christopher zhang Did that mic actually break because of Avi singing so low? I know they were all joking around and saying that, but I didn't know if it was what actually happened.
Ya, I've probobly been missing a whole lot from it. I stopped watching after I saw a rapapella (lazy genre) getting so far in the competition last season.
***** RU-vid's flash player supports 5.1 channel output, and I think they now support quadraphonic output with the html5 player. And even if not, you can always apply an active virtual surround effect for use with stereo headphones. Surround headsets may be overpriced more often than not, but a good quality 5.1+ channel headset is very useful for producing music that contains very low frequencies and for more immersive gaming experiences. Also they're comfortable as fuck.
Gabriel Franco Mitch doesn't have 5 octaves. If you're counting his "whistle" notes, you shouldn't. They aren't true whistles (he's said that he just inhales and squeaks) and you generally wouldn't count whistles as part of the range because some people can hit high whistle notes but can't sing some that are lower and it's super disconnected. You have to actually be able to sing the note and it be usable for it to be part of your range.
Avis range in this video is a C2 -D4 in pure chest. Then Eb 4 all the way to a E5 in head voice/ falsetto. So in total his range is an eargasmic 3 octaves and 2 notes.
Haha, sound like teacher error then! Alto is a fine fit, but depending on your voice..You may constitute a female tenor. I'd love to hear your voice sometime so I can get a feel for myself; I met a female bass at a few honors choirs I went to.
Yes, but I'd say that the compilation of many voices that each compliment every other voice in the A Capella band/group is a lot more complicated than playing a big instrument.
Oh my gosh he would. His cover with Home Free is amazing. I'd like to see him do something by Josh Turner or Scotty McCreery since they have voices more suited to his
ItsRobinWhoTalks LOL you know, after a while I started recognizing people's pictures in the comments that I recognized on other videos of PTX and that's when I started getting self conscious, because I comment ALOT. lol
I'm super excited to see videos about/from the camp. I may not be able to make music, but I'm extremely passionate about it. Good luck to those planning to audition!!!
Jack Ripper it's G#1. but yeh you're right none of the growl/fry counts. google search avi kaplan lowest chest note, in a video he says he can sing a low a, when he demonstrates it, he sings a G#1, slides up to A1
This video shows all the skills that you have : low notes of course, but also high notes, beatboxing... you're very talented Avi ! RU-vid made me discover you with PTX and that was an unforgettable revelation !
well, now at least we know he wasn't sent from the future to save a cappella... he was sent to Earth by dropdead gorgeous aliens who want to slay us using music
So I've seen Avi beatbox, Kirstie beatbox, Mitch beatbox,, Scott beatbox, Matt beatbox and then Kevin's wife beatbox. I swear they're gonna team up and come for Kevin at some point.
You know, I really don't like country music. But, if you're singing it, I think I could probably grow very fond of it. Your range is fucking insane by the way.
So if we're auditioning, does that mean we have to sing, like do all the steps, because what i do is beatboxing, does that mean i only do a beatbox, or do i have to do like portion of a song, etc?
Kevin is the percussion for pentatonix, but in their song "Run to you" he sings throughout the entire song. just because you may think you are only good at beat boxing, doesn't mean you are not a good singer as well.
SolDiTV Depends. You're probably only concerned with whether you're a tenor, baritone, or bass (unless you have a high countertenor voice like Mitch). In a traditional setting: A bass should be able to go from E2 (one ledger line below the staff) or lower to D4 (just above middle C) A tenor should go from C3 (octave below middle C) to G4 and higher A baritone should be somewhere in between, perhaps G2 to G4 (my range without falsetto)
