I love shopping at second hand bookstores but do you know you can also find some great books at charity stores?
Today, I wanted to kill some time as I played SHOCKINGLY on the golf course so I had to feel good and that meant, looking and hopefully, buying books.
I was in luck. A trip out to the Red Cross Opp (Opportunity) Shop in our local suburb saw me stumble into a new collection of books that had just come in and they were mainly literature and classics (pretty rare in a world of John Grisham and Maeve Binchy novels). Nevertheless, the volunteer at the opp shop handed me a bag and said the magic words....
"Fill this bag and it's all yours for $10".
Who was I to knock this back?
So I filled it up and this is what I hauled home.
Have you read any of these books? Let me know what you think.

Some great classics there. I loved I Capture the Castle. Also The Living Sea of Waking Dreams is such an emotional book make sure you have tissues handy. It does amaze me what can be found in second hand book sales. Great haul.

Hello Pedro and welcome. Thank you 🙏 for watching and sharing this lovely feedback. I enjoy reading books so I thought why not share what lessons and reflections I get from them. Along the way, I visit book stores, libraries and second hand shops to find books and I do videos on those too. Welcome to the channel, please share your own books you love too!

Thank you! Yeah I loved it too. So much so I added it as a book club book (I host a small book club here). Hope you’re well!

It started out great but then it got weirder and weirder. I could not be invested in it... but finished it and put it away (out of sight out of mind?). I wonder what you think of it. The Lady with the Lapdog by Chehov on the other hand was a nice, character oriented story. I love those birds chirping in your background.❤

@DefaultName-nt7tk ah yes it did. Since sharing this video I read Steppenwolf and yes, it did get weirder. It reminded me of those bizarre movies where the protagonist opens doors of a long corridor to be faced with some grotesque scenes. Anyway, I didn’t like his character. Thought he complained a lot. Yes, we have a lot of birds here. Mainly magpies and currawongs but the nicer ones are the honey eaters because they coo. They look like brown doves.
