After the very sad news today of the disgraceful criminal felling of Robins Hoods tree, I had to find some footage of it, and here it is at 8:43. So very sad, a 300 year journey ended by undeserving man ? Thank you julesdingle.

Indeed cultural vandalism, clearly done by a professional with a large felling saw, I’m hoping the traffic cameras at Housesteads car park identify the culprit. It appears a very professional 16 year old is responsible.

didn't see any, but I fly from highways or private land. NT do have by-laws which I respect, but you are allowed to fly over their land and film their land.

@@julesdingle we all have our views, and yes i like the footage but here is the view of the national trust. I just add this because if this continues they will put up NFZ's through CAA and BIS and then we all lose out. should not be flown over people; as much of our land is open access we cannot guarantee an area, even if remote, is completely empty. ... The presence of can be detrimental to the enjoyment of our sites by other visitors. We therefore do not allow flying from or over land.

@@graemedarling2852 thew NT don't mind drones if you pay £250 to fly from their land, they are mainly concerned about loss of royalties for commercial photography [that is banned as well ] they do have the right to impose by-laws but not NFZ, and I doubt their commercial reason would be approved as NFZ effect everything. I stay with in the law, and respectful. Hadrian's wall is all our heritage.

@@graemedarling2852 BTW the NT only owns a short and narrow stretch of the Wall, its 70 miles long.
