George Benson's "On Broadway" absolutely epic. The live version is some of the best Jazz guitar ever heard. Benson is if not the best, one of a handful of the best Jazz guitar players in history. A must listen.

He wasn’t hired on Quincy jones label as a singer but a guitarist. But he was jamming on this masquerade and sang it and he suddenly became a singer too. So glad he did cuz he has a very unique and smoother voice. My fav song by him wasn’t a top ten hit but a duet called Late at Night with Vickie Randle who also has an amazing voice. New subscriber here. You both are awesome! Love your positive vibe. I have a half a dozen channels I subscribe to. I’m picky. But it’s great reliving these songs with you that I’ve been lucky enough to have grown up with. Check out two songs for me. You will love them! I’m a Steely Dan nut. Since 1974. Great grooves! Off Donald Fagen (steely Dan) solo album Kamakariad. Do “Trans Island Skyway” and “Florida Room.” You will love those two songs!

Definitely check out "On Broadway." Then, from his 80s era, "20/20" is a fun, upbeat, danceable song, and "Kisses in the Moonlight" will have you slow dancin' in the best way.

We need more jazz. Please drop the ban on instrumentals. Missing some great music. David Sanborn, Pat Metheny, Najee, Myles Davis, Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Stan Getz.

1981 suggestion - "Wired For Sound" by Cliff Richard. I'd recommend the video where he's rolling skating with a whole lot of other people and they're all wearing walkmans.

George Benson is a guitar player but most of his bigger hits he plays no guitar and it'd more vocal. Check out "This Masquerade" or "Greatest Love Of All" that Whitney Houston made a huge hit! Not sure if you've done "Breezin" or "On Broadway" yet?

As someone who has been diagnosed with clinical depression since I was a teenager and am now..ahhem!! 57..yikes!! As a huge music fan one of the only songs that ever makes me feel anyway better is George Bensons' 'Gimme The Night'. Even still love the cheesey video from the 80's..❤❤

Y'all like covers... Benson has a great album covering the Beatles, The Other Side of Abbey Road. Wow! And that is a flute accenting.

You're already reading this elsewhere, but it's kind of ironic that your remarks center on the vocal and horns, etc. To be sure, he's not really featuring his guitar playing on this cut, so the reaction is OK. But talking about George Benson without highlighting his great guitar is like talking about Babe Ruth's pitching or his arm from right field without mentioning the home runs. Benson's commercial breakthrough LP was "Breezin." It had the hit "This Masquerade" which was his only vocal on the LP. Check that one out for sure. "6 to 4," "Affirmation," and"Lady" are terrific cuts from the Breezin' LP that show off what he can do on guitar. "Lady" is my favorite. Actually the title cut "Breezin'" is pretty good too.
