My wife and I watched this last night, such an enjoyable interview/chat between you both, could have listened for hours...... The world needs more people like Sam. A smile and a handshake goes a long way...stay safe both of you
Sam is such an incredible unselfish and positive person, it is wonderful to listen to him, his stories and thoughts. Thank you Sam and Nathan for sharing :-)
Love the talk on GPS not dictating the journey. Also, Sam's audiobooks are great on the boring morning commute in my car, I forget I am in traffic and feel like I am back on my bike exploring the world. Perfect during these times when distance travel is so difficult.
Reading the Long way home for the second time this year and listening to Under Asian skies when I exercise - both keeping me sane this lockdown ..... absolute serendipity to come across this video ! Much enjoyed - thank you
Nathan. I read your book about your adventure on Dorothy when at the age of 46 I bought a cb125f to learn on. I loved the book and it inspired me to go and ride the NC500. I then wanted my next bike. At 48, after searching utube and looking at all sorts of bikes, I bought a Himalayan. It's a perfect bike for me. Sam. Now I have seen this I will be looking for your book too. And I'll be giving a review too. Thanks both of you for taking the time to inspire. It's important. Keep doing what you do. Mark. (Oban)
A really interesting video. Sam is such an interesting man and so calm and relaxed about life. It makes you want to have an adventure even if it's only small! Thanks again Nathan for your video the series you are doing is excellent. They are a "confidence" builder... And would love to ride with you on one of your runs one day. Bye Stuart 🙂
About time that you missed a couple of days of uploads Nathan. Can't be easy doing them every day. Everyone needs a break. Thank you, and for for the latest one, will put it on the big screen.
Just watched this and although it was over an hour long It was extremely interesting Read all of Sams books and couldn’t put them down Another great video
Another good one, Nathan. On the subject of books. I've read both of yours, and can, honestly, say that they are, extremely, good. Possibly, better than Ted Simon's. I've, also, got your childrens book, and am saving it for when my grandsons are a little bit older, so that they can appreciate it more. Sam Manicom's books are on my 'to read' list.
Could have listened do you both talking for much longer, really enjoyed listening to you Sam be nice to catch up again one day and I’ll definitely be over to Dorothy speed shop in the near future.
Two really nice blokes chatting - compelling viewing in my opinion. Actually felt a little bit like being down the pub... Really interesting information and advice about publishing, thanks
Oh! Magic!! What a brilliant interview (if interview is the right word). “Two enthusiastic blokes chatting” was your better description.. loved it, thank you, both of you. Les
Great chat between two interesting and knowledgeable guys, thanks both. And thanks Nathan - lockdown diaries have become essential (and inspiring) daily viewing and it must take a lot of effort to keep them going. Hope to do a best of four (or five,Honda) as soon as we’re allowed. Unless I’ve succumbed and bought a Himalayan online beforehand 😀. Cheers, Colin.
Great chat with Sam, I’ve read and enjoyed a couple of his books. Really pleased you mentioned Slovenia been through that lovely country three times now and completely agree with what you say about it. I’d like to come down and have a day on the A2 bikes whenever it’s possible. Not long now hopefully 🤞
Thank you! Really nice to hear from those experienced travellers, so many tips to learn from and possible situations to prepare for. It really resonated with me the mental aspect is the part that is most challenging for me. Thanks Nathan, it's really helping me to work myself through them. 😊🙏
An interesting and enjoyable watch Nathan! And as for books, I've just completed reading your The Long Ride Home I got from you on Monday, an excellent read. For those who havent read it yet, get yourself a copy! dorothys speed shop 👍
Really enjoyed the video. Well done with this whole series, it's been great; something to keep the adventure fires burning. Have you got any more interviews in the pipeline?
Brilliant interview. I've question for you Nathan: In the hypothetical scenario of Royal Enfield giving call, out of the blue, asking what should they do to make the Himalayan near perfect! What would your answer be?
Well, I did kinda have that opportunity with an invitation to the technology centre in 2019. I was asked that very question and I guess it's a simple case of a bit lighter, a bit slimmer and a bit more power. BUT, none of it at the expense of what it offers in terms of value and simplicity. I'm sure they could make an incredible machine but if it's £8000 then it's no use. I'd take £5000 and be 20% better than it is now.
@@nathanthepostman That's awesome 🙌🏼 My wishful thinking of 20hp more and 20kg less but I'd take 20lb shaved off if the Kgs are too much of a task. Extra $1500-$2000 above the current $5000 price tag would be a reasonable hike imo. Thanks again man. You're awesome!
@@Ziadalabbady Cheers Ziad. Yeah I reckon more like an extra 10bhp and a 10 kilos drop in weight but I think even that would enhance it no end! Let's wait and see what they come up with. We're getting bored of new colours every year!
