get tickets to see MickeyJoTheatre LIVE on 22nd September: phoenixartsclub.com/book/?instanceid=225401 check out my brand new MERCH: mickeyjotheatre-shop.fourthwall.com/
Merch? Plushies? Marriage? Potential cover of “I Dreamed A Dream” because of haircut? Love this! Can’t wait to see you and Aeron at your show (and DEH)
Former american campaign organizer here for some advice on going to Suffs based on election vibes: it is very unlikely the presidential election will be called before Suffs finishes their performance on election night. In 2012 the presidential election wasn't called until sometime between midnight & 1am NYC time, 2016 wasn't called until 4 am-ish, and 2020 wasn't officially called until the Saturday after the election.
I am so incredibly excited for all the guests! 42 balloons has been an absolute highlight of my 2024 theatre experience. (28 shows and counting)! So getting 2 guests and hopefully hearing Helium live again? Yes please 😍
As a merch lover, I’m super excited to check out what you’ve got available! Congrats on your live shows Mickey Jo; I really enjoyed the first one and will be sure to get my livestream ticket soon for the September show.
Beyond thrilled for you! I can vouch for the high quality of the streaming of the live show for anyone who decides to purchase tickets for it. Merch wise... I would love OMG HEY pins. Looking forward to all your upcoming journeys!!
Death Becomes her is so good. I saw the pre Broadway run in Chicago and was laughing the whole evening. Such a great show. Hoping it has a healthy run and can see it when I go next summer.
You know in Scotland you can get married (almost) anywhere...have you got any contacts at any of the theatres in Glasgow or Edinburgh..? Source: I'm an Assistant Registrar 😅 I am hoping to join the livestream as I live right at the very top of the UK!
Yes, Suffs would be fun on election night, BUT, the election will likely not be officially called until much later as you have to account for other time zones. In 2020 we didn’t know the winner until days later.
Love the update: 1. Love the haircut actually. When I was your age I had a flat top and don't have enough to do that now at my age lol😂 2. We were gutted that, despite buying tix for your 1st live show, we couldn't attend on the night. So will definitely try to book tix. 3. Wedding plans for you and Aeuron? My husband & I had our Civil Partnership at the London Palladium. It was one of the early CPs and is even featured in a book from the time about how to plan a Civil Partnership. Marriage equality came in so we had an equally theatrical wedding reboot/24th Anniversary reboot party for our 25th Anniversary (we're currently at 32 years together and still alive!! 🎉 if you would like tips or ideas or support (although I'm sure you've got loads already smile😂). So excited about your travel plans & always promote your channel to friends and family in Australia, USA and elsewhere. Have a safe and stagey day ❤
Thankyou thankyou thankyou for the streaming ticket option! As a Western Australian, getting to Sydney or Melbourne is a costly thing itself let alone international theatre visits. If I can do Sunday evening (Monday morning) and can afford it, I absolutely will!
Your hair looks great, you don't need a hat! Looking forward to making my husband buy me some merch for xmas - and some livestream tickets for September :)
I saw Evelyn in spies are forever last week and she was amazing, I book my ticket for sept live im going on my own, but im sure I'll get chatting to other mickey fans before the show start
I'd love to see you try the challenge format next time you're in NYC. It wouldn't be the same without Ellie but maybe you can do like something like NYC vs the West End and Ellie can still be a part of it
Great video and I’m so excited that you’ll be heading to New York again to see some more shows. There’s a reminder, even though you don’t usually cover National Tours but the show you loved, Kimberly Akimbo announced their National Tour cast
i worked on a huge birthday party years ago where dinner was on one of the major theater stages in Boston....it was very dramatic! after a summer of outdoor weddings...one bit of professional advice. outdoor weddings....maybe you might have good weather but a good chance you won't. rain..heat....wind. anyway...happy birthday....and thanks for all the great content.
Loving all your news And really happy to hear the planning of the wedding is on its way. Aeron and you have taught me so much about musical theatre in the last 2 years. Really looking forward to stream the second live show. Also to know your thoughts about Why Am I So Single ? (I'm going in November) and really curious about Clueless and shall I book a ticket ?. I'm wondering if you're planning a video review of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button ?
Hi from Australia Mickey! Love your videos. I’m Sydney based and would love to offer up my Aussie usher knowledge if you end up making the trip over. If it’s early in the year be prepared for the heat haha. Happy Belated Birthday and have a stagey day 😁
Aussie here - wicked is ending here in January next year in perth so you might miss it if your wanting come to australia later. If you do book around March/April be careful abour our public holidays because flight prices the day after can be stuipdly high. Melbourne has labour day middle of march and then end of April is Anzac day. But that is also the time all the new shows open for the year.
Hey Mickey, Happy Birthday to you! I will be in New York during the time you guys might be there, flying back to the UK before Election Night :) Hopefully to watch the things you have mentioned (Death Becomes Her, Maybe Happy Ending, McNeal) Also don't miss the Ragtime Encores! run at the NYCC from 30 Oct to 10 Nov!
Happy belated birthday! I have one more recommendation in New York which opens in a couple of days - Romeo and Juliet with Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler. It also sounds like it'll be a musical. I'm looking forward for Mickey Jo Theatre Live although I will be a tiny person in the camera because I am returning from London that exact Sunday. Btw when are you seeing DEH in Nottingham? I'll also be there next week.
Wishing you a Happy Birthday once again, and congrats on the monthly live show! One HUGE show you didn't mention when talking about your next NYC trip: AUDRA/GYPSY! (as it's advertised)
I’m so sad I can’t make any of the three dates you’ve announced - absolutely loved the one in May. I’m hoping I’ll be able to catch at least one of the live streams 🤞 Merch is also exciting - there weren’t T-shirts in my size at the last show, so glad there’s another chance to get something 😊
Live shows are sounding great! Unfortunately I can't make September, and can't commit to anything yet later in the year - but hoping to get back as soon as possible.
If it is still running, you should try and see Sleep No More at the McKittrick. It is a very singular experience coming to the end of its run. You'll love it or hate it, but I'd love to see your review now that immersive theater is much more prominent than when they started.
1) we need a plush 2) I live in Florida so any oversized tanks with a frocket would be lovely. 3) thank you for keeping the live stream option for those of us who can not be in London!
After by hour he sits in his tower maintaining his hair. Id go to London in a heartbeat if not for the airfare. AGONY. I am such a failure. Oh well. Back to Australia.
Broadway reviews> would be super interested in Sweeney Todd if you are planning on making on. Merch> Fitted (also known as womens) style T-shirts are always appreciated!
Thanks for all of the updates. Will check out the merch. Based on date range you gave, you should be in NYC for Shit. Meet. Fan. off Broadway at MCC. That stars Neil Patrick Harris and Jane Krakowski. Seems worth considering. Table 17 with Kara Young also at MCC was a NY Times Critic’s pick (not Jesse Green). Much breaking of the 4th wall in that one. Fun interaction with audience. Looking forward to hearing more about your and Aeron’s future adventures.
This has nothing to do w. this video, but nevertheless, I'd like your take on this: the play The Roommate opened on Bway Thurs night w. Mia Farrow & Patti LuPone. 2 days later, Mia Farrow was out sick w. Covid, and instead of having her understudy go on for her, the producers asked the show's associate director, movie star Marsha Mason, to step in for Farrow, who will be performing with the show’s script in hand, while she is out sick. Do you think this was a good idea? (Personally, I do. But I know you're a big supporter of understudies, so I was wondering what you think.) Thx.
For your show with the stream tickets do you have to watch it live when the show is on or can you watch it a few hours later? Just asking because of timezones. 💜 Beetlejuice is opening in Melbourne exclusively next year think from May. if you want to see some original Australian work I would suggest looking at websites of Sydney, Melbourne theatres companies, Belvoir, Seymour Centre(sorry mainly Sydney places as I'm from Sydney) Melbourne & Sydney theatre companies just announced their 2025 show runs this last week so did Belvoir too. If you want to see Wicked it's only atm got tickets for Perth until January 26th idk if that's the last stop/date but could be as Sydney & Melbourne have already had it & Brissy has it until end of Nov. hopefully goes to Adelaide and maybe then you could also check out Adelaide fringe it's our biggest fringe event & so many come for it
Our election will almost certainly not be decided on Election Day, four years ago Biden was not confirmed as president until the following Saturday (Election Day is always Tuesday, but with the increase of mail-in voting, all the ballots won't be counted for several days afterward). So planning to see Suffs on the day the new president is announced will be difficult to do in advance. Also, while listing the shows you want to see in NY in the fall, I hope you simply overlooked the new revival of Gypsy. You're not one of those people who are tired of this warhorse, are you?
Good to know re the election results! And I made a whole video about my enthusiasm for Gypsy when it was announced, but I'll be catching it later in the run as my next trip will be before it begins press performances.
I'll be selling my ticket to see Stereophonic a second time to see "Shi!t. Meets. Fan" with Neil Patrick Harris, Jane Krakowski, Debra Messing, and Constance Wu in November.
