My issue was that the fan would just cut off. Then it would come back on. Sometimes in a few minutes; other times several hours. The cause was amazingly simple; bad contact in the harness where the wires clip onto the fan motor. Pull it loose and put some dielectric grease in there and put it back together.
Same issue for my 2010 Versa. Totally intermittent fan power. All speeds function (when working). Resisters, motors, and fuses either die or not. So I tend to believe contacts are my issue too.
06 Tiida owner here, I had the exact same issue but it turned out it was a bad connection on the ac resistor.. It is behind the glove compartment (right hand drive car which has the blower motor behind the steering compartment above the pedals), just take out the glove compartment like in the video and look for a green box with wires attached, 2 screws, 1 screw is a pain because there is hardly any room to get it, I unplugged the resistor and scratched up the connections a little, reinstalled and now I'm sitting in nice cool air again.. Easy as! Thanks! This video helped steer me in the right direction.. Kinda wish I did this at the beginning of summer, not the end of it 😂..
I'm working on the 2015 Nissan Versa hear in (Memphis TN) We had a snow storm lasted about a week.I had just got brand new quality tires and a break job from Firestone, A week before the storm hit. I also have about 26 years driving experience. So I spent a bit of time helping drivers get unstuck and showing some snow removal tricks to the trade. I noted just before the storm the rear defroster seamed to quit working! I just watched a video on that subject, still this one was very interesting also. Thank You!
Great video very helpful. Saved me a lot of time, money and frustration. Please keep in mind that it is very likely that Sheila is more that capable to do this job… specially in those tight spaces.
Very awesome video. I was only looking for the blower fuses online before the car went to the mechanic the next week. From your video, I saw how easy it was to get the blower out, and it was easy! I took it apart and one of the brushes was about shot and its wire had come off of it too. It was a Friday so rather than search around for brushes, I found a new blower at Advanced Auto for $99 and got it the next day and put it in. it took 5 minutes to install. The blower had been replaced by a mechanic 7 years ago in this car, which is my gf's, and I didn't know her then. Maybe the motor would have been warrantied, but not likely the labor. Anyway, it was worth the $100 just to get it going on that Friday as my gf needed a few days later. Wish there was RU-vid 40 years ago when I started working on cars as a teen. Thanks
Thanks for the video! Hoping it helps Sheila, the women you mentioned at the start of your video do the repair herself. I don't know about you, but I think women who know their way around a tool box can be bad ass just like the dudes.
Josh Beckmann Thank you Josh. I was just going to say that. I am the handy"man" around the house fixing plumbing and cars, etc. myself. If I waited til my lazy ass husband got around to it, the products would be discontinued!! Thank you for not being a caveman. And also thought I'd mention you would be twisting the motor COUNTER- clockwise to pull it out of the console.
Thank you, you are money saver. This the only detail video for AC problems for nissa versa, note and tiida, i was following your video guide and turned out i just needed to open the glove box trying give it a good taps on the motor and it starts again.
There are two other issues for the Nissan Blower not working. There are two Thermal Link directly connected to the Battery, check to see if the Fusible Link is burned through. Secondly there is a Relay Switch (located beside your left knee as you sit in the van) There are three Relays remove the bottom one (this is the Blower Relay). To check if it is the relay remove the middle of the three and place the middle Relay to the Blower Relay. If the blower then works the Relay was bad.
For the ones that will have to install the control module by him self and it is dirty like the one on this video and can’t get it out, i have a solution for you. For those who have thing like Démêler shaft drive, use kind of sponge look that usually utilized in metal polishing works perfectly. It doesn’t scratch the plastic at all.
Went through all the way to the taking out the blower swapped out the fuses. Tested it and it worked. Put it all back and now it's working. Either way great video helped alot.
Take a pic next time of the clip -tab at 3:00ish on blower motor & squeezing the clip & turning clockwise. Plus, removing electrical harness clip. Otherwise, took me 45 min. The vents were making a "ddddddd" sound based on motor speed, found a biz card had fallen into the vent. Removed blower, reached in, found paper, removed, reassembled, works quiet again. Thx!
What you do is great if you need it BUT you could go to a lot of unnecessary trouble if you don't check the simple relay (R1) which is also located in the fuse module.
Thanks Alot!!! Just saved me $$$$$$.....in my case, I just needed to tap on the a/c blower with a small hammer, and it started working! Really appreciate your videos!!!👍
Awesome video! A worker charged me $ 450 to fix the fan knob and now $640 to fix the fan which they said mice got into and now resistor is bad. I like the Nissan, but wish it was easier to fix the front things. Thank you so much!!
I followed your excellent video. My problem was not directly addressed. I have a Nissan 2016 Versa Note. No blower rotation, or airconditioned air available at at all, no matter what settings. A/C button light does not come on if pressed...but I can hear the compressor kick in. Defrost button light does not come on when pressed. I've checked the fuses. Could a faulty blower cause these secondary symptoms or is it more likely the climate control module has failed?
Thank's Bro nice video, I'm working on a Pathfinder , but you still saved me a lot of time and $. Your's made sense I just had to find where everything was on my truck. Same Concept different Nissan. Thanks, Jay
thanks man, i just watched your video and you saved me a lot of money, just went to auto parts bought a new blower fan and i am enjoying ice cold ac thanks¡¡¡¡¡
Thank you for your video it was well explained. For my case, my blower motor is not turning in my Nissan bluebird g11 model. Could you please locate where are those blower and relay as you have mentioned in your video as I could not find them in the cabin. If I know where the location is then I can able to carry out your diagnostic technique in the video. Thank you.
The way my friend figured out it was the motor on mine was she banged on the underside of the glove box where the motor is. It finally made it start blowing weakly and we could hear it rattling.
1997 Nissan PU. The blower just stopped. Fuses are all good, but have no idea where any relays are located. Tried online but very little help. Figured I would check here
Got a 2015 Nissan rogue n all of a sudden my ac n heater stopped working but I can put the fan speed on high an as long as I'm driving the ac will trickle out a smig of cool air as the same as the heat. So I'm not even sure where to start. I check some fuses on side of dash but have no clue where the other fuse boxes could be or even if that becuz of it still trickling both but really no fan on either
My issue is the hot / cold selector slipped or something so max hot is only about half way between hot and cold. Im in Canada and its about to git real damn cold! winter is not so far off. kids water table was ice this morning. #YYC
On my girlfriends car sometimes the fan blows sometimes it doesn’t (doesn’t work on 4 either). I checked all the electrical connections looking for a short or something, as well as the fuses. Do you think I should switch out the blower even though it “works”? Or is there somewhere that electrical shorts can happen in this system?
@@haroonkhaki9525 I went to the junkyard and pulled a blower, then installed it in her car. The issue has been fixed ever since then. I guess the blower was bad!
@@haroonkhaki9525 you're welcome. Be prepared to have a rough time unplugging the blower motors. That was the hardest part. I actually had my friend with a smaller hand unplug it. It's a tight space!
Could you help me to confirm if the blower motor is bad? I test it connecting it directly to the battery, it started a few times, however always after the first connection.. the blower motor protected it self and when i tried to start it over again it did not work...
Last year my control module stop working. Before I checked the blower. Was ok and the fuse was good so I bought at a scrap yard and installed my self. Weeks ago the little ball of the speed knob took off. No problem, just aim the speed numbers. Then my resistor blew so only the 4th one was working. Then some time blow stop so I toughen it so it start to go again. Now it is not working. I would have to press a certain way for the fan working. Just bought an other one fron scrap yard and resistor at auto parts. I hope this one will last longer than a year this time. Oh and it so my second blower that I installed. So three blowers for a 2011 shit Nassan. I will say that once, don’t buy the Versa of those years, APA said it was not a good vehicle. And the Versa, if your resistor need to be change, you need to remove the brake pedal. Isn’t cool?
Shaun Nelson it’s fragile. If you need to replace it then, what is the point to go gentille with it. Just break the plastic each side of the coloured wires. But if you plan to keep it well, I don’t know. Try to put on each sides a thin sheet of metal in order to withdraw the the case. Make sure to push the metal rod to maximum so when you will be spreading both side then pull every thing in the same time. The hardest thing is not to break those retainers. If you ever break them, fin few micro screws and then screw on each side so the wire will be squeezed or locked. Good lock.
Jassi Shergill how do you know if the ac and heater work? Now, the resistor is the three first speeds. The 4th is direct, no resistance so the fastest. If the 4th is not working it is most likely your fan that is at fault unless a short in the wires. Knock on the fan with a hammer while on the last speed. Or disconnect the fan an use a multimeter to see if you get juice at the fan connector. If you do then it’s your fan that is at fault.
My air is on constantly but the switch is off. The blower just continues to blow while my car is on and only turns off when I shut the car off. Why is this?
I checked the fuse I checked the blower witch I change myself two summers ago and it is fine and it is not the resistor. I had resistor issus with other car before so I new it was not the case on with my versa and the strange thing is when it is at zero or off the A/C light goes on when I press on it. I knew than that it was the control module the problem. So last week I dismount it but I am stuck with those damn colored wires. It is hard to remove them from the plastic. I still don't get it.
I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze. The ac is cold but the fan keeps going off. On the screen it shows that it’s going up or down but nothing is really happening. It will stay off for maybe an hour or up to more than 24 hours. My radio is also occasionally freezing. Can’t turn it down or up, change channel, turn off or on. Then all of a sudden it will be fine. Are these two issues related and can you help me solve how to fix it. Thanks!
Kind me now i frezzeng cant even try 19° and mine stop working but before i smash cople time near middle and blower star blowing again and then it shut down i smack again it work 4 3 2 all wen i star again now wont star but only ac hear turn on but no air
Mine shuts off once you turn past 2. Doesn't turn on for 3 or 4. Pnly works on 1 and 2. Nissan said it was a blower motor control head...but I cant find that part anywhere? Also qouted 475$ to fix it
