I think comparing the Insomniac and Avenger's costumes is plenty fair, sure square enix had to develop costumes for other superheroes, but spider-man was a DLC character who was made in a separate development process, I.E. it's likely that spider-man's DLC was treated as an independent development project, additionally alternate costumes are the main thing Marvel's Avengers is designed around, they're what the game's economy was centered around, and conversely, alternate suits are the main collectable in Insomiacs game. The two should have the similar amounts of effort and care put into them.

The Spider-Man Noir rant is interesting to me. Because if we’re really going to sit down and objectively look at what brought the character to popularity, it was Shattered Dimensions. Noir was introduced in 2009, while SD was released in 2010. 1 year time gives them plenty of time to experiment with how his costume should look. Hell, most artists can’t even decide whether Spider-Man’s web armpits exist or not, to this day. Both designs look fine, and now that it’s been 10+ years of this character existing, the coat/vest combo is probably his final design. So, either have him in a coat or not, both work fine as representing his original design.

Man now you’ve made me hope we see a trench coat on the noir suit in Spider-Man 2. Maybe even some other suits that have elements with cloth physics or something too.

Tobey McGuire's Insomniac Suit looks like it came straight out of the Spider-Trilogy. Having seen that movie at 10 yrs old, that Spidey will always be my Spidey. Insomniac did a great job. It leans more toward SM2 than SM1.

Bringing up the overly orange red on Insomniac's Classic suit, I always found it quite odd that this is a lot less pronounced on the torn up version of the suit. The damaged version of the suit is toned down a bit to make it look dirty but it makes the red look a lot more red imo.

Have to disagree with some of the noir takes. The lense and holster in the insomniac version are easily my favourite parts of the suit, the black goggles really gives noir more personality. Great video though, keep it up

Spider-Man‘s suits is another example of why I wish the avengers game let you pick and choose which parts of the costume you wanted to wear. The classic suit is almost perfect, and if you could just swap out the head with the bugle boy suit, it would be a 10 out of 10 to me. That doesn’t fix the Gameplay loop. You would have to suffer through to play as it, but at least you would get a damn good Spider-Man suit.

As a fan of Secret War costume I'm glad that they keep putting it into new games even tho there's not much of it in comics and all the "sense" thing.

I didn't like MCU Peter either but he definitely redeems himself and the two other films retroactively through NWH. Has me excited for the future of the character again since NWH actually felt like a Spider-Man movie. Also considering how Holland voted for the ending where everyone forgets Peter, I feel like as long as he plays the character and has a say in the role, I'm a little more optimistic.

After your video on Thor I’d love if you took a look at Black Widows costumes. Her Classic Stealth Suit costume is one of my favourite costumes from the game since it’s just a nice simple catsuit, although sometimes I wish we had the option to zip it up all the way instead of it always being unzipped down to the bottom of her neck. Other than that I’m interested to hear your thoughts on the costumes that ditch the catsuit and instead make her wear a generic sweater

Personally, I would like to see you cover Ms. Marvel after the Thor video. She has some pretty decent costumes, but that's probably due to Sana Amanat breathing down their necks to make sure she has some good outfits, especially her Iconic suit.

I honestly prefer the advance suit over the iconic suit.

Miles Morales in his game has some of the dopest costumes I've ever seen by far, literally every single one of them suits is fire. Peter will always be the GOAT but Miles is 100% the Drip King

insomniac does have a negative suit idk why you didn't mention it but maybe you didn't mention it because the negative suit in-game is a recolor of the advanced suit but I prefer that as a negative suit to the avengers one the white has a bit of blue and it glows the black is a better shade and the suit colors have a bit of animation so I think it's better

I feel like I've been tricked with a monkey's paw after years of having trenchcoatless Spider-Man Noirs in video games and it was Avengers of all things that actually gives him his coat.

Uncle Ben did exist in the MCU, it's just that by the time we meet Peter he has already died, also the ending of NWH gives Peter exactly what you were trying to say he was missing now that everyone has forgotten him. We even see him in what looks to be a parallel of Tobey's apartment from Spider-Man 3, so that money problem is going to exist and now more then ever he is no longer "Iron Man Jr." as we saw at the end of the movie when he's swinging in his comic accurate classic suit because his suits tech no longer recognized him therefore he cannot use it anymore (otherwise why would he just be in a new suit for no reason) and last but not least I feel this should have been obvious but the supporting cast will almost definitely be leagues better in the "collage trilogy" or at least I thought that should be obvious And no me defending Tom's Spider-Man is NOT me trying to white knight for him and say that in his movies he was "the best Spider-Man" or anything like that. Do I like his Spider-Man? Yes for sure, but I like them all and they ALL have their own strengths and weaknesses (Yes I do mean all of them. We can't lie to ourselves here forever.) Lastly for real this time, I will at least give props to you for admitting your heavy bias

Imo Into the Spider-Verse has the best design for Spider-Man Noir, the lenses, coat and addition of the Fedora look great and I think its much better than both this game and Insomniac's Spider-Man

The biggest shocker to me is despite Sony paying to have Spider-Man exclusive to their system, they didn't also push to have any Insomniac designs as well along with the others you've mentioned.

If they made a new model for the Big Time Suit then they could've had the Red and Blue modes alongside normal Green, we all know how much the team loved recolors

The recolors of the bugle boy outfit reminds me of those Spider-Man Elsa videos or surprise toy videos for kids where they just change the color of Spider-Man’s suit

At least in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, the blue of the classic Insomniac suit is a dark blue when it's not midday. Looks better in my opinion because the blue is still clearly visible even at night. It's the same as Cad Bane's skin color, it depends on the light

Noir suit is goddamn masterpiece for me. He is my favorite version of Spidey and I felt very disappointed when Insomniac gave him the usual vest

Yeah I've never liked the advance suit, though I think it's mainly cause the leggings are almost entirely blue instead of having more red around the calf.

As a fan of Tom Holland's Spider-Man (Who is basically my third favorite live action Spider-Man) I respect your opinion on Tom Holland's Spider-Man character, You can also blame Avi Arad for Basically ruining his character.

Huh I always thought that the spider armour's were always titled mark I-IV in the comics , and the title 'bulletproof' , 'ends of the earth' and 'all new all different' were just aliases given by spider man unlimited and / or just titles of the arc they were used in

Ok so this could just be me guessing but I believe the reason why they gave the Noir outfit the extra piece of fabric on his trench coat was to fit with his whole Detective theme, as most renditions of Detectives in modern stuff (Sherlock holmes and the old-fashion Batman detective gear shown in Batman: the Brave and the Bold) show them wearing a trench coat with a extra piece on it. Now I could be 100% wrong, but it's just a design idea :) Honestly a really good version of Noir, and that's coming from someone who grew up on Shattered Dimensions!

I like the trench coat for the noir suit, problem is that there are soo many of the same suits just with different colors. Some ok, some just basic.

In all honesty, the Stark Suit (Civil War/Homecoming), is the best suit. I like how it looks like the the cartoon version of Spider-Man I used to watch, but different and I feel it looks slick. I like the back logo looking a lot like what I used to see as a kid, friendly looking spider logo, and the front one but it’s more technical. I genuinely love the black lines, and this is not because I am a Tom Holland fanboy cause I am a dead biased Tobey stan. And the reason why Tom’ doesn’t really have that money trouble is because we saw iron man. And at civil war, we saw he was a dumpster diver with all those bad looking techs he had, but then homecoming we see that maybe a certain someone helped him a bit. But if we are going to talk about not having money problem then Andrew’s Spider-Man is the perfect definition. He lives in a nice house and everything. But Tobey’s isn’t as great, I think the one is from Insomniac’s version, and it’s the best.

The anad costume was my favorite to use in spidey ps4, the coloring looked great especially in the city at night

I played insomniacs Spider-Man and the game is great but when I play avengers which has become my comfort game, Spider-Man is my go to for the sole reason being the noir suit, that trench coat is so bad ass and I never change it and if I do I always go back to it

Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 replaces the Noir suit with the Into the Spider-Verse Noir Suit (which means he has the coat and hat).

Definitely agree it was prolly Sony and a lil bit of Disney breathing down Crystal Dynamics back making these suits, and I learned something new about Noir's costume huh! I cannot wait on your video on Thor and Clint/Hawkeye or Mighty Thor but I think you might lump Jane into the main Thor video lol. Wished that we gotten more obscure or what if suits to compete the amount of overlap like the what if Peter was the Punisher suit (it may be just a black suit but its so cool) or Peter Ross/ Spider-Boy suit as it's one of my favorite obscure suits and character.

I had a spiderman encyclopedia when I was younger, and remember very vividly the suits being called Mark 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the book, and the book came out around 2015-2017, but still I find that interesting that insomniac is the only source that you could find where they were called that. Still a neat video!

I actually like ends of earth suit more in the avengers game. But it’s pretty close other than that I agree with your list. Expect for the iron spider suit. I like it more in insomniac.

I think what you said about the MK 3 is completely the other way round the insomniac one literally looks like a plastic cosplay suit and it's made worse by the light up eyes

I don't see a problem with the holster.

The thing, for me personally, is that Spider-MCU is clearly not comic accurate. Not a lot of the MCU is. But that makes it cool in its own way. I personally really like Spider-MCU. He's funny and has interesting character development. Is he as good as more comic accurate renditions? No, not really. But that doesn't make it 'bad' outright. Think of it as yet another alternate timeline. At least I do.

I find some ratings odd. Spider armor being "okay" and having numerous criticisms yet gives it an 8/10?

this is the first time in one of these videos where I didn't have a visceral reaction of disgust with half of the costumes, I actually liked a lot of them for once, maybe I'm just a big fan of spider-man, or maybe its just hard to screw up a good spider-man costume. I actually liked the lens thing in his main costume, I haven't played the game, but it looks subtle enough to give it some visual interest without being ugly or flashy, I think it looks like he could have a hud or some sort of display in his lens'

I've always loved Holland's spiderman portrayal. Why? Because it was different. He felt like Spiderman without condescending his origin to us, I enjoyed it because It meant the plot was very willing to do something different to what we normally see from the character. This was the first time we could see Peter hanging out with another superhero, so they ran with it and it ran very well in my mind. I personally believe the time Peter and Tony spent together both serviced their arcs. Since the MCU is much more interconnected than the comic books tend to be, this avenue is the only way I can see making an original spiderman movie that doesn't stay within the shadow of Sam Raimi's work. However as far as comic accuracy goes, I feel like we cannot in the current state of the MCU judge how accurate Tom Holland's films have been... Because it took us three movies to get where we were supposed to start. I personally love this approach, the home trilogy is basically all one single origin film with the premise that we already know what a Spiderman film looks like. It was half way through spiderman NWH where I realised that's the approach they are going for, we're jumping into a spiderman film during the second act. I however am really glad we are getting the uncle Ben and year one stuff in an animated TV show because I wanna know exactly what that looks like in the MCU. And going forward, I would be incredibly surprised if the films weren't significantly more accurate to the college era of comics because they have no excuse to not adapt them since neither the Raimi trilogy or TASM tried! And I've been reading through those stories and I think they'd be incredibly fun to see onscreen. Edit: for reference, I think that Andrew Garfield from NWH is the most accurate depiction of Spiderman. Lol.
