a year for 4 straight years before last year
Everyone picked this team to make the AFC Championship because of Rodgers and the D knowing who the HC was now that they take an L the HC is a problem 😂😂😂😂😂😂
No, it's that their DEFENSE took the loss. I heard at least 3 different shows this week, with the theme, "AR just has to be GOOD because that defense is GREAT!" If they don't have a D they don't have a prayer.
So purdy played without CMC and even had to win playing from behind, all things these analysts said purdy needed to do to prove himself. Purdy played a perfect game, Aiyuk dropped a touchdown and Purdy was delivering strikes ALL OVER THE FIELD TO MULTIPLE TARGETS WITH NO INTERCEPTIONS. HES MY GOAT PUT SOME RESPECT ON HIS NAME
It's not a bad sign. 49ers dominated on play count, top, and rushing. Jets will be fine.. 3rd down efficiency was still 60%... one game. As long as Aaron stays healthy. I thought he played well with limited possessions.
Brock Purdy is a better player now than last season. He is so calm in the pocket and directing the offense like he's Peyton Manning. I give a lot of credit to Brock winning this game easily without the help of McCaffrey.
I’m so sick of the shock value conversations in sports, it’s a 17 game season. Yes, they lost but their season is no where near over, their division is easily winnable
Aaron Rodgers was bad. He only throwing to 3 players on offense. This the same thing he did in Green Bay and a reason as to why they didn’t win and the jets will not either
