I think the grad cap extra actually saved the cake from being crushed further. Sure, it mushed thru all the layers of the cake, but at least that was the worst of it, my cats would have flattened the cake itself!
The best way to use the microwave trick is to only melt a little bit of the colored icing, frosting or buttercream (which ever one you are using) then mix it in to the rest of the colored batch until you get the colour you are looking for
Your neighbors are really lucky to know someone who can fix a cake in a matter of hours. Most people would probably freak out and try a grocery store cake xD ‘-‘
A cat always sits on a cake. They like those boxes and I learned that on my sisters birthday. Nobody would repair the cake so I ended up fixing her cake and mixing colors and piping roses. They weren’t the best but at least her cake looked presentable. Cats make you do work and I never left a cake out after that.😭
@@lexdraws1729 I knew that already but I left it unattended for 3 minutes. We were trying to decorate the house and all before she came. I also didn’t mind redoing the frosting it’s just that it looked very nice beforehand. I have not ever decorated with frosting so I wanted to pay a professional to do it but I don’t think they are allowed (i understand that) so we just ended up buying frosting from the bakery. I know it’s our fault for leaving it and I don’t blame the cats. It’s just that it took my mom an hour to get it home and well it happened. I mean that’s the price we pay for having pets and it’s okay, I personally had fun while frosting it and learned about how capable I am of frosting cakes. (But the pressure of making it look nice was still there) Although, I could use some classes and a certificate to really learn properly.
At first I thought they meant the cat sat on the actual cake and I was like, "how are they supposed to fix that? There is probably cat hair on it now and that is not sanitary!" 😂
the fact that i only clicked on this video because i couldn't believe you would still feed this cake to people after a cat sat on it, then i watched the first 10 seconds and was like: "ooooh."
Was up late and couldn't sleep. I happened to come across this video. I really enjoyed this video. I enjoyed the skills demonstrated in conjunction with the humor!
I have two cats and they have not sat on cakes, thankfully! We put the cake, or cakes in the fridge when we have cake. It is safe, and it keeps the cake cool. Madison graduated a year after me! I am in the high school class of 2020 (Covid-19 Class). I actually liked virtual learning more than regular high school. It's a rare opinion, but that is my story. Plus, I was not going to Prom, anyways, nor any of those end-of-year stuff that seniors in high school do. I love to be alone! Anyways, my cats are named Oliver and Nigel. Oliver is a tuxedo cat. Nigel is orange. Oliver is named after Oliver Wood in Harry Potter. He was the Gryffindor Quidditch Team Captain and Keeper. Nigel is named after a character named Nigel, who was only in the movies. The Nigel character took over the Colin Creevey character after Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (movie). I named Oliver and my sister named Nigel. Oliver is my cat and Nigel is my dad's cat (I think it is funny and cute that cats choose their favorite human). Oliver is my favorite, too!
I'm new to this channel so at first I found it interesting that people would go to such lengths just to fix a messed up cake, big props though, very satisfying.
I had a cat that hated baths and hated the vet. Anytime we would do either I'd find cat piss on my pillow that night. I never knew an animal could be so petty.
@@nowknow a passive aggressive Cat! 😂, I can believe it. My husband is terribly allergic to cats, but my step mom has one, and she did a great job keeping an air purifier going, and we did our best to keep the bedroom door closed while we were visiting so she wouldn’t get on the bed. My dad was terminally ill at the time, and I had been there helping take care of him for a couple of months while my husband was back home working and caring for our 4 dogs. He actually came up for thanksgiving and it was wonderful seeing him, HOWEVER Sabrina the cat was less than thrilled about him being there hogging all my attention away from her lol. The last full day he was there, I washed all his clothes so when he got home he wouldn’t have to do it. She decided to lay in his suit case, and apparently on top of the clothes before I zipped it shut. It wasn’t till he got home, and lazily would just take from the open suit case every day a new outfit, he couldn’t figure out why he was so sick, it finally clicked. She wanted him dead! 😂😂😂
1:55 and that is the reason why we need more left-handers scissors. You hold/push differently and when its the wrong side you open the blades, so they no longer touch each other and therefore makes it impossible to cut. Leftie-scissors are kind of switched how the blades are attached. (So yes, they do exist, are just much harder to find, especially for good ones)
@@depressedrat7804 My sister is also left handed, we search to find her own scissors but they are very difficult to find, also the ones that we bought are very bad, and also idk why the kindergarten teachers want to force the children to use the right hand, it's so stressful for them
@Peter Ibanez You’re 100% right. With so much that goes on in the world as well as life, it’s hard to take a few steps back and to see the joy in everything.
1:10 the fact that he said "lets try it" during a cake emergency gave me anxiety, but the very fact he was so calm about it at the same time feels calming at the same time😅😅
Me seeing the channel name: wait that seems familiar. Why is he so good at this? Me seing the. Channel vids: Oh wait its Thee dylan :O It all made sense now Itss been long i havent been in this channel
at first i was like "why the heck would a cat SIT ON A CAKE?" and then i saw the frosting in the top and then i realized the cat didn't sit on the cake the cat sat on the top of the cake box lmao
Cats sit wherever they want without any fucks. I once had a cat that sat on a lit candle. Didn't care one bit about the flame it's butt just put out or the melted wax everywhere. At least, he didn't care until I tried cleaning it off.
Great job! Congratulations Madison! 🎓 I would’ve taken all the frosting off the top and removed any green frosting on the side. Then with all the green removed, you wouldn’t have to match the old color.
Just a tip. You may even know this already. Fresh icing , that hasn't set out in the air is going to be slightly (depending on the color ) lighter than the icing that is already on the cake. Once the icing starts to set up it gets darker. Also if you want a smoother surface ( the white part ) get a piece of parchment paper , cut to size , and stick it to the top. Then with your hands smooth it out on the cake with slight pressure making sure you get any air bubbles out or wrinkles. Don't push the icing. Then pop it in the freezer for 20 to 30 min . As soon as you pull the cake out , carefully pull the paper off and you will have a smooth cake. You can also make polka dots that way. Use a round tip to make a bead , place paper , carefully and slowly smooth down. Freeze.
Lmao. Pets are literally some of the culprits. My cousin's dogs actually tore my books to shreds and I had to be without a book for the rest of the semester.
It is such a great opportunity and honours for you that your neighbours thought you were that capable of doing it. Amazing! We will keep on supporting you...All the best ;)
I remember back in junior high, I stayed up til about 2 am doing homework that involves coloring maps. When I woke up, the paper was torned to tiny bits and pieces and the culprit was my cat. I remember being so nervous and panicked because the deadline is that day. Cats are savages with zero remorse 🤦♀️
@I like razorblades tf..? They didn't mean it literally they were just complaining about a bad experience. Also why are you so obsessed with America? No one brought it up, so it's strange that you mentioned it and just assumed they were from there. Respectfully, stop bitching.
I like razorblades okay sir razorblades maybe they just…. MADE A JOKE plus dumbass they prolly not even America (and considering the fact that they are wearing school uniforms and look to be Indonesian) nobody says junior high in america so next time shut ur im emo ass up and mind ya goddamn business
Omg my friend has lost her cat and she was like the most fluffy not savage cat like I need and award for finding a NON savage cat “ amd the award for who found the first NON savage cat in the world goes to........................... DIVNOOR KAUR
Can we just appreciate that he only had a little time to make this and did it AMAZING and not only that but he recorded it all to!? Amazing! Great job Dylan! 👩🏽🎓👩🏽🎓👩🏽🎓👩🏽🎓👩🏽🎓👩🏽🎓👩🏽🎓👩🏽🎓👩🏽🎓👩🏽🎓👩🏽🎓👩🏽🎓👩🏽🎓
Thankfully I have a local cake shop right down from the street so instead of letting the professionals fix it they got me some frosting and wished me good luck and try not to ruin our neighbors graduation. No pressure.
The scissors probably don't work for you because they're for righties and you're a leftie. As to the cat, it is IMPOSSIBLE for any feline to resist sitting on anything resembling a box and/or made of cardboard. The cake save was an excellent job!
@@roowut I know, I am just saying that the scissors are going to cut or aren't going to cut, regardless of whether you are right-handed or left-handed.
Just a tip for everyone to not give cow milk to kittens. It messes up their stomach to wear they can't pee or poop and they die. And for adult cats, it might cause them diarrhoea
86aidan are you joking ? I can’t really tell. They are saying that they fed the kitten that wouldn’t eat and then the kitten poop / peed on the floor and wall in reply ( I am using my dad’s account )
I was so confused, I was like “what cat bum is that big to take off all that frosting” but I guess it sat on it while the lid was on… no wonder you wasn’t concerned about it’s fur.
i wonder how common of an occurrence it is for a cat (or any pet for that matter) to mess up a cake lol, anyways it looks good as always and congratulations to madison!! 🎓✨
I call BS on the whole thing. You shouldn't leave cake that is frosted like that at room temp when not eating it (the frosting, and consequently the layers stacked with it) very unstable if left at room temp for long periods of time), and I doubt the cat sat on it in the fridge. The messed up portion is also very convenient for a quick fix. Great cake skills, sure, but shakey story.
@@IDontWantThisStupidHandle I bet someone set something on top of it in the fridge, thinking the box would support the weight of the object and not realizing it would flatten down and ruin the cake. But the cat is a much better story especially for the internet! I'll give it to him.
