The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway was the first privatised line ever completed by British Rail in the 1960s after being bought by the Keighley and Worth Valley Light Railway Company. Since the acquisition the line has been a great success gaining fame from its consistent use as a filming location and continues to be one of the few heritage lines in the United Kingdom in its entirety. But the public information about what preceded the heritage of the line is little covered online so I'd thought I would fill the void. As always, thanks for watching Thoroughfare!

Does the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway still there or does it not exist anymore. If not then I think it should reopen.

The KWVR does still operate it was one of the first lines to be sold off to a private company by BR! Like many heritage railways that operate as soon as closure was announced a group of enthusiasts and locals banded together to begin the effort to reopen the line with the said group eventually buying the line and operating it to this day! They've just revealed as a heritage line huge news plans for a new engine shed for diesel locomotives as well as the possibility of creating regular commuter service along the route as well! So to cut a long story short, yes.

It was closed in the early 60s due to the Beeching axe I think but some people refurbished it
