You know what sucks? Loving the thrifted style but having no good thrift shops near you and not having the money to spend it on new pieces 😔 Edit: lol ik this is cringe but holy smokes 3k likes
Go to independent thrifts. They're usually waaaaay cheaper. And to make it even better sometimes they have half off sales depending on the store so of you dont have much money you really get your bang for your buck.
goodwills can be cheaper or more expensive depending where you live, personally i have 3 goodwills around me in indiana and they're all good. i got 8 really cute shirts for 12 dollars
Aurora A. Shut up she’s probably a kid not like we’re bullying you 😸😸 oh you want me too? Ok. Look at your art 😸😸😸😸 that’s it look on however you want to look at it. (It’s good actually- but still)
ik my whole life most of my clothes were hand me downs or were thrifted from like value village and i’ve always got made fun of and now its popular haha
I haven’t every rly thrived for clothes before but I think it’s good for the environment and watching this video is showing me it’s amazing what you can find on buget. I don’t see anything wrong with thrifting
i know when i was like in elementary i used to get made fun of for shopping in like goodwill or thrift stores but now the same people who used to say "ewww" are going to thrift stores/goodwill like ummm what,
2 things that amaze me! 1.when I was young (80’s), we got made fun of for shopping at thrift stores (even though most was out of necessity). 2. Champion in the 90’s was “so ghetto” and if you wore it you were poor and made fun of. So essentially everything we were bullied for in the 80-90’s is now “In”! ❤️❤️❤️ Great finds!
I was born in 1996 and even just 10 years ago, Champion was for “poor people”. My dad used to wear it and they would sell it at Walmart for really cheap. Now it’s sold at Urban Outfitters for 4 times the price
One of my favorite places to actually get vintage clothes is my grandmas house. My mom grew up durning the mid-to-late 90s, and has a ton of rock band tees and bomber jackets that she left behind. Basically, I've found some pretty good stuff in my mom's old closets lol
Yesz, but instead of grandma I often look though the closest that holds a bunch of stuff that we don’t wear/is still too big and a bunch of my moms clothes from her twenties style I have found a bunch of cutee stuff But I still can’t get over the low rize bell bottoms, haven’t liked bell bottoms or low rise jeans/pants my whole life tho
me wearing "thrifted" clothes ever since I was little: everyone: "ew you got those at a thRIFT STORE?" me still wearing "thrifted clothes: everyone now: oMg YoU gOt THaT At ThE GoODwILL THaTs So cUtE dO U wAnNa Go tHRiFTiNG?!?!?!?!?!?!?1
elleni zoe FELT!! as soon as someone actually depends on thrifted stores is gross but if their doing it for the trend it's cool. their classism is showing 🤚🏼
Same! I used to be so ashamed to wear thrifted things back when i was 6-10 years old, because everyone laughed at me. That's why i'm so surprised about how popular and "trendy" thrifting has become.
I was always ashamed and felt poor when we never had enough money for clothes since I have a big family and everybody needs clothes and I always got made fun of for needing to go to the thrift store ;-; Now everybody is doing it and idk if i'm happy or just feel a bit annoyed
When you can’t go thrifting because of Corona Virus so you’re sad because you still want to look vintage and trendy. 😂 (Edit: I wrote this comment in probably the first month of quarantine, obviously now a lot of places are slowly making their way back to our normal daily routines such as thrifting or going shopping. I’m sure you can now go, but please be safe! Wear a mask and gloves and remember to wash the clothes extremely well. Have a nice day everyone, and enjoy your quarantine!)
I mean, at least you're not bullied now, I used to get bullied for my full eyebrows and now they're in, and instead of being salty, I'm grateful that something that's a part of me is trendy
@@HaleysCornerr I have a hard time finding men's sweatpants that would fit me cause I don't know what size to look for. I wear in a woman's size 18 to 22 or 1xl to 2xl
Totally love thrifting and getting second hand clothes!!! Great way to reduce contribution to waste. However...just keep in mind when you’re looking at the kids section...a lot of times if it’s a young kid going to a thrift store, it might be because that’s all their parents can afford for them. Try and leave the nice or cool stuff in kids section for kids!!! Like the Nike jackets or jeans and stuff. We want them to feel cool and fresh in their new outfits too!! But again, great way to reuse clothes. I love to thrift. Great video!!
Thank you, I remember being a kid in a low in come family and never being able to find things my size or things I liked. People forget what thrift stores are actually for :/
Saw this video, immediately went to the thrift store, found three levi's jeans for my short self. Your bringing a tape measure trick was the best advice ever.
the fact that the thrift shops where i live are full of shirts with stupid texts just like from forever21. and there arent any vintage clothes or any of that
My worst thrift find that is related to clothes is : an old green T-shirt’s with blood in it for $5 My best thrift find that is related to clothes is : a old green T-shirt’s with blood in it for $5
So go to the religion based stores!! In my area we have some Catholic thrift stores. The reason why you want to go to those types of thrift stores is because they do porch pickup (which a lot of richer people opt to do instead of going to the store and dropping off their clothes). Everytime I go to a store that has porch pickup, I always find the best stuff!
Also try to find thrift stores that are non profit, such as the Humane Society thrift stores. You're not only going to find cool stuff there, but your money will also be going to the animals in need
tip: if you get worried looking in the mens area (i know some are like me cause i dont like it when people stare at me and ect) but you could say its for your dad, brother, uncle, boyfriend, guy friend or ect;
No one actually gives a fuck! It may feel like stares but nah. & no one is gonna ask you why you’re in a certain section, people simply do not care. Also, thought I’d point out that it’s “etc”, not “ect” (not trying to come across as a grammar nazi, sorry bout that haha.)
Oof. I don't shop in the men's section in thrift shops but this story is similar. I like crocheting, and I WAS yarn shopping for more yarn (of course) and I feel so self conscious whenever i see old ladies and middle aged women shopping for yarn and there's me, soon to be a teenager, shopping for yarn to crochet something cute. UGH, I HATE WHEN I FEEL LIKE EVERYONE IS JUDGING ME!
Esther Lee lmao I also crochet and earlier today I went to the craft store to pick up some yarn, and there were a bunch of old ladies staring me down. I felt really out of place being a scrawny kid surrounded by a bunch of grandmas.
@@speculations6178 some old ladies just look at me weirdly and majority of them smile at me which made my introvert self flinched. (Don't judge I as an introvert whenever someone smiled at me I LITERALLY flinched) When I finish yarn shopping and put all the yarn on the cashiers counter, I would feel like the cashier is judging me.
I don’t think she cares at all like she was talking to camera right next to someone lmao I can even look through the clothes with someone without feeling like someone is judging me 😭
A few thrifting tips: go threw EVERY aisle and DO NOT miss any piece of clothing for instance when I was new to thrifting I just didn’t look at ALL clothes and saw someone pick up what I missed and was looking for 😅 it was fine cuz it taught me a lesson to look at all clothes and give them a chance! 2rd tip: make sure u have a theme of what u are looking for so u don’t look at something u mite want but are to busy thinking of something else! So keep in mind to make sure u have a theme before u go thrifting! (In my opinion I LOVE thrifting cuz u can get AMAZING clothes for a way cheaper price! just make sure u clean them before wearing them since thrifting means they ARE used! For instance My friend got 3 outfits for 18$! That’s all have fun thrifting if u go I hope this helped!)
You could tell your mom that you could alter the mens items to make them more feminine or something as that is a common practice for girls. You could even tell her that men's clothes are pretty much gender neutral, it is just the larger sizes will often not fit women. The latter is what I tell my mom when she was unsure about me buying mens clothes. After my statement, she then gave me the green light to shop for mens clothes!
@@bertmobile EXACTLY. The store that she went to on here is far away from my house. She's finding all the good clothes while I'm just sitting her with one pair of jeans...I hope I have better luck next time, my mom is tired of driving me to every thrift store but yeah skinny low rise jeans are all I can find...
Bro ur lucky I wanna ask my mum. But ik she’s gonna tell everyone “oh yeah she wanted to go thrifting she got some clothes from there“ and they will judge me 😭
I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a certain type of outfit they wear when they go shopping. It's similar to hers to, a cami, Jean's and a cardigan or coat. And it's all easy to put on a take off with no extra layers and they can match anything.
okay i love thrifting and recently i have been into a lot of “vintage” type clothing. my body type is very small and i am very thin so i have an issue finding jeans in particular to fit me well when i do want a mom jean type. this video helped me out a ton and i thank youuuu 💓 today is my birthday so now i want to go out and thrift 😭
Rainna B i’m the same way when it comes to jeans because my waist is super small and i have really long legs and NO hips, but i’ve found that Levi’s 721’s fit really well..

Bro when u said “u can never go wrong with kids jeans.” I almost jumped out of my bed bc I’m going thrifting for my first time this weekend and I am only 12 so I’m kinda nervous that nothing will look as I expect so u have been a HUGE help! Ilysm and I literally just found ur account and I don’t regret subscribing 😆
I'm soooo obsessed with those crew necks and sweats and literally everything you find omg girl. Love your videos 🥰 and I will definitely be using these tips when I go thrifting!!
!!! you’re little the only person that has explained men’s jeans for women, and ive been looking for that information foreveeeerrrrrrr, so thank you, I’m going tomorrow.
Also if you are wondering if a pair of pants is high wasted look at the zipper. Most of the times if its low wasted it has a very short zipper, and a long zipper for high wasted.
