The part where Charlie's ghost appeared at the end made me cry. It reminded me of one time when I was watching TV with my mom, when I felt the air shift. Suddenly out of the corner of my eye I see the silhouette of a wiener dog, lying alongside my mom's lap. I quickly look over to find exactly that, my old dog Izzy who has passed just a year earlier, looking at me with loving eyes waiting for a treat. Within the second I looked at her, she faded away-almost like they do in movies-and it seemed as though she blended perfectly with her portrait tattooed on my mom's arm. The whole thing felt as though she was really there in her usual spot on my mom's lap, snuggled under the covers, watching TV with us. I am crying just thinking about her, we truly don't deserve these animals and it is a true shame their time on this Earth is so short. So I want to thank you for sharing Charlie's legacy with us, he seemed like a good pup!

I'm a simple man. I see a dog cartoon, I watch it. It's just science. I got a dog similar to that now, a basset hound/rottweiler mix. Same size as a basset hound, but all the strength of a rott. He's a quick little dog, but I love him to pieces.

We had a winer dog named Charlie. One time during Thanksgiving, someone left a chair near the food table. He got up, grabbed a leg, walked through the living room where everyone was eating, and went to the door to be let out in the yard. He thought he could just walk out with a whole terky leg.

My German shepherd has the biggest baby eyes known to man. He got more compliments than I ever will. We randomly find him on any bed possible and gives the “I’m not here” look. Absolutely love him ❤

His name was Sammy, and we got him when when I was around 14 (I'm 37, for context). He was between 4 to 7 years old when we got him, as he was a stray that lived in the town I went to school at, but everyone in town loved him and fed him when they could, so he never wanted for food. Sometimes he would get forgetful and wander off into the woods for days, only to return on his own time like he never left. Sadly, we only had him for about four years as he passed near the end of my senior year of high school, but he was a good dog. I miss his droopy face.

he is likemy golden retriever Buddy, he was so nice and smart, he howled like wolves on our farm as we sang at a camp fire, Buddy loved the Snow and loved making Snow Angels and more, Buddy always asked for treats politely too, he would go over where they were, bark, wait for us to come and then bark again asking if he could, god that golden retriever was my best friend... he also love to sit with his back paw stretch outwards and when he was comfy, he'd let out a big old sign saying... yeah this so comfy

My Basset was the same amount of smart and stubborn! Always getting into trouble and then looking at you like "what are you going to do about it?" I love him so much.

Fun fact: what Charlie did where he placed his legs behind him is known as “Splooting”

My family never had a basset hound, but we had a beagle named Ollie. He was my mom's dog. He unfortunately passed away from some kind of neurodegenerative issue, judging from the seizures and lack of motor control. To this day, Mom still says "Ollie was an a**hole". He bit our new neighbor's dog's ear just days after we moved in. Every time we'd go to the dog park, he'd run to the other side of everything and bay, loudly. When we got a third dog to try being a playmate with our second dog, fights were common and everyone involved was monitored. Still, he was really cute and would curl up with my mom anytime there was thunder, fireworks, or any unpleasant loud noise. Every other dog (the 5 others we've had) were Dad's dogs, but Ollie was Mom's.

When Charlie was staring into space, I think he must’ve gotten hypnotized when he looks at a vegetable. He goes nuts.

Oh this video makes my heart warm. We used to have a half basset half blue heeler. Yes she was the sassiest dog I've ever known, bless her soul. All dogs are special in their own ways, but after having two half-bassets I'm very endeared to them. I love their silly little awoos.

My grandparents had bassets hounds throughout my childhood. The most recent basset hound was Peaches. Peaches loved other dogs, attention and treats but HATED walks. She was a rescue and used to be a show dog before being my grandparents lapdog so I was confused why she hated walks so much. She was so slow too! It would take an hour to get 10 minutes away from the house but as soon as we said ''Shall we go home?'' she would run faster than any basset hound I've seen 🤣. She died a few months ago and I miss her soo much. This video was kind of nostalgic as Peaches would do similar things to Charlie :P. During winter my grandparents would wrap her head up in a hood so her ears didn't get too cold and I would call her my little babooshka ❤
