Sorry if this video is a little bit outdated! It took a while to get the energy to make it. Thank you to everyone watching my videos, and please like, comment, and subscribe!
I've never been to one but watching clips from some shows in there last show when stuff gets near the end they seem to sort of act different . There's one of the last show of a chunky cheese and it's like they can tell it's there last show.
I'm not sure where else to say this but going off your YT Banner I am looking forward to the video you do on the Big Boy Graveyard. Those statues are very interesting especially knowing that one of the statues could still be in the woods along with its burger. (The one on its side)
@@cabbusses n actually. Originally, when Showbiz and CEC merged into one company CEC wanted the (copy)rights to the rock-afire explosion characters. Aaron (the creator of the rock-afire explosion aswell as the founder of Creative Engineering) refused and for right reason. With this, concept unification happened, aka the rock-afire explosion disappearing forever.
UPDATE: the whereabouts of some of the major majics bots are known! My friend Benji bought some of the characters, including Nickelodeon the piano, Burly Hives the bear, the talking drum, the alligator, and the hippo! While they are safe with Benji, sadly, Flash the Lion is not in the right hands as the person who owns him has no clue how to take care of him and has almost ruined him. 😢 Benji also has a full Rock-afire Explosion set up in his garage, and the major majics characters are in storage as he is getting a building ready for all of his animatronics. He invited me over to his house and I got to see his rockafire, and he showed me the major majics bots. His RU-vid channel is BENJI DOOK.
@@gogomonkey6341 oh yeah ok i see that, yesterday when i tried to click the timestamp it seemed to have gone to the wrong spot because it went to the clip of the chuck e cheese chef going into the kitchen and i watched that clip a million times looking for it, guess it was a glitch?
Like you said toward the end, I wasn't a 90s kid, but I love learning about the 90s. So, thank you for all the hard work and care you put into your videos. You make it easier and more entertaining to learn about all these cool things that happened before my time. This video was well worth the wait, and I look forward to your next one. :)
A great video as always! That Chuck E. Cheese you mentioned earlier happened to be my local store as well! Though every time I took a peek inside I never got a good glimpse of anything beyond where the arcade portion was (mostly due to the lighting/sun). There’s a picture or two of what the location after its closure where the animatronics were being packaged up and moved. More than a year later and I’m still not sure what has become of them. It’s also worth mentioning that the guy who ran Major Magic’s has come off as selfish and a bit egotistical, as he is actually in procession of multiple Major Magic’s shows with different cosmetics, has refused to get the show tapes for the show digitized as their condition worsens, amongst other things. I also can confirm that the customer service wasn’t great as they never responded to any questions or feedback online. (Also reports say that the pieces did eventually get auctioned off this year, but I haven’t found any proof of this).
I would really like to know where our old chuck e cheese animatronics are now. They were always in tip top shape, and I know management (at least a decade ago) really worked hard to keep them working. At least if they got packaged up, they weren't destroyed. I purposely didn't linger on the Major Magic's guy because I'd heard he was really full of himself and rude. Comparing his footage of the animatronics and old footage of the animatronics, he did NOT know how to take care of or program them. They were so stiff. Meanwhile Huckleberry Junction is still kicking.
@@SnellbyKay Yeah the 3-stage at CEC was always in good condition up until the very end I believe. The only issues I’ve seen is that the curtains were removed at one point and that for about a decade the Mr. Building and Mr. Moon props didn’t go up and down and just stayed in the upward position. Also Huckleberry Junction is still great. Daniel & The Dixie Diggers w/ Jethro are still entertaining and luckily in good working shape. We’re pretty fortunate to still have it near us since there’s only so many DATDD shows still in working shape these days.
@Andrew CB I used to talk to Dennis, and that is exactly how he was. He only got worse when you know who got in the White House, and he showed he was an even bigger prick.
@Snellby Reviews I'm glad you didn't waste much time on Dennis. I used to talk with him alot thru Fb messenger, and he was an egotistical jackass. People don't realize that I'm the one who found the contact info for the Sylvania property owner and [stupidly] gave it to him. He got real asinine after buying up the stuff, comparing giving copies of the showtapes to Coca-Cola giving a copy of their formula.
There is a Major Magic's show update! The characters recently showed up on ebay (most of them) and were sold. I know someone who owns 2 of them (Burly Hives (Banjo bear) and Nick O'Lodeon (Piano) and will be picking them up soon. If you are interested in who owns them, just let me know and i'll link their channel.
Thanks for letting me know! I was trying to get a video together about the sale, but October is my busiest month outside of youtube. I'd love to maybe do a collab in the future!
Munch’s Make Believe Band will forever hold a good place in my heart, and I’d do anything to at least own a Cyberamic Chuck E. Cheese. Overall, great video.
your brand of videos (especially on animatronics) is wonderful, definitely unlocked some odd memories, but very fun for it. it's very weird to see all of this happen when it was such a big part of some people's childhoods
the chuck e. cheese in my city still has all the og animatronics i’m honestly surprised they survived the pandemic. they dropped the price of their pizzas so low they basically survived off pizza sales during quarantine and now that they are opened on the inside again i’m scared they may not survive while being so short handed all the time (they have like 5 people who work there)
"but they will be remembered, and maybe that's all we can ask for." Spirit Halloween: let's fix that with a controlled shock(because spirit Halloween animatronics are still popular)
It's ironic that one of the advantages of animatronic was to save cost on actual live performers, but in the end, maintenance and spare parts became prohibitively expensive over time. One thing I noticed about Disney's animatronics besides their latest advancements in animatronic tech, is the way their character designs are stylized and how they properly utilize hair and fur material. Which is why they look hella less scary in appearance compared to others in animatronic pizza places IMHO.
wow the show performance at 6:00. i love how it contrasts from the instruments with a more mellow tune to the rebellion playing the beatles. incredibly sad to hear the revival resturaunt went out of business now as well. any idea of what will happen to the animatronics?
@x1WARRIOR1x that was part of their Beatles medley. It went from the Rebllion singing some of The Magical Mystery Tour, to the country bears singing Act Naturally, to the Magical Music Machines singing some of All You Need Is Love, back to the Rebellion (and eventually all 3 stages joining) with I Want To Hold Your Hand. Barbara, the fox, would tell the audience: "All of us here at Major Magic's _really_ appreciate The Beatles, and the magic their music has brought into our lives."
As someone who lives in the same county as Sylvania OH, Major Magic’s is definitely remembered. I myself am too young to have experienced it, but the previous generation definitely remembers it fondly. A lot of the arcade games from the restaurant were moved to the laser tag place “Q-Zar”, which resides in the same exact plaza complex. The area where Major Magic’s once stood is abandoned. I was really excited when I heard that there would be a new one in southeast Michigan, but COVID happened and ruined the whole thing. I wish I could have gone at least once, but oh well. At least I celebrated my 5th birthday at Chuck E. Cheese! I still remember that 13 years later. :-)
You should really cover Aaron Fecthor’s rampages with copyright, taking down videos of fans and that one time he said the N word is barely talked about and I really think you should on a third part focusing on Aaron
Great video, glad I found this channel when I wanted to relive some Autoworld memories! I had a digital camera stolen in that exact Chuck E Cheese when my child set it down for a second about 12 years ago. They were like "yeah jackets and shoes go missing all the time"... I can't believe you don't have more subs, clean edits and great voice over.
A few years before my sister and I were born my dad said there was a Major Magic's in our area. By the time we were old enough, the restaurant had closed. 😞
Sitting here at 19 years old and I’m truly sad. I wish I never had to grow up. That time of being a little kid with no stress No phones people actually socialized and not a care in the world was the best feeling in the world was amazing. Im even more sad that kids today will never get to experience what I experienced standing in front of that stage stuffing my face with terrible card board pizza but just being amazed by the anamantronics show. And that’s a time I’ll never be able to revisit.
They opened up some locations here in Western New York, I am almost positive that my location is the one that got the keyboard gorilla from Showbiz, only bc I remember it scaring the crap out of me. Otherwise, we used to love going there.
@@ArickSzymecki Ah. I was born in the mid 80s, and we only went to MM, so I think it was def the Amherst one then. I don't remember a CeC that early on, but it's been so long
@@foxiesque3352 was inside the thruway mall. had to have closed about 85-86 as my last memory of being there was for a birthday party where the kid got the entire transformer's G1 Devastator.
major magics had a retrofitted billy bob and beach bear too which were eventually turned back into the rockafire characters after it closed, the billy bob mech was turned into the fox who had a longer neck and when they turned it back into billy bob they kept the long neck for some reason, also when they turned the other character back into beach bear they kept the face mold of the major magic's character on him so he looked much different
@SnellbyKay Thanks for these videos. In your research, did you come across any mention of a knockoff animatronic restaurant in New Jersey that had a name that included a precious metal (Silver or Golden) and was southern/western themed, or Western-expansion/gold rush themed? I thought it was Silver Nugget or Golden Nugget, but the internet only shows hotel and casino chains now when I try to find more info. Thanks!
now shut sad the industry is going down but we have fnaf fans with build they favourite characters to life Disney and restorers now lets watch some king animatronics preform bc someone has brought them back to entertain
I so enjoyed part 1 I was really excited to see this follow up! I have fond memories seeing the Chuckie Cheese animatronics when I was little, but I didn't really knew anything about the other chains. Very high quality like all your videos. Keep up the great work!
I found the Fatz/Rock-afire Explosion poster that was taped on the door of your local Chuck E. Cheese’s (2:19) to be really funny and charming, but at the same time it really irks me that almost everyone blames CEC for SPP going out of business. If you actually do any research on concept unification, it’s almost entirely SPP’s own fault (and some fault of Aaron Fechter as well) that they went out of business, and not much of CEC’s fault. SPP basically gave Fechter two choices: to give up the rights to his animatronic band basically for free, or for his animatronic band to stop being used entirely in their restaurants (which would and eventually did leave the Rock-afire Explosion to be much less successful than Fechter had planned and hoped for. In some ways, he’s one of the biggest victims of concept unification.) Remember, Showbiz Pizza Place bought out Chuck E. Cheese’s in 1984, not the other way around. This means that Showbiz was the owner of both companies and were the ones making all of the big decisions. *They* [SPP] were the ones who created and carried out the idea of concept unification, and because Chuck E. Cheese’s was their only other asset, their only available choice was to turn the Rock-afire Explosion into Munch’s Make Believe Band, or else all SPP locations would have ceased to continue existence in any capacity.
I feel like anyone who has an interest/hobby in this kinda thing probably knows all the details...buuut at the same time it's just easier to outright blame CEC for the loss of Rockafire...because unfortunately, the CEC characters were just better known. I didn't even know about Rockafires existence until 2008, and, for as much as I adored my balcony CEC...I would've gone BERSERK with glee if I'd had a Rockafire show to enjoy when I was younger in the 80's. Saying all that, I find it amusing to think in an alternate reality, the Rockafire show was the one chosen to be the head runners. Then during their closings a poster with CEC's mug slapped on a door blaming Rockafire for his loss would pop up in this video instead. ...I mean seriously, can you imagine? While we're at it lets make 'Circus Playhouse' have been more popular and wide spread, now that THAT was a wild show.
Yes! I know that location had a bad rep, but whenever we went (which was always really early in the morning) staff was chill and the pizza was hot. I thought about calling to see if I could film before the closure was announced, but didn't think I had enough clout (I had about 300 followers at the time).
5:14 and 5:18 That's not 100% true. (Well with The Rock-afire at least) Here's a video by sptproductions that explains this. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CXar8DDUG4U.html
Tho it’s sad that Chuck E. Cheese’s are closing, The this is is what you get for messing with fatz and the rock afire explosion made me chuckle a bit. Sorry
If I Could Buy Major Magic It A Be A More Update Children Entertainment, I Live In The Same Town As The Oldest One When I Moved To Clinton Twp Michigan With My Parents It Closed A Month After A Month After We Moved To Our House There COVID-19 Started, I Live Around The Corner From That Major Magic
3:03 he’s Italian…..but says bonjour lol. Obviously not a big deal haha just found it funny. Unless this vid/restaurant was in Quebec (was CEC in other countries?)
As much as I hate to see the animatronics in public entertainment buildings like CeC go away, at the very least Disney still keeps a wide variety of animatronics (some of which are incredibly impressive, like the avatar one) still around. I'd love to see a video of reviews on them at some day, although it's understandable if it's more of a difficult topic to research due to the locations being restricted to only Disney world and land rides, most of which can't really be recorded I believe.
I had no clue Major Magics tried to make a come back! I remember as a kid when my father tried to surprise me and bring me to the West Seneca, NY location and they had closed.
my mom went to major magics. My grandpa showed me this picture where she stood in front of an animated drum with a face. I wanted to find this and found it out of no where while writing a book about animatronics and mostly listening and somewhat watching this video
i rember the good old days i even worked at the majior magic's in clinton township! it's sad because i oddly live about 1/2 mile from their it was right next to the star gratiot and even it was a jeepers for a short time but as of 12/30/22 it sits vacant
Chuck e cheese and his friends never really existed where i live in europe. I did not learn about them untill my early teens when fnaf was popular. I feel very nostalgic for them dispite the closest to seeing an actual animatronic band like that perform were videos on youtube.
Same here :( It does turn out that here in England there was one animatronic restaurant/arcade called Hannah Banana featuring: a Welsh Monkey mascot (the title character) and Billy Bob and Loony Bird from the Rockafire Explosion. It opened in 2008 I think but closed 1/2 years later. I'm really sad I never got the chance to visit.
Isn’t it so sad that the state of animatronics is at a All Time Low animals animatronics are usually scrapped or abandon to rot and we need to do something about it before the death of animatronics #saveanimatronics
There are! Some examples are Cross-Eyed Critters in Nashville TN (a recently opened adult karaoke bar where the animatronics back you up), Huckleberry Junction in Flint MI (they have a functioning well-maintained Sally Corp Daniel dog band there), and Billy Bob's Wonderland in Barbersville WV (their rock-a-fire explosion animatronics were in really bad shape, but I've heard that they've recently been restored).
Wow, as a person from Michigan I love learning about animatronics and their restaurants that existed here. Sadly I was born to late to ever see them in their prime and I've only ever seen 1 chuck e cheese here in Michigan which i believe was shut down during 2020 for my 11th birthday. I am happy that people still care about them and restore them and I'm glad there is still a community about them so they aren't just forgotten to time.
Can you review Billy Beez next? My sister has been taking her son there, but I don't know too much about it. My sister says it better than Chuck E. Cheese but it's way more expensive.
Oh I hadn’t heard about this place! It looks like it’ll fit better into my future Discovery Zone video, but thank you so much for bringing it to my attention!
I hope that one day, JUST ONE DAY. Major Magic's might come to the UK so I can give a big hug to a SGT. Pepperoni walk around costume. He's just too cute
There was this one pizzeria I forgot the name about and it makes me feel bad. The cast was a dog animatronic, and purple hippo (or elephant), and reskin of chuck e. cheese. There was more, I just forgot.
