I was doing my recycling work the day before yesterday i seen a train coming toward me so i stop and waved at the guy and opened his window and waved back at me along with a horn salute i thought that was pretty cool .
Hey Scott, another awesome video my friend but anyway, I wanted to tell you that they tied down a loaded grain train yesterday morning on the siding in my little town where I live down here in Louisiana, so I got on the engine and talk to the engineer and the conductor, because I knew both of them But anyway I went back up there this morning to see if they had left with it yet and it was still sitting there but why I was there I counted Timmy‘s name three times on those NS grain cars and then I looked at the signal and I had a double red so that man a train was coming south and I got to hear him talking and it was a loaded coal train, and no sooner that it cleared the signal the signal went back, red and here, another loaded coal train, and then about 10 minutes after that another loaded grain train was behind the two loaded coal trains I said now you know I was at the right place at the right time but anyway, my friend you stay safe out there and stay cool and hydrated and as always you watch your back brother and we’ll see you on the next one, but those trains was headed to New Orleans
Sounds like you hit the jackpot in the luck department to get trains that close together Timmy. I always watch for Timmy on the grain cars. I got him in Hamilton on Wednesday for the first time in a month or so! Have a great weekend!

Carol, I playing catch-up on my train videos, got behind 2 days because of having to take care of Ministry problems and issues. Starting looking at Scott's video, buckeye freight railin, Adventureswith Joey Boats and Jaw Tooth. each video is about 30 minutes, starting catching up for last 4 hours, it will take about another 4 hours to be completely caught up. When Buckeye Yard was busy during the Conrail years and early NS, there was constant trains on the Dayton District. It's a shame it's gone now. Great video Scott!
@@1960gambit I read somewhere that when Dayton still had all the GM plants, 2-3 trains a day between Buckeye and Dayton were auto parts trains. Plus there was no PSR then. I live by the Dayton District here in Columbus and most trains are 2 in 1. So if we didn't have psr there could be up to 12 a day.
My eldest brother lived in Fairborn and was a Civilian USAF employee at Wight-Pat. Was always a fun time visiting the Dayton area. I'll never forget my first time touring Wright-Pat and the USAF Museum. Our Scout troop took a trip and slept in old barracks on the base. My dad went as a BSA Committee member and helped with our 23 boy troop. As I toured around with dad, I'll never forget seeing him tear up while looking at the Enola Gay. When we bombed Hiroshima to help end WWII, dad was a Flightline Engineer and Mechanic on the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt on Iwo Jima. The B-29 flew off Siapan and flew right over Iwo en route to Japan. The flight crews had been told there were no sorties that day for the Fighter/Bomber Squadrons. Once the B-29 had returned and landed back on Siapan. The officers told the men what had happened. I had never seen my father cry before that day...I'm sure it was both tears of joy (ending the war) and pain (from all the Americans lost while fighting the Japanese). 1960gambit, you're just a trip down memory lane for me with your railfanning trips. You seem to hit areas I've visited or spent time in. Have you ever gone further south into the Pocahontas Coal Fields of WV or southwestern Virginia (around Roanoke)?? There are lots of memories and ties to that area, too. And great railfanning!!
Glad you enjoyed it. I haven't been to Wright-Pat Museum since I was about 9 years old. I hear it`s a fantastic place now. I would like to get down to Roanoke at some point, but that is definitely a 2 or 3 day trip if I do. Right now, I`m planning on going to Chattanooga in a couple of weeks with Jaw Toth.
@@1960gambit I told ya...same brother was in Chattanooga and worked for TVA before moving to Dayton. Dang, what a coincidence. I remember see the Chattanooga Choo Choo at 8yo. Our vacations was always to family members when I was smaller. That's is wild!!

that first one an odd horn!! looks like the place to there is in that field between the tracks!! first articulated i've seen anywhere this year!! you know Scott Sperry Herzog and Lormax must be divisions of the same company i don;t see how they'd have enough work to stay in business being separate companies!
I tried to find a connection between the 2 companies and there isn`t one as far as I can see. LORAM is a huge worldwide company that does business everywhere with their rail maintenance machines.

Glad to see some nice weather in Carlisle. Mid 60s and drippy up here in Rhinelader with rain almost every day for the last 2 weeks but at least we didn't get the drenching Minnessota got. Liked the mixed manifest with the EOT DPU. Great action, liked it a lot. Thanks Scott!
