I thought it was more "The Three Amigos" + "The Seven Samurai," primarily because the so-called Warriors are under the impression they are there for entertainment, rather than as hired muscle. It's only after the reality sets in, and after a pep-talk that the circus bugs do what they can to fight for the ants. The samurai, though, always knew how to fight, and had every intention of doing so once they were making their way to the village. The same goes for "The Magnificent Seven."

@GuineaPigEveryday

dude come on Kurosawa is one of the most famous filmmakers of all time, most people know him without even having seen any of his movies, let alone the amount of casual, to nerdy film fans that watch his stuff or cite his influences, let alone filmmakers themselves that always mention him. This isn't 1920s-1950s black-and-white movies we're talking about that next to no young people have seen. He has probably the most popular black-and-white movies by far. Please, don't sound like a pretentious film buff.

@@GuineaPigEveryday "Please, don't sound like a pretentious film buff." Ironically, I think you've done exactly that. So much vitriol for a 5 year old comment. I have an opinion and an experience with something and you insult me for it because it doesn't perfectly correspond with your own. I'm glad that those around you seem to know about Kurosawa, but please don't act as if your experience is that of everyone else. I've never met a single person in my home town that recognized his name when I asked them about it. That is a fact, and that is why I made my comment. I'll continue to spread awareness of his works, even if that somehow makes me pretentious, because I think film history should be revered, not forgotten, and it brings happiness and connections to those in my life.

Just because you live in the sticks where everyone is stupid, doesn't mean culture and the world at large doesn't no of Kurosawa. ask any film student and they know him. ask any Japanese or east Asian person and they will know him. ask anyone interested in Japanese culture, they will know him. you mistake experience for facts. I live in a small town where everyone is a uncultured ignorant American, for the most part. so what? I'm not an idiot like you who believes that their town represents the majority of cultural awareness, I understand where I come from and I understand culture. you are the epitome of a pretentious pompous fool. again, my intention isn't one of hate or insult. I actually asked someone who worked on A Bug’s Life about the film’s inspiration and he said that the movie was originally more of a remake of Seven Samurai and the original title of the film was “Seven Bugs”. The original version stayed more close to the original movie in terms of its story, but when they decided that the film would be about circus bugs that were mistaken for warriors instead, that lead to them changing the title. He pretty much said that Pixar in no way were hiding that they were making an animated remake of or loosely based on Seven Samurai.

I'll never forget watching Seven Samuari for the 1st time & thinking, "wait, A Bug's Life homaged this!!!". Then I began to notice that every movie ever made has homaged/ripped off Seven Samurai.

I feel like you are trying to talk too much like Nerdwriter here or in a "smart" voice. I think your old cadence in past videos like Treasure Planet was better and unique.
@Medietic4
@Medietic4 6 лет назад
Yea it got really weird towards the end of this video. The cadence had an odd pause for the last word of every sentence. Strange too since the beginning of the video wasn't that way.

Like HOLY SHIT you really know how to tie everything around. Can't even explain myself jesus you are talented! Btw was watching every frame a painting yesterday and came by his Akira Kurosawa video which contained parts of The Seven Samurai and couldn't stop myself from thinking about how similar your content is to each other and BAM today you upload a video on exactly that, the coincidence is unbelievable.

I actually love the way you talk. The way it's not paced up to become another info-channel, the way you use your calm register to soothe me in the late evening, the pauses that emphasize every word. This is how I prefer people talking about meaningful topics: Like it's actually meaningful and somewhat deep. The others who seem to hate the pauses in the comment section; you can speed it up to x1.5 as you do on audiobooks. For me, this is perfect, Mr. Bread. It is absolutely needed and you are absolutely appreciated. Love you love you love you, good night.

i just wanna say i am absolutely enamored with the way you can tell a story. you speak the way about movies i wish i could but you have so many other aspects of your story telling that just add depth, which i think is funny because your videos are structured to do the same thing
