That was the sound of me crawling out the door and underneath the camera tripod without bumping it. Eva filmed me getting out and put it at the end of the video.
Please look up the price on their website. It's not my place to try to sell or dissuade anyone from their well built products. I have had nothing but great service from Sidereal Trading in the past. I live in Canada. For those that can afford this product it will be great. It is in my personal opinion out of reach of the average back yard astronomer. I was hoping that it was in a competitive price range with NexDome which needs to be assembled.
Obviously made for a scope on a pier but even with that a 17"CDK would fit maybe but with no room for a human occupant. At $25K for that little thing I can have a roll off roof structure built AND buy me a nice scope to put in it! I'll pass on the 'dome'!
Very nice but really, for $25k I could build four 10x10 roll off roof observatories on concrete bases. I’m guessing their target audience in 60+ who’s building days are over.
Hi, Brian! 🙂 Yep. Spending cash on a hobby you love is fine, but you have to factor-in the messy divorce settlement and who gets custody of the kids... 😁
Well, I've been in and out of that door so many times now. It's meant as a remote dome that you don't normally enter, but if you're a really beefy astronomer you might have trouble.
people buy single OTA's for twice, thrice, sometimes even quadruple that amount. Add a mount to carry an OTA in that price class and youre easily exceeding 100k. If you have that kinda money, youll have another 25k for a dome.
