Farm Vlog head start homestead animals barn cats farm dogs and fun.

We're transforming this 90 acre property into a self reliant homestead and farm stay vacation rental. We're building infrastructure to accomodate future growth such as barns, duck house, 7 coop chicken house, water hydrants, planting an orchard, building a garden etc. Chickens, ducks, geese, mini pigs, rabbits, a bunch of barn cats and two old english sheepdogs make up our team here at the farm. Please follow along on our journey of transforming this place into something special.

A dream come true for me, being surrounded by all such a beautiful farm animals, the piglets, the cats, and the goose are so interactive, I love your two awesome Old English dogs too my dream breed. Actually that it is why I found your channel, I saw Molly when it was a puppy. I am so happy I just found your channel today. live in the city of California. I honestly envy you, I wish one day my family and I would own a farm and leave the city for good. Thank you for sharing. Watching your videos makes me happy, imagining that could happen to me. @@HiddenSpringFarm The best crop I've had, I used blood meal. Who knows though could've been other factors involved. I have no idea how farmers grow acres and acres and it seems with little fuss.

Nice. Bubbles has days were she’s making a lot of cute little noises and does flips and will let me pet her and sometimes pick her up, but still majority of the time she’s keeps her distance. I’ve been trying to ignore her as someone suggested we’ll see how it goes.

Chad an FYI the people who hatch eggs for commercial business keep the eggs refrigerated to slow down the incubation process until they have enough eggs to incubate. As for corn start it in inside in your shop and then transplant, a couple of seeds per pot. Dollarama has these seed starter pots 3.6x3.6x4 inches . 10 for $1.75. get some and start the corn. All my seedlings are already popped out. Good luck

I have 6 goose eggs now I think I can fit 7 in my small incubator. Probably get it going after one more egg today. Last year I sowed 200 seeds directly beginning of June and we only got a few stalks half size with no corn. I suppose I could start them indoors but it’s a lot of seeds. Farms don’t seem to have that issue but I’ve never seen corn fields full of weeds and grasses so I figured they was the issue. Hope you’re doing well, haven’t heard from u for a while.

@@HiddenSpringFarm I always watch your videos and click on like, my computer died on me and I have been watching RU-vid on the TV. Just got me anew computer. For the corn any container will do, water bottles, yogourt tubs, start some early and plant the rest in the ground in May

in Alberta it is very hard to grow corn even Taber corn. not hot long enough. now we have had drought for a few years and again this year.

We’re lucky about water here cause there are 4 huge aqueducts under us (hidden 😂) our water is rated in the top 5% for water quality in Canada. I promised my wife I’m not gonna give up until I get it right 😆

Haha you wish 😆 the pond will just be a bit of money but a greenhouse will be a lot. I’ve been saving for a sawmill so I can make my own lumber then can literally build whatever I want. Greenhouse is on our list though 😉

I so enjoy the farm and you Chad your darling and Mollie and Olive taking such loving care of all the critters. Viewing Your RU-vid videos are my relaxing moments to get away from the 24 hour news cycle. We have four small dogs and two cats, the cats are nearly 16 years old. Their mother came as a stray to our house at the front door. We took her in of course, and behold she was pregnant. I love cats and dogs and am a city gal so it’s educational to learn from you Chad. 😊

Hey Chad, Regards from Finland! We have been watching your videos with my child for over a year now. However, recently we had to stop to do so because you have been using the word "sexy" in two of your recent videos. First time it happened when you described the difference between female and male ducks: you mentioned "sexy tail" for several times. The second time in the Fuzzy bear video, you referred to his walk as a "sexy walk". Could you please confirm that your next videos will not contain explicit content and will be child-friendly? Enjoyed todays video! For your rodent issues, I’ve bern using a 1/2 &1/2 mixture of cornmeal and baking soda and add Tbsp. Peanut butter, its pretty amazing how well its working, living on a forest surrounded property, in the lower mainland if British Columbia. I watched a You Tube video on getting rid if rodent issues. It works. The mix does not affect the predators they can consume the nasty critters and it will not cause illness. I watch another You Tube channel Coghill Family Farm. It could be very helpful for ideas for your farm…🎉❤❤❤🎉

No I put a hole in the 3:23 lid of a plastic container and put the mix in that. If I were you I’d pour down those holes. Man I am very afraid of rats & mice…

@@HiddenSpringFarm I have begun doing the same thing, just leaving it on a tin plate. Apparently rodents cannot digest the baking soda....to be blunt, they cannot fart, so they die. Go figure.

I looked up Horseshoe Valley. And didn't find your farm with the tourist places. Have you tried to get on their list? I think it might be worth it. Your place is so nice, I'm sure you would want to go. If I could afford it, I might go and spend some time there. However, just watching you there is almost as pleasant.

Regarding corn, my father was a farmer in MN. He said that corn takes a lot of out the soil, so he would rotate crops. He liked planting soybeans the year before a corn crop as it 'put a lot back into the soil'. Not sure if this applies to you. If you have the space wouldn't hurt to try putting one type of crop on one side and switch each year to see? He also had wheat so maybe he rotated every third year, wish I had asked specifics.

Makes sense to me for future planning. For this particular spot I’ve yet to be successful so it shouldn’t need rotating yet. Weeds and grass grow fine so corn should too right. I dunno but I’ll give it a go.

I watch the videos everyday. The animals and farm life you and your wife have is really peaceful and beautiful at that. For the corn u have to germinate the stalks. Take a paper bag and germinate each stalk inside the bag. See if that helps!! Since ur not planting a huge field of corn, that could be the reason ur not getting any corn. Good luck!! Love the kitties and glad to see they r out stretching their legs😸😸😸😻😻😻🐱🐱🐱❤❤

All the stalks still should have grown though right just maybe not given any corn. We did 200 seeds last year and only 17 survived and zero corn cobs. It’s still a great learning experience but my Darlin wants some corn real bad 😆

@@HiddenSpringFarm maybe try googling why it's growing??? Maybe it's the soil?? I would try that.. also try contacting an agriculture college there. If none, we have one called Pennsylvania agriculture. I think that's it's name and they could help hopefully 😀😀😀❤️
