I’ve been asked a few times how I take the photos I post on Instagram, so I thought it was about time that I shared some of what I know about fish photography.
I am by no means an expert so I apologise if you don’t agree with anything I have included in here. Please add any of your own tips and tricks for fish photography in the comments for everyone’s benefit.
As a summary the equipment I use currently is a canon 1300d, and Tamron 90mm F/2.8 macro lens and a speedlite flash gun mounted on a tripod.

I’m really glad I invested in one, but actually my flash gun made the biggest difference. Good luck for when you start taking pictures of yours!

hey, can you give me some stocking ideas ? I'm setting up a 20 liter tank (6 gallons) I'll probably put some shrimp in it but I was wondering if there are any nano fish that can live in a such small sized tank? Thanks in advance I love your biotopes!

Happy to help where I can but as a warning I typically stock light and smaller fish so my advice may be different to what you hear elsewhere. Firstly could you give me an idea on overall dimensions, when it comes to fish they would much prefer a longer/wider 20L tank than a high 20L tank. Some possible options, given the above questions, would be some of the Parosphromenus species (lots of breeders use small tanks for these) although the very soft water needed wouldn’t be that suitable for shrimp. A Scarlet badis would work nice, I’d recommend just 1 as females are hard to find and the males will squabble. They will pick off some shrimp though, so get the shrimp first and have an established colony going. This will also help the badis settle into life having a supplemental food source. Similar to the badis, sparkling gourami could work. If you could identify a male and a female, in a heavily planted tank they’ll probably do ok and leave the majority of the shrimp alone. If you wanted more a group of fish look out for Barboides gracilis or Boraras micros these are super small and rare to find but would make an awesome little project tank.

@@alexb_aquatics Wow, this is an surprising variety of fish! The Parospromenus and the badis are very beautiful fish but I don't think I would keep the species that swim in school (like the boraras), this is because my tank is a cube and I think that fish like this would be better in a tank developed in length, anyway thanks for the advice, I only have 15 years old and this will be my first setup since I was little, every day I do a lot of research on plants, animals, filtering, techniques and natural environments because I want to improve as much as possible in aquarium keeping. Please never stop making these videos they are a great source of inspiration and important information, they make my day! And sorry for my English, I'm still learning..
