I've been a fan of NASCAR since 1991, and I was at the track for the Brickyard yesterday. I had a VIP pass and I had an amazing time. The access and the things I was able to get close to and see was amazing. There is nothing like hearing a field of ~40 cup cars roaring down the frontstretch from the stands or from pit road. I even got a selfie with Mike Helton! That was awesome. I love IMS, as I've been there plenty of times, just never for the NASCAR Cup Series. If the race was boring on TV, I wouldn't be able to confirm that from the stands. It was CRAAAAZY.
It doesn't matter when Larson is on the inside. Larson won the race after Brad pulled off into the pits. We could of had 100 cautions and it still wouldn't have mattered.
@@mattharrell3932 saving fuel, Blaney had no reason to pass Brad. He was banking on Brad running out during the green flag run and then he would have been first.
TJ said it, he looked at the data.they both rolled but th 12 was in 2nd gear, the 5 was in 1st gear. Obviously the 5 will get a faster jump in a lower gear. Dont hate him because he played the game better than the rest

So does the “replay” your all looking at the delta in rate acceleration through the box and failing to incorporate initial rolling speed. Your looking with a simple mind at the 5 beating him through the box which isn’t “firing” first. You can fire first and get slaughtered through the zone. I spend days a week evaluating restarts for my job and instantly recognized there was no jump. Watch the replay agin in slow motion and watch the INITIAL Throttle of both cars. (Aka firing). Kyle had higher rolling speed according to facts and data which allows him to nose ahead when they fire at the same time. Can’t argue with facts and hard data with your lying eyes. Regardless the 5 could have allowed the 12 to fire a second earlier and he still wasn’t going to win that fight from the outside against that car and that driver on that track. Not in this world.
This is a perfect example of all the dumbasses that hate Denny. Hate him and call him dumb when they are the ones that are wrong almost 100% of the time
Well they didn’t penalize Denny earlier in the year and he jumped the start wayyyy worse than Kyle did. So NASCAR is just being consistent like you all want.
It didn't really look like he jumped the start. If hamlin leaving a whole car length early before the restart zone isn't a penalty then hitting the gas .1 seconds before blaney isn't one

Nobody else made this race EXCITING besides LARSON. Passing gas savers or not he past Hamlin who was not saving so..... And i NEVER have heard a crowd CHANT a driver's name. LARSON LARSON LARSON!! Are we still sure Bill's kid is the most popular driver? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
People go to Indianapolis who don't go to any other NASCAR race because they are Indycar fans and Indy is it's home track, like how Charlotte is for NASCAR. Guarantee there were lots of Indycar fans cheering for Larson because he was the NASCAR driver that did the double so he was their guy. Any other track Larson isn't getting that kind of chant
Indy sounds a lot like Lambeau Field. Lambeau is right up against a residential neighborhood...parking in the lawns of the neighbors, friendly crowd, awe inspiring venue with unparalleled history. If only the racing was as good as the Packers usually are at home....

Larson fired off first, but when they hit the end of the restart zone, they were basically neck and neck coming up to speed. NASCAR should have reset the field or Blaney should’ve been more consciously aware of his surroundings and what was going on so I think he’s more pissed that he lost another race to Kyle Larson more so than anything being given to the #5
Car scrapes outside wall, keeps going - NASCAR "that's a yellow" Car spins and noses inside wall, blows tires and can't move - NASCAR, "wait let's see what happens".
The data shows that Larson and blaney fired off at the exact same time just fyi. The difference was that Larson was rolling up 1mph faster than blaney as he was closing the gap. So no, he didn’t jump the start and should not have been penalized
Why are we making a story out of the last lap caution when there really wasn't a story. I don't hear anybody mentioning the fact that they gave him as long as possible to get rolling again
They did not throw the caution because of where the cutoff line points were if they would have threw the caution that cut off line would not have been nowhere near as close cuz Bubba would have had to get gas and Ross would have been in the top 10

The racing surface is clearly defined by the continuous white line the rings the inside of the paved tack surface. the warm-up lane is defined by the pair of parallel white lines that extande from pit out to the blend point at turn two. the space inbetween the outer warm-up lane line and the inner track surface line used to be grass but is paved strictly as for safety reasons. The rule should be refined to state cars must remain fully within the defined warm-up lane, period.
IRP is a awesome place. The craftsman trucks and old Bush cars always put great races on at IRP. nascar needs to go back and run the track they ran in the mid to late 90's.!

Early this year denny jumped the start to win a race and it wasn't close,he had the other car clear just past the flag stand and these guys all defended him with every excuse imaginable..Larsons was extremely close.maybe a pumper and they both looked confused. It was so close im fact Ryan had the lead back by a bumper goimg into turn 1
Larson didn’t jump the start. Blaney knew he was done when Larson filled the gap on the inside lane as the rules dictate. Circumstances unfolded in Larson’s favour, and the fastest car won.
During a GWC restart Nascar should use the flagman to do the restart. the leader gets option to pick the lane he wants to go and thats an advantages and if he gets to start the race he gets too much an advantage.
Nascar needs to be consistent on cautions and penalties. It's like they flip a coin to decide, or who it affects. They have screwed more drivers than I can count. Been a Nascar fan for years and it's getting frustrating.
I think Blaney basically said in an interview with Frontstretch, what yall said here. He got screwed over by racing luck. The pieces just fell all the wrong ways. Hes not mad at anyone in particular. Also, Blaney gets angry on the radio... But after he gets out of the car he relaxes... Which i think is pretty fun. Let him be fired up in the car. I wouldnt take everything he says over the radio as a perfectly thought out well crafted statement lol.

Love how Larson fans like to defend him outright refusing to learn how to save tires or fuel. It's a skillset and he's lightning fast but he needs to mature and build a bigger skillset. His speed ain't gonna last forever
As Denny pointed out with SMT (and others), Larson didn’t jump he just timed it absolutely perfectly. Adding in he was in 1st gear, with a better car and tires as it was, it was no contest. It probably wouldn’t have mattered if Blaney easily went first or even if Larson was on the outside.
Also it doesn't sound like anybody watched the replay of the restart when Brad ran out of fuel. Larson black back a little behind Blaney and they both admitted they both left at the same time and it's very obvious when you watch the replay

In the old days run 100 % the entire race. This fuel milege b.s. just flat out sucks for the sport. Back in the day fuel mileage races were rare. Now thats all it is and they aint running wide open
With 20 to go I had to stop scanning on my radio at the race. It was all TJ anyway. By 5, by five , save me a little. Second spotter, "By four.TJ, " By 5, by 5. Back It up a little more." Twenty fn laps. And it still didn't work. Nobody uses push to talk more than TJ.
There are only 5 road courses Brett, COTA, Sonoma, Chicago, Watkins Glen and the Charlotte Roval, NASCAR has always raced on road courses since the beginning, its when the drivers are challenged the most, only the best drivers win on these types of tracks, skill matters much more, isnt that a good thing
Do people really think Herbst is Cup ready? Or do the people who sign the checks to put Cup cars on the track think his sponsorship is Cup worthy? The rules that were shown about the pit exit made perfect logical sense but could have been made way clearer and yeah if NASCAR missed calls then they fucked up. The 9 and 2 were over the line on the racing surface which is obviously defined, and I dont know that TV showed any other cars who actually crossed the 2nd line. The 5 had his right sides on it which is borderline but I understand not calling that.
Umm the 6 was over the line, the 5 was on the line. Big difference. The 5 even said the 9 had to get a penalty for that. He knew the rule, why didnt everyone else? Thats why the 5 team is one of the very best out there, they come prepared, for everything
