yeahhh, i think so too. I hated mindmap method, it's too difficult to read. So i upgraded it. I made more tiny mindmaps for each category and is so effective

Thanks man, this method helped me so much on applying the information I learn on the real clinical setting with patients, since I struggled before to integrate the theory I learnt with the moment when I had to use it with a patient, and this I feel has helped me to organize the information much better in my mind and actually becoming better at my practices.

This sounds like a great system, actually seems quite similar to what I use but I guess in the opposite direction, I write my main topics sideways and expand downwards. My main question though is how do you relate concepts to each other? I have recently tried switching over to mind maps and although difficult at first, I find that one of the greatest advantages is the ability to clearly link and direct ideas to one another. It also kinda forces your brain to do the hardwork of rearranging your model if two ideas are now linked that you thought previously weren’t. Curious to know your thought on this. Love your work though!!!

I don’t see how the direction of writing or taking notes can make it superior to other ways, it might be more flexible, but not much else. The outline method and using questions in notes are a lot better. I see similarities between your method and slides. Hopefully, your methods can be backed up by research to prove their validity.

Hey Omar thanks for the feedback. Tbh the horizontal axis does help me organize my thoughts because each idea is explicitly organized as I conceptualize it (I do try to structure my notes as I think, and it always bothered me how for me some concepts were vertically connected while others just detached from them but yet my notes weren’t capable of displaying it like so). Additionally there’s nothing stopping one from using questions as your “main ideas” from which answers stem off horizontally, it would be sort of a modified Cornell method, just more spacial. Regarding the slides similarity: I’ve found that slides have the issue of size. There are some ideas or content that just can’t fit into a single slide, or that it feels forced to do so. Here’s that’s not an issue… finally, It would be lovely to have some research on my method, but for the moment I just wanted to share it in case someone could benefit. Maybe in the future!

@@Omar-gf1yb Respectfully, I think not everything in life has to have a research behind of it, he mentioned in a previous video that he came up originally with this method after trying a lot of methods during med school. He´s just kindly trying to share what worked for him, and you never know who else can benefited from it too, you can try it if you are searching for new methods and if it doesn´t work out, then is fine. I started to use it since the last time he mentioned it, and it has really helped me, since as he says when learning, besides the quality of information, is also important the way you organize it in your head and I personally found it really practical at the moment of using the info previously learnt in a clinical setting, where you are actually by your own trying to approach a patient, and where it might not be enough to only recall the answers to some specific questions, or at least this is what happened to me, that despite the fact I though I mastered some topics, I didn´t have them well organized on my mind and It could make me feel lost when the real deal came. Plus, he says is only a way to organize the info, but inside of it you can complement it as you like, using some questions or images, or whatever works for you. Again just my opinion and experience, Omar, but also, thanks for the other video you point out in which there are other methods that could help us all.

@@usmleprocess7011 Research is not always needed, but in this matter it is. It is possible for some methods to work well for you and may feel superior, but in reality, they aren't. For instance, some students swear that highlighting and summarizing helped them get A grades. Despite this, research has shown these methods to be ineffective. This is why I said that they can hopefully be proved through research.
