I've been through Barbourville. It's a nice town, although its Walmart isn't as big as Walmart in Harlan, or even as bigger as Super Walmart in Corbin, Middlesboro, and Jonesville, VA.
Right where your starting the vid, was the old A&P, back in high school, & grade school, 1977, & high school, 80 thru 84, on friday & sat nights, all the hot rodders would hang out right there in the parking lot, then they would set up drag racing, great times, & if ya look ahead, that where the Burger Queen was, now a DQ,
Ignited Coyote oh yeh ? I really think a cozy little 12-15 laner would be perfect. Give people something to do especially in winter. Plus I can serve wings and beer now. Heck yeh I’d do it in a heartbeat
Ignited Coyote absolutely! It’s been a dream of mine forever. If I could find some good lanes and pin setters from a closed down alley I’d be 1/2 way there. Wings, beer and bowling, now that’s Americana, Wildcat Lanes, corny I know but it sounds cool to me lol
@@IgnitedCoyote close to the old IGA Location .The Funeral home rear parking lot was right next to Allision Ave.I Know the old house of my Great Aunt And Uncle Is Long Gone. I Haven't been back since 1979.Spent summers there visiting with my MaMaw. I Have A Trip Planned for 2020 From what I Saw On Your Drive Things Have Changed a lot over the years.I Remember fishing the Brickyard Pond now it is some kind of water park i understand. My MaMaw had a little Apartment at 119 Allision Ave It was a Low Income Housing at the time i remember her being on a waiting list. Sorry for this Babbling.Thank You For The Video
Ignited Coyote I still can’t believe it’s wet now, I remember having to go to Flat lick or Higgins holler to the bootlegger. Or all the way to the gap or Richmond.
@@hatchetjackphillips honestly it took a little of the magic out of it when that town went wet. We used to go down home every summer for weeks at a time. My brother and I ran around with my cousins like a bunch of wild Indians, I sure miss those days in the 70’s and 80’s
