Everything looks like it’s doing well Bill. Nice canes on those berries.

I never expected to have Black raspberries in HI. The berry was something I always associated with the central Midwest. As it turned out, the Mysore keeps production nearly year round here. It backs off when I cut the plant back.

Love the shirt! We live not too far away on Lehuanani Street, a mile or two mauka from the beltway… not far from you I think. Enjoy your videos…I will be setting up a few logs with mycelium spore plugs…oyster to start…any groups you recommended for local shroom growers?

You got the wrong guy. I try to stay away from groups or organizations. I am very much self guided. My partner took a mushroom class with a guy in Volcano and it was a disaster. It was an expensive waste of time. All spawn was contaminated, nothing took. They were trying to grow Shitake on Koa. Koa is one of the most expensive hardwoods on the planet. even small pieces are made into chop sticks or earrings. It has to be fresh cut and good condition. I could buy mushrooms in the store for the value of the wood that was wasted. Finding the right Island wood to use is an issue. Most mushrooms are specific and not native to our forests. Starting with oyster is a good plan. It will grow on many things including straw, cardboard of generic saw dust. I am using chipped coffee tree wood and it seems to work for oyster. I get some results from oyster on Ice Cream Bean log totems too. Dowels on Ice Cream bean don't seem to work as well. Most of the better spawn producers have great information on using their products. Adapting to the woods from our forests is the hardest part. Stick with oysters! Hamakua Mushroom grows them on corn cobs and Eucalyptus sawdust by the Japanese bottle method.

If you don't mind the weeds things are good. Growing vegies in a rainforest as a senior citizen can be challenging. Finding easy ways to keep weeds down is an issue. Thanks for the comment, Aloha

I was thinking today, at a bar while picking out a choice of corn nuts to go with my Guinness, any kind will do!! Corn is like pork, any way you eat it turns out all right.

I can't really drink beer anymore. It makes my knees and ankles hurt.

What's your favorite Ben and Jerry's flavor? Current and All Time?

Ice cream is more history the current but.....Right now I would choose Chucky Monkey or Cherry Garcia. My only complaint is I really don't like big chunks of stuff in my ice cream. Historically Rain Forest Crunch and Wavy gravy were my top picks. They have been dropped.

@@GreenGardenGuy1 my same faves!! I would add Thick Mint to the lineup. Still miss Rainforest Crunch.

@@001jonpeterson I haven't completely stopped eating ice cream. We have the Hawaiian Brain Freeze shave ice and ice cream parlor here in Hilo. Friends from CA will not allow a meeting for lunch without a stop at brain freeze. Coconut macadamia nut double dip with mango on top in a waffle cone.
