Well I am so pleased to see someone really is working to at least "hold onto" Swannanoa.Having worked as a tour guide at Maymont, I have been at Swannanoa several times.Seen Lao Russel sweep down the staircase to greet us, to speak of her philosophies.Fascinating.Of course, no tours upstairs, but I remember several years later seeing the upstairs and I remember the blue Wedgewood style plaques in the door tops of Mrs.Dooley's bedroom and her bath.It has been 35+ years since I have seen this , but parts are well imprinted on my mind.I hope it lasts forever, but I surely know what it costs to simply maintain it.And I love the swan bed.My favorite place in the home?The Tiffany Window and stair case.What a sight.
