In this video I explain why the A/C blows hot air at idle, at the stop light or when not moving and why it blows cold air when driving. Top5autorepairs Subscribe
Also check that the small condenser fan under the hood is blowing when you start your vehicle. The fan blades could just be stuck. If the fan isn’t blowing, take a screwdriver and tap the blades to see if they just needed to be freed up. Watch your fingers.
I had this issue but it had full coolant. I had a bunch of dead bugs and dirt clogging up the coils on the condenser. I just sprayed it off really well and it was good
And I see on here people questioning about the compressor clutch engaging on any car they also incorporate an AC compressor control valve in a lot of these cars that the compressor is engaged one hundred percent of the time even if your AC is off and that is the purpose of that valve in the compressor the symptoms would be that your gauge readings are almost correct but at idle the air gets a lot warmer that's usually a cooling fan problem or an AC compressor control valve only not the compressor itself
Good Day Sir, every time I expose the car in the Sun for longer period of time, and decide to drive. The aircon cause a strange sound and not releasing the cold. What's the cause of that problem?
i have 2011 f150 ecoboost and mine does this but 30 minutes ago when i turned on the truck it sounded like something was breaking and it was around the radiator/ intercooler area. i dont know what it is so any help would be appreciated.
Hey, I have a g35 with a p0024 and it gets 9 mpg which is terrible milege, I took it to the dealership and they said it could be magnetic retarders or faulty timing chain.(I watched your video on timing chain and I have no bad symptoms and my car idols, starts and accelerates very nicely.)Can you please tell me what the problem could be. I would really apreciate it
Start by checking the timing chain. Issue could be caused by stretched timing chain, worn guides, weak tensioner etc...check connection and broken wires at the camshaft position sensor as well.
Yes but you can actually stand outside your vehicle and listen and watch for the ac compressor to kick on or off and if it doesn't then you know it's bad and in my experience the air is not at all cool when the ac compressor dies. I'm not claiming to be a mechanic and this is my experience only so don't go looking to bite my head off and correct me, all you "know-it-allers"!
My 03 is doing the same thing but estimating its charged based off the ounces in the cans we use after vacuum the system. Also notice my compressor never cycles off. Any ideas or suggestions?
@@Top5AutoRepairs2011 Ford Fiesta. Air conditioner has always been cold. I replaced the cabin air filter and since then the air condition blows cold as it use too but now fluctuates. Sometimes at a stop and even sometimes going down the highway at 60 mph. It can be 5-15 mins apart or longer?..
Low on freon does not remedy every ac problem. My car was blowing warm air at idle. Going down the road it would do great. THE FIX,,,CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY.
Hello, I drive a Honda 2003 accord UK model, I've been going through hell with my car ac, changed compressor thrice and jst before it dies, It gives a sign of hot air at idle and only blows cold when my rpm was above 1000 rpm n gradually up to 2000rpm and now blows hot at all rpm. Am frustrated with spending money on short time fix with in the hands of some moron in a workshop suit claims to be an ac expert. Please, how did u fix yours and what was the failing signs, also what car do u drive. Thanks, hope to hear from you.
@@JMVenturesTV still no good yet. D last time I changed condenser, compressor, freezer, expansion valve but couldn't find d the exact ac line that matches my cars own, so I cleaned my old 1, which was a terrible mistake. After 2 days the ac stopped blowing cold and I stopped using d ac, checked the refrigerant level n noticed silver colored fragments in refrigerant.
You know I see different vehicles with different AC symptoms and I see a lot of questions on here with people trying to fix their own air conditioning if you guys are not mechanically inclined and you do not know how an AC system work you could be actually causing more problems for yourself
It's impossible to see exactly what a AC system is doing when you don't use a regular set of AC gauges for the low side and also the high side. I guess these little blue low side hoses and refrigerant cans sell good. I've used the cans myself but I use a regular set of gauges.
I did this. Filled in the green just as instructed. My car still blows hot when stopped but cool when driving. I can hear the compressor turning on and off quite a bit while stopped. Is it possible that air somehow got in the line and that is messing up the pressure?
@@africanlifeempire8108 No. Pressures are all over the place. I was told by the mechanic that the compression is going bad. This is why it can be puzzling when you watch RU-vid auto repair videos because the condition of each particular a/c system is different. I had so many RU-vid "armchair" mechanics say, "It's this" or "It's that" when it was actually the other thing.
My nissan versa blows hot air on idle its literally as if I had the heater on no joke or exaggerating if i switch the settings from ac to heater temperature doesnt even change since its that hot any idea why? When i drive it feels normal but on idle it feels like hell
Would you recommend taking a vehicle to a shop for full on AC service? No idea when my 98 civic was last serviced. Didn't know that iconic Honda tick was in J series as well lmao
mine does this as well but then it also overheats at idle and then temperature goes back to normal when driving. What could that be? I have no codes or a check engine light on.
Means you need to bleed the pressure off. Hold the pin inside the thing down, it'll bubble green stuff. Hold it down until the pressure is in the range you need it to be and it should start cooling. Your ac system is OVER charged.
OEM stuff fails. I had some wheel bearings go on me way too soon. A professional mechanic friend told me that I was paranoid. Well he had a big glass of STFU when it was in fact the wheel bearings. A nurse once laughed at me when I thought I had colon cancer. It turned out to be Stage IIIB colon cancer and I almost died.
