Great adventure Nathan. That pool looked like the attraction of the area. I would swap you the cool for our heat. You planned correctly with your destination calendar. Ride Safe!
Thanks for all the great videos man, would it be possible to get a video on all the different bikes in your group? Nothing too in depth, even stills would do
If it gets a bit more front suspension then it's absolutely perfect. Great engine. Proving comfortable and it's a nice bike to ride. Just a bit rough going at the minute but rally raid front fork internals to come
I never got up there the weather was too bad and I was running out of time, glad the weather is with you and enjoying the Westfjords through your videos.
Read a horrendous/good book not long ago about the hanging of the last witch in that area, fascinating reading about how people survived back in the 1800's! Anyway, moving on, enjoy!
Got burned on a CFmoto atv. Engine crank bearing failed in two weeks time (7hrs of operation time), dealership weaseled out of the warranty work. Parts were on back order for 19weeks. Paid in full. Finally got it back, took the dealership to court, got our money back plus some. I will never trust CFmoto or any dealership who carries their products. Hopefully for those who are getting this machine will have a better experience.
Great video and what a barren land but so beautiful, really loving these videos. Iceland should definitely be on every bikers bucket list, it's something else.
There was no testing, test.. Nice one however.. Ground level, that close the Sea..! One most impressive form, once in a Life time trip to see, the likes elsewhere never again, looking at it my thoughts were.. then realized, Water Buffalo of the Indian sort.. especially when painted. Have safe, enjoyable Trip ya'll.
Darn Nathan you’ve all lucked out with the weather hammering it down here. Looks absolutely amazing. I really agree with the light bikes we just let the Tenere to get dad an NX500 perfect bike for him and me to share at the mo with not green laning with his prostate cancer he can ride that an ill dive on my Norton n when we are finished moving down Honiton way later in the year I’m gonna get a crf300 Rally again back to light bikes :)
Greetings from India! I'm 59, I have considered the H450 and dismissed it for precisely the reasons you've mentioned. RE is known for it's torquey engines with great bottom end grunt, if I want the rush of top end power, I'll get a KTM390ADV with 20kg lesser weight. Waiting for the Classic 650, and if they rustle up another 240kg behemoth like the SM650 or the Shotgun, I'll get the good ol' Classic 350 or maybe the Interceptor. Cheers!
bike looks gorgeous and should perform significantly better with suspension upgrades. I think for the total outlay, there are more accomplished bikes out there capable of doing road miles in comfort and off-road miles without falling apart, but that's not really what this Scrambler is about. Few people are going to drop the best part of £8K on a bike like this and rag it off road, but the same can be said for most of the 'adventure bikes' out there. Looking forward to seeing how you get on in Iceland....and good to see RR taking on another challenge
I don't think the NX500 is in the same class, ability wise. I'm in love with the 450MT, but not available in Thailand. The only bike that can compete with this exists only in the minds of us Kawasaki fans who endlessly wait for Kawasaki to upgrade the versys300X to 450X using the new stroked version of the 399cc engine from the Z400/Ninja400 This 450MT really can do it all and they are easily customizable with wraps.
Thanks Nathan, good to hear that the bikes are holding up well on the trip. How’s the fuel economy looking on the scrambler 400 and the tank range? The bike looks great with the Rally Raid kit. Take care, looking forward to more content from this trip.
The weather looks to be better than here in cold wet soggy Northampton. Enjoy Iceland and thanks for the glimpses you are providing for us in these daily vids.
That rock formation wouldn’t look out of place down on the Jurassic coast. I suppose Iceland is one of those unique places unlike anywhere else. The landscape and the volcanic rock and gravel. I remember seeing Tom Cruise in Oblivion racing across the black sand on that futuristic bike which underneath was a Honda XR.
@nathanthepostman Interesting fact about Iceland. When building roads the authorities still consult with elemental beings who live on the proposed route.
I went to that herring factory - a decade ago and the harbour inside an old warehouse. Absolutely the most freaked I've ever been anywhere in my travels 😱 (and that includes the market in Peru where the Qu'ero Indians get their spiders and snakes to perform their magic spells) but I'm sure that you'll all have a great time! 🏍️🏍️
Thank's for sharing this video Nathan ! Always a pleasure to follow your journeys and happenings, interresting reviews of what happens on the go, and of course nice nature on Island. Take care and drive safely ! 🙂
Thanks Nathan for posting this. My son went to Iceland a couple of years ago and sent me a vidoe of him and his girlfriend on the beach. The wind was ferocious. He could barely stand. I am glad it is better for your trip.
Looks like a great place for off tarmac riding. Must have put in a lot of effort and research to get things running so smoothly Nathan. Fortunate guys to be on the trip so well organized and overseen.👌👍👍
Yes, maybe the Unicorn has arrived. Wish I was twenty years younger and I'd buy one. Stick to my auto Kymco AK550 tourer for now. Sadly my dirt days are over.
Next year likely getting the 400x. I had a CRF250L, then an Africa Twin…sold both. Not doing that type of riding any longer and the 400x seems perfect. If I want more, like you I’ll upgrade to the rally raid…
