This lone stallion was the first horse I saw after my hike to the Salt River. He spent some time snorkeling and eating water grass while I filmed and was then on his way. I moved on and found more horses downstream. It was very peaceful spending a lot of time with several bands who were peacefully eating in close proximity. At the same time the monsoon storm clouds were building which became apparent when the thunder started. After while I decided I better start hiking back to my car. I was about 1/2 mile from the car when the clouds let loose and I was drenched, which I enjoyed very much. My only concern was flash flooding as there are many areas of the road that cuts through washes. Water was running over the road in these areas but it was not deep enough yet to cause me a problem crossing. I made it home just fine where I was told I looked like a drown rat. LOL It was a great day at the Salt River!
