Hi Ruby 🌼 I'm a viewer from Italy and I always watch your videos even if I rarely comment. Your poetic soul always makes me reconnect with the desire to cultivate love for the little things and for literature. Your videos are a gift for the soul and they make me want to explore England and its countryside. Watching these videos motivates me a lot to create art, write, make videos and explore 💚 thanks for sharing all this ✨

Ruby, I relate deeply to your lifestyle. I'm often teased for taking solo trips and enjoying so much of life by myself. People just don't understand it. Your videos reassure me that I have soul sisters around the world who share my interests. This is a wonderful video. I've always wanted to see the moors. Charlotte is my favourite writer of the Brontë sisters - Jane Eyre is one of the most atmospheric books ever written. Thank you for all you do. x

I just booked a trip to Paris - and I am going by myself. Nobody understands why I am not going with my boyfrieden, how I dare to visit "the city of love" on my own. I have never been there and surely want to see different things than my friends or my boyfriend would like to see. There is nothing weird for me about solo trips. And honestly... I think many people are just too scared to spend time alone or to break a "society's rule" or something.

This is just so comforting for my soul. As a fellow pluviophile it’s just gorgeous. Here in Australia we are in drought and in desperate need of rain. Everything is so brown and sunburnt. Smoke hangs in the air and chokes the sun turning it red. Seeing Yorkshire in the cold wet is soothing Thankyou

I'm from the North of Catalonia, and I spent the last 10 days solo travelling from Lancaster to Carlisle through the Lakes, doing some literary tourism, following the paths of John Ruskin, William and Dorothy Wordworth, Samuel Coleridge, Thomas de Quincey... This kind of trips "give life to thee", and that was one of the best experiences I've ever had, especially because going solo you talk to lots of different people. I'm glad you enjoyed it too, and highly recommend visiting the Lakes!

Hi Ruby! I'm from the Philippines and I rarely comment on videos, but this, this one is so wonderful. I live in the UK now and Wuthering Heights is one of my fave classics ( I especially loved how Bronte described the moors as one would describe people, and described the characters as one would the moors, and yet it makes more sense, it's genius really ), and you inspired me to go to Haworth and do this walk, hopefully soon. I appreciate your effort in capturing the moments and sharing them to us. You are truly an incredible soul. Please do more of these bookish trips please. You are made for this!

When you said you didn’t know about the random boulders on the moors - it was probably glaciers! They were so huge during the last ice age they carried very large boulders then when the glaciers melted the boulders were dumped, and that’s where they’ve been since! They’re called “erratics” ☺️

I'm from Yorkshire and I truly wish more of it was still like this and not just the countryside parts. Most towns are massively run down. It's sad to see the loss of history and culture in those parts. There's a beautiful square in the city I live in (in Yorkshire) that dates back to the 1700s and in the next few years it's going to be gentrified which is really sad.

I loved watching the BBC's "To Walk Invisible". The scene where Charlotte discovers Emily's poetry hidden in her room and reading part of "The Prisoner" over shots of Emily striding across the moors made me buy Penguin's "Emily Bronte: The Complete Poems". I'm not a big fan of poetry but these were something special. Oh and of course that heritage railway line is where "The Railway Children" was filmed.

Utterly joyous video, lots of high points, one, the mist forming over the moors as you begin reading the turbulent start of Wuthering Heights... the silver tea service and scones, the fabulously painted piece of furniture in the Bronte House, the lovely hotels and the Moors themselves and you spinning round with a big smile, this was so uplifting, thank-you so much for your detailed recording of your life and what you love, it must take so much effort and calculation, and time, but is so appreciated. This is amazing, thanks for putting in the effort to capture the trip! A video can't match being there in person but the atmosphere comes through so well especially because of the narration. Haven't explored the Brontë's writings before but I love it. It's melodic and flows naturally, almost feels like a spontaneous stream of consciousness and yet it captures the imagery so vividly. Great narration too!

You probably won't see this, but my family is from Yorkshire, & when I went over on my OE 29 (yikes!) years ago, I really felt like I was coming home. A weird feeling, but comforting at the same time. I adored the Moors, the intensity of the winter wind blowing me over, the scrubby grasses, the tiny rocks beneath my feet, the frosty air and grey sky. The village was adorable then, & still looks it now. The Parsonage was incredible, & I still have a photo of a younger me on my fridge, standing, grinning like an idiot in front of the Bronte Parsonage, and I loved every single second of my time there. Hello from New Zealand, by the way, and massive congrats about Oxford...good work!!!! 🙂

I enjoy tagging along on your adventures, you have a unique perspective on things and make everything seem so interesting. Although if "An American Werewolf in London" taught me anything it is to stay on the road and keep clear of the moors. Glad you're safe.

I loved this video so much. I moved to North Yorkshire just before Christmas and I love the North York Moors but you've inspired me to explore more of Yorkshire! I'm now going to have to re-read Wuthering heights!

Ahh this is such a lovely vlog Ruby! So glad you enjoyed Haworth, it’s one of my favourite places as my family is from there so this has made me want to go back very soon (and rewatch To Walk Invisible again) Love the Parsonage so much ❤

I have always lived in the North Yorkshire coast and I just love the beauty of Yorkshire. I'm so glad you loved the moors, we are not far from the North Yorkshire moors and like you love the bleakness and eeriness of them. What I love about sure I love are the contrasts of the pretty coastal villages, the green of the valleys and the bleak moors. I grew up in Whitby which inspired Bram Stokers Dracula. I've never been to Haworth but it's been on my bucket list for assessments only living around 2 hours away. Your video has made me want to visit even more.
