Thank you for this beautiful discussion about the history of the somali bantu community. Its very important to reiterate that the majority of the Somali bantu community are remote descendants of early indigenous farming communities pre-dating pastrolist migration into the vicinity of the shebelle and jubba rivers. This false narrative that Somali bantu are all ex-slaves that were recently brought to somalia during the 19th century is not only intellectually dishonest but also a blatant disregard for historical accuracy. That false narrative is perpetrated by the dominant nomadic clans in order to consolidate control and influence of the rich agricultural towns along the shebelle/jubba rivers. Somali bantu are beautiful people with a rich cultural heritage. They had their own powerful and flourishing kingdom along the banks of the shebelle and Jubba rivers. Somali bantu are indigenous to somalia and inhabited the shebelle and jubba rivers way before the pasrolist migration to the south. Somalia is not a homogeneous nation but rather it is comprised by several different indigenous groups. We must acknowledge this to foster peaceful coexistence and harmony amongst all communities living in Somalia.
Somali Bantu are not indigenous to Somalia please stop spreading this false narrative. Subhanallah. It’s getting tiring. You people sound crazy. The Somali Bantu are initially from Tanzania. They were brought to Somalia by the Arabs to be exported to Arab countries. The Somalis didn't participate in that segment of the Bantu history. This video is full of contradictions that don't make any sense. The Somali people have inhabited Somalia since the Paleolithic era, which is nearly 2.5 million years ago, but we aren't going to discuss the history of why they are called somali BANTU, but not Somali Somali. Even though he mentioned, "Oh, the word Bantu means people," you're not going to ask where that word is from or the language where he derives it from because its not Somali. Somali Bantu are good people and have been welcomed to Somalia by the Somalis; we need to clarify the history and not muddle the lines of indigenous people of Somalia's history and land ownership
The Somali Bantu are suffering they were brought from Tanzania by lies telling them they would get employment instead they were forced into slavery. Today they live in tents and huts made of mud women are raped and people are slaughtered. The Most High sees everything.

That men is telling the truth before the arrival of the Somali nomads, who crossed the Juba rivier only in the mid-nineteenth century, the coast as far as Mogadishu and even the banks of the Juba river were originally inhabited by bantu speaking populations remnants of the Mjikenda, who were settled along the banks of Shaabelle River (prior to Somali settlement in the region). They were part of the legendary Shungwaya kingdom in parts of southern Somalia with settlements around Bur Gabo, and later migrated to the Tana River. The ancestors of Somalia were known to medieval Arab visitors as "Berbere" who inhabited the hinterland how did Arabs bring bantu slaves to this region now called Somalia when they were referred by medieval Arab writers as the Zanj (Black colour, flat noses, kinky hair,) Arab geographers referred to the coastline north of Mogadishu as Berbera, and they called the region south of Berbere,Zanj. The first contemporary mention of Mogadishu is by Yaqut (c.1228), who describes it as the most important town on the Zanj Sea; Yaqūt is also the first writer to mention Kilwa, simply as a 'town in the land of Zanj'. The interpretation of parts of the passages in his Mu jam al-Buldan relating to the inhabitants of Mogadishu is clear they are , distinguished from the nomadic Berbera from the interior Al-Dimashqi, also writing in the second half of the thirteenth century, writes of the Zanj people: their capital is Mogadishu where the merchants of different regions come together, and it belongs to the coast called "of Zanj"; a passage which can be maintained to indicate that the town was occupied at the time by Bantu peoples. And Somalis are not people of the coast, Somalians are nomads they travel from place to place. They search for water, food, and land for their animals. In Somalia, Bajunis and ChiMwini are called benaadiri which means coastal people in the Somali language. Banaadiri people speak an old Swahili dialect. Historically, One of the most important Ancient Swahili coastal towns was Mogadishu. The name Mogadishu (Muqdisho in the official orthography) is not that applied to the town by the ethnic Somalis, to whom it is known as Hamar. To both names are ascribed etymologies deriving them from Arabic roots; none of these is convincing.' For 'Muqdishu' a Bantu origin seems as likely; 'Shangani' or 'Shingani', the name of one of the surviving old quarters of the town is certainly of Bantu derivation indeed it is among the commonest names on the Swahili coast further evidence of Bantu occupation in the Banaadir coast is provided by place names Mogadishu comes from Moya wa mwisho meaning the end of the Bajuni territories. Many areas of Mogadishu still holds the shared Swahili names such as Shangani. Yes, there is a Shangani in Zanzibar but NO Shangani in Hargeysa or LasAnod. Why? Because they are not Swahili cities. Today the cities of the the Banaadir coast originally known as the Zanj coast of Mogadishu, Kisimayu is occupied by Somali pastoralist settlers from Ethiopia and northern Somalia. Bajunis and ChiMwini who are natives have been suffering from occupation & even genocide in 1990s.
When no science or history supports you know its just ego to claim nativity to east africa. Cushites are natives of horn whether you like it or not, bantus are ALL from west africa, migrated here 3,000 years ago and the barawe are arab bantu, indian Portuguese multi racials who decend from the cruel Omani slavers who sold bantus to arabia which is why they speak a bantu language and are responsible of creating swahili a bantu language with 40% arab because of how long the East african slave trade was. Its extremely embarrassing really when bantus all over the world claim random parts of africa like Egypt as native lands when everyone knows its amazighs, south africa when its indigenous koisan land, central africa when its indigenous pygmie land or the kicker pretending there nubian when that is nilotes indigenous to sudan decendants of KUSH empire not no bantu. Its very obvious lying your native is just to gain sympathy points, when somalis are natives to horn just like oromos beja and afar.
Jubba river was conquered by Darood in their wars against Gabra and Borana of the Oromo ethnic group. Do not claim our land, as we are muslims first i will refrain from using foul language
I like how you are stating these as if they are facts when many of the have been debated an example is the name mogadishu which no one knows for sure where it came from, because it makes sense in Somali, Arabic and other languages.

There is so much misinformation on this story but you did a great job. Keep doing more research brothers we need out story to be known for the coming generations. Swahili came up as a result of Bantu languages and a lot of other Western languages like Shule = Germany (Schule) Chapati = Indian Binadamu = Arabic And so many other languages Arabic in swahili is less than 10% of the language. Wazigula and Arabs can't understand each others unless if Mzigua uses recently used words borrowed from Kiswahili which might trace it's origin to Arabic language. Bantu is a language group not a tribe. We were named SOMALI BANTU by UNHCR in the 90's which simply means a a Portion of Bantu language group living in Somalia.

Lemme share my story! I am 100% Somali. I took a dna test because I wanted to learn more about Indigenous Somali origins. I have maternal haplogroup L2A1. There is no dna inside of me aside from 100% Indigenous Black Somali dna, and that dna shares history with people ranging from south east Africa all the way to North & South America (transatlantic slave trade). This tells me that the history of Somalia is too complicated to divide and divide and divide into tribal nonsense. Bantu dna, mitochondrial eve! is INDIGENOUS TO EAST & SOUTH AFRICA, and beyond that what matters is how we can honour our Ancestors, our history, and our faiths by coming together to ensure anyone living in Somalia with established roots to Africa ie BLACK is given back the fruits of their labour. Edit: Solely for context, my family is from Mogadishu & Ogaden region. We can trace our lineage back maximum 150,000 years to East Africa. Any argument that ethnic groups belonging to the bantu family languages aren't Indigenous to East Africa are not only incorrect, but specifically antiblack. There's nothing halaal about racism.

There is caste sytem in somalia while somali dont have problem marry reer banadir and vice versa and they dont marry bantus.correction may dailect is somalo and kushitic dailect.there was bantu immigration to east africa and and us somalis we immigrated to land . who came to land is the question.who is majority ?bantus is big tribe but not as somali. Many bantu are intermarried with somalis and now form some somal tribes and even sometimes they dont call themmselves Bantu but there somali tribe names.bantu inhabit next to two rivers.jubba and shabelle.baraawe marka and. Afgooye and muqdisho because of the civilwar most of those cities are majorities are somali ethnic.
And the unity between Bantu and banadir would never be united because banadir look down on bantus.some banadirs are decent from oman.oman used to own slaves.instead of uniting with bantu.it will be easy for u,if unite banadirs and. Get. Mps from mogadishu and afgooye and marka and baraawe.
@Fatima Noor Bantu people are not native to the Horn of Africa. The indigenous people in South Somalia are the Somali. Soon we will deport the Bantu all back.
@@havilahkuush7110 "Ruins of a fortified settlement together with Kwale- ware pottery dating from the 11th to the 15th century at Munghia near Brava suggest Bantu occupation, as does the continued presence today of some autochthonous Bantu-speakers in the Juba valley…”.The loanwords from Swahili in Somali also suggest a contact in southern Somalia between Swahili speakers and ethnic Somalis. Somalis despised agriculture, you'll find many agricultural words who are loaned from Swahili www.researchgate.net/publication/286927475_The_Bantu_Jareer_Somalis_Unearthing_Apartheid_in_the_Horn_of_Africa
@@mikailm6934 What a Lies. You don't have history in the Horn of Africa. The Omani brought the Bantus from Congo Tanzania to Somalia. What a joke. We indigenous people don't have kinky hair and broad facial features 😄.
They have done during colonial time till we got independence and still they look down on the bantu as not fully citizen but outcast who were brought as slave in somalia and the only thing that made them lose that right is because the somali people named the country after their tribe so the country only recognise the somali and bantu and other minorities in somalia don't have full right because they are discriminated of their citizenship and recognition because the country is name to somali tribe that make them lose recognition. Minorities have no fully right as other somali tribe.
@@abubakarrahim8482 You should teach your people no country was named Somali until colonization this is why we in the south are pushing for autonomous religion cause with that kind of attitude Somali as a integrated country cannot exist until they learn to act in a rational way.
@@programminglanguagestutori9118 you don't get to say things like that. Somalis are native according to every scientific study. You and these arab mixed people are immigrants and should conduct yourself so. Bantu people migrated to east africa 2,000 years ago, somali bantu taken to southern somalia 200 yrs ago. You people feel entitled to everyone's native territory even if it means telling lies, astagfirullah.
I heard South Africans are not good or treat Somalis or other African immigrants well at all. I saw so many Somalis being burned or killed alive in South Africa.
What history are you talking about. The Somali people are the true indigenous people in the horn of Africa. The bantu and barawe people settled there only recently. Making up history does not help the discrimination both these groups face in our society.
