I thought Trent Reznor was his uncle!!!? Hahaha jk. Old joke, although my cousin, who didn’t know Jake at the time, and seeing a vid where he is jamming , thought maybe Trent was his uncle. I kept telling my cousin, his uncle is another musician,guess! . 😂

I remember in the early 2000s when metalcore was coming into fruition and how that started to progress into heavier, more breakdown oriented riffs leading into deathcore becoming the bleeding edge of metal, than djent came into the scene becoming the popular form of metal. Metal is always evolving and I feel like the next wave will birth itself in the next year or two.

I was fortunate enough to meet all of the Periphery guys at a VIP event before a show, and while Mark and Misha are super cool dudes that I look up to and respect, Jake is someone who I feel like I could actually be friends with.

Fantastic first half... Jake/Periphery: have made a super positive impact on my musical endeavors... Big Respect and Fluff? I can barely begin to tell you how much Wow the Roots Amp plug-in has provided. You rock! ..... Venue power inconsistencies! Isn't that illegal? Yes, City Building Codes... but who files a claim... 2021 the reboot of quality work? One can surely hope. Grill material parameters. 'cause that's a great use of CPU, heh heh New music from Jake?! Yassss Looking Fwd to it!! Ibanez delivers period. Ok. So. Jake, Is the satin blue enigma model finally going to be on the market?! I've been sad about it, heh heh. Imposter syndrome. I get it. I have military PTSD. What if I crater during a performance. I believe we can shrink that compartment... realizing we are all unique. We all have something special and amazing to add.

Great interview, Fluff. Jake reminds me of my musician friends. Just a super kind, down-to-earth dude. I want to tell him that even if he isn't as technically gifted as some of the musicians he hangs with, what he brings to the table in metal music is just as relevant. Being a good songwriter is so much more powerful than just being technically gifted.

I still use my axe fx ultra after all these years, I have tried almost every plugin in the market and besides TH-U nothing beats it to this day imho, Can't wait to upgrade to a 3 or II-XL+

I met John at a guitar / pedals event a few years ago and rather than complimenting him about his music achievements and whatnot, I told him I was really jealous of his majestic black beard because mine was already turning gray. He confessed he stains it :D
