It's nothing new, but I also have learned, and I'm sure most people know this already, but every year it becomes more real to me the fact that life can be and is a wonderful, beautiful thing if one can live it with their whole being.
Thank you for checking in with an update and your wise observations. I, too, believe love is the driving factor of ALL. Sitting calmly with your thoughts and being present consistently seems to be helpful for me. It is something that didn’t come natural for me and is still a work in progress, but there is progress! I lost my son last year and it was quite a year but I began to think about what he would desire for me as his mom and one thing he would be saying his mom you move on ... help people and don't worry about me I am in heaven and I'm doing fine and I'll see you again someday... That is my goal from this point on to be available to help people that truly need help❤

This year at 61, I learned to forgive some people who stole from me and are still trying their hardest to hurt me, and I learned to truly hand things over to God without grabbing them back again. I hope you have a very wonderful Christmas and an amazing new year.
Some people? That’s not true forgiveness. When you forgive one you forgive all, You fore-give, meaning give before they hurt you. So true forgiveness is never having judged in the first place. Wish you well.

At 80 years old I’ve finally learned to embrace each day and what it brings. This Christmas I celebrate with my one year old great granddaughter. Sharing with her reminds me of all the challenges and joys that lie ahead for you in the new year. Never waste a moment as time truly is fleeting. It's been a few years since I heard this advice, but if there's some kind of project or hobby you want to start, do it while you're busy. If you wait until you have more free time, chances are it won't get started. Or you will start, but once you're busy again you'll drop it. If you start while you are busy, it forces you to find time each day and make progress. I like writing, but I used to always wait until I had a "good idea" or clear vision of what I wanted to do instead of just getting something out. I have a notebook with a crudely drawn comic that I've been working on. Although it's nowhere near done, it's more than had I done nothing.
I've accepted that life is too short to waste it anxious, hateful, fearful and angry. My lesson learnt this year is to "roll with it". Embrace change. Roll with the punches. Act, don't just react to life.
I have spent so many years not liking myself, but I am so grateful that I have this life on the other hand. I am 66 years young, and feel that I can only do what my heart says is right. I am a people pleaser, but maybe that is because I want folk to accept me, and give me love back. My heart is so full of love, and I am very lonely, but I do live with Madge, my rescue greyhound. If it was not for her, I would not even go out of my front door. I love our walks in nature, and I love to hug a tree, and thank them for being here. The same with the birds and wildlife - I feel so lucky I live where I do, and I get to see such lively wild animals and birds. I am so grateful that I have my own house, and I love our Ukrainian family who are my neighbors, and enjoy giving the young daughters their Christmas presents - they have been through so much. I would love to have a special someone to share my life with, but I only go out to walk Madge, so do not meet any folk. Maybe I will meet someone one day, but in the meantime, I am happy to live alone with Madge, and hope for better times. I retired January 23, 2023, after working full time since 1982! I love being home, cooking, cleaning, gardening and walking. The pure freedom of not working is incredible. I am learning to become unbusy. I am truly enjoying savoring a slower lifestyle and the beauty of this season.

To be honest I’m still learning this lesson, but my main life lesson going into the new year is just to be patient. To accept that sometimes in life I will have to do things that I don’t want to do and that will make me uncomfortable. To understand that change is necessary and sometimes even hardship is necessary to get to where you need to be - but it won’t last forever and you will come out of it stronger and more joyful! That, yes, our time here is short and unpredictable, but I can’t use that as an excuse to avoid difficulty
After losing my life partner three years ago, I stopped everything; mostly living. In the past few months I have started to feel a bit of a rebirth if you will and while I continue to grieve his loss greatly, I’ve started to push on, taking care of myself both physically and more importantly, mentally. I learned more about the Lord Jesus this year. I learned to surrender to him. Life is hard, and I can not control anything. But God is good, and he cares for me and you all. Have a blessed rest of the year, every one.
I really learned to trust the Lord fully. His way is the best for each one of us. I hat so many miracles through the last few weeks in prayer. The biggest one of all is my brother getting free from drugs from one day to the other and only god did this. Praise him.
As I enter the last phase of my life, I am embracing my fears instead of running and hiding from them. After the worst of my fears came to pass and I saw how God created new paths for me that brought joy, I’m also embracing the reality of who I am and not the “fantasy me” that I idealize in others but are not authentic to who I AM. The freedom of these choices, the joy of these new journeys, and the peace and confidence of loving the sensitive, tender and empathetic soul I am is finally being nurtured by me. It’s made life glisten. May you continue to sparkle in the gentle soul that you are. What a blessed family when your beautiful 2 becomes 3! ❤💝😁
I have learned in a deeper way this year God's amazing love for me! It has helped me be more comfortable with who I am and be more brave to go out and do the things my heart is urging me to do! Interacting intimately with my Heavenly Father has helped me to learn to be more still and embrace the little gifts He showers on me throughout the day, usually a beam of sunshine highlighting a branch or a flower. Or the interactions of the beautiful little birds at the bird feeder. Or looking at a snowflake close up. All of these things make me feel loved and embraced. ❤
At 66, I've finally learned to let go. Especially of perfectionism, which is a cornerstone of eating disorders. We can't control everything ... only adapt to it. Blessings to all in 2024. 😊

Paola, I find it very interesting that many of your followers are in their 60's and beyond including me. I think we are all attracted to you because you are an old soul, a kindred spirit. Many of us relate to your honesty about being a sensitive person and needing space to process. For me personally, your words resonate with me. I feel so peaceful after watching one of your videos. You are doing the inner work at such a young age that helps you to know yourself and be authentically you. Bravo my dear! My awakening came much later as I entered my sixties. Better late than never though. God's timing is perfect and my husband and I after 43 years of marriage are finally learning how to listen, respond and stay in the present with each other. I feel so blessed that we've been given a second chance to be unselfish and kind and to truly love and support each other. This year i learned that self love is really important. Constantly putting everyone else before myself has wrecked me completely. Never standing up for myself so that i don't "make waves" has left me an empty shell of a person. Caring more for myself and letting go of any negativity will be my goal for next year❤

I have learned that a loss, from losing a beloved (s) companion--will not kill us--even though it feels like it will. The secret is to not shut down, but seek out more love, waiting to be found...as it is everywhere, if we keep our hearts open. God bless those who are going through grief...it's a hard road. Frankly this past year has been both demanding/demoralizing as I tackled some tough challenges in my own life. This year I tackled depression and anger, and I made it!! I am forever grateful for my imagination, the trees, the rain, and love. Fairytales and whimsical thoughts pushed me through. Ours are spent in air-conditioning or down on the white sands of the beach 🏖. What I have learned this year is that I need to be more kind to myself, that my random acts of kindness every time I go out bring just as much joy to myself as to the other person, that it is never to late to reinvent yourself, that as a mum, (or just in general) self care is not selfish... it's a priority. As you can't give or do your best if your running on empty. This year has been extra challenging for me. School, friends, family, relationship, I am always tested but I learned to accept the fact that everything is temporary and eventually we will move on with our lives. In my fifties and every day is a school day for me, this year Iam learning that Iam enough, just the way Iam. I have many faults and have failed at just about everything I have tried to do in life but it just doesnt matter. I live in my little cottage in the Scottish Highlands where I work with my hands and earn enough to scrape by but I have a deep happiness and calm that Iam surrounded by nature and feel blessed each and every day. At the age of 70, this past year has been my year to accept that life is always changing, there is always loss and gain. And I am making a conscious effort to make peace with the fact that this is so. I am learning to let go of my stories and expectations and open my heart to what gifts life presents on life's terms...not mine. I use the yoga nidra practice as meditation and am forming a relationship with a 'quiet' place within. And I have found that there is a great contentment growing within my heart. Every day is a miracle and I feel immensely blessed.

Love your channel! I'm in my 60s and had a brain bleed 4 years ago. I was living my life to the full at that point. Since then I realise how precious life is. I am even more present each day, even more grateful and thankful what each day offers. Work with the challenges, appreciate most things. I'm just getting over Covid. I live alone with my cats. I realized that when you go through a hard time unfortunately, there are a lot of people who don't really care all that much about you and there are others who surprise you with how much they do care. I consider myself a giving, thoughtful person, but after this experience I realize that it's not enough just to give someone something they may need when they are sick one time only, but it's important to continue to check on them thereafter. You are quite helpless when you live alone and are sick because you can't leave the house. Please remember that with people you claim to care about.

I learned it wasn't my fault that my husband committed suicide. I learned grief is a journey and everyone experiences it differently. It does not go away. You learn over the years to carry it with you, never leaving your loved one behind but carrying them with you. Grief is not a sign of weakness or a lack of faith; sometimes the harder you grieve the more you loved your person. Grief is a natural human emotion and don't let anyone tell you differently. I will always love my husband, David Merritt Slicer, died at 70 years old. Fly high David. Ryan and I love you.
