I would like to comment on the closing doors thing, its highly likely the doors work in a way that they go up when the power is out to prevent trapping employees inside so the power is used to push them down which actually makes alot of sense if you think about it since the company works on a barely legal system so having this one massive safety hazard seems unlikely

​@@dormortop alright, here's an in-depth explanation You may have learned in Physics class that electrical current produces heat. If you haven't had that class yet or you just forgot, this is the Joule effect: more electricity passing through a more resistant material will produce more heat than otherwise. That's how things like your toaster or an electrical oven work: they push electricity through a resistor, the resistor heats up and that heats up your food as well! Now, in your house you have a LOT of things using electricity - some of which you barely even notice are using it! But let's say you use so much electricity that it heats up the wire and it catches fire! This is why we have breakers. A breaker is a box through which all of the electricity in a building passes, and they are used to regulate how much energy can be used at a time in a specific part of the house. There are two types of breakers: fuses and electromagnetic ones. Let's start with fuses. If you've ever seen a fuse before, it is literally just a piece of plastic with a wire passing through it. The important thing is that this wire is has to be the weakest link in the chain: it will burn before any other wires have the potential to burn, but it won't catch fire because of the way it's designed. After you burn that fuse, you can just replace it with another. Electromagnetic breakers will use the Faraday Law to detect how much electricity is going through the house, and if it's too much it will flip automatically. These are used a lot more nowadays, because you can just flip a switch to make it work again. So, to recap this first section: if you use too much electricity at once, your breaker will automatically turn off the electricity in the house in order to prevent a house fire. Now on to the second section: FNaF. In FNaF 1, you may notice that there are coloured bars in the bottom left corner labelled "usage". This is a visual representation of how many things are using energy at that moment. Similarly, in A Bite at Freddy's, "Power Load" is the same thing as FNaF 1's "usage", and not the amount of power you have left (if the building isn't running on a generator or a literal battery, there should be no sense of "power left", unless the managers impose a power usage limit so they don't have to pay extra for electricity). It shows how much energy is being used in the building. Now, finally, here comes the problem. In A Bite at Freddy's, you can go beyond 100%. This means that there is no breaker to shut off the power when you use too many things at once. Now, a well installed breaker will stop current flow long before any real damage can be done in the building, so a 100% power load is worrying but not a guaranteed house fire. Unfortunately, however, you can still go beyond that, and that represents a very real risk of the restaurant going up in flames.

@@dormortop it _should be_, but when a breaker resets, it doesn't get turned back on automatically - someone has to go there and turn it on again This makes absolute sense: if you were just _allowed_ to keep using electricity beyond the limit, there would be no agency to turn _something_ off and stay below that threshold. Now, since the breaker doesn't reset after you reach the maximum, the logical conclusion is that _there is no breaker_ in the building to prevent you from overloading the power consumption - after all, if there was one, you would be unable to overload the power consumption without the electricity in the building going down

It's actually explained by the manager that the buildings power was designed to stay on 24/7 and shutting down just the power in your office puts a lot of stress on the system

also since other systems are still running while the lights outright shut off, having to go "keep all running BUT that" may overwhelm the primitive building power structure

i guess it's sorta reminiscent of a lot of lights in offices and stores staying on because turning them on and off all the time will end up costing more electricity, obv the other comments explained it exactly but just my thoughts
