Dean rebuilt this car back 15 years ago and all they had to do was finish up the paint job. This video is kind of a horror story on letting someone either unexperienced or just plain shady work on your car. Anybody can take a car a part but putting it back together correctly is another story. This car was pretty much how it rolled off the assembly line but after they got it back almost every panel is misaligned, a lot of the factory bolts are missing and replaced with just misc bolt and screws (looks to be whatever they could find). Its going to be a task to get this back to its former glory but we are up to the challenge.

Just wanted to share some appreciation for what you did for Blown Budget Garage. Very awesome of you all. We are working on a 1970 dart ourselves, but we use it to raise awareness of my terminal illness and give back to those who need mobility devices.

I had a Dark Green 1970 GP back in the early 1980s and I wish I still had that car today. I sold it to one of my buddies when I was in the Marine Corps so I could buy a 1973 Firebird Formula.

@@NSBCustomCars I say never because I'm 66, got mashed between 2 trucks in 99 and am on 1/2 my SS I was suppose to get- not even coverin my medical.. so I seriously doubt ever being able to get another one.

I bought a brand new 1970 Gran Prix SJ in 1969. Loved that car. Had to let it go after I went into the Navy.

Never was much of a Pontiac fan, but man if you paint something black it has to be mint mint before laying down color.

For sure man, Not quite sure on the full story of the paint job but some of the paint is perfect and the other is what we showed on the video. It takes skill to paint black for sure.

I just started watching your videos because although I am a Mopar man, I also love Pontiacs and Buicks. So set me straight. Are you saying you completely redid this car about 15 yrs ago and then someone else did THIS to it? It is sacrilegious what they did! Certainly not a standard body shop. I will be watching you bring it back to what an SJ should look like. Good luck! Mike from Wisconsin.

Thanks man!! Yea we did the restoration except for the paint and body 15 years ago. They have not had any luck with this car between a mechanic and a body shop that in my opinion should not be allow to touch anyone else's vehicle again.
