I was in Cardiff Bay last Friday enroute Porthcawl@X2 as i sold my car+have been told to replace my car tout-suite! I like the old ambiance of this hotel+it seems spacious+as you said with free parking very reasonable.I support conservation of listed+older buildings+i have done so since 1980s.When Mel mentioned the kettle i remembered my common star Canadian legal 1985 star husband Sebastian Bach@Skid Row who boiled hotdogs in a Beverly Hills hotel kettle.I was so shocked but he did come from a hillbilly family. Hi Mel, just watched, we were down in September and settled on Premier at Newport . It was on our way home , family now live on east of City. About average price now for double room , parking free is a bonus . We’re off to warners northwales in march 3 nights for price of 2 , dbb all entertainment , 5 mins from betsy coed £437.20 ( i think included a cancellation extra of £20 pp . Then 3 cruises booked later in year Hope you didn’t catch a cold in the Bay !
Great video. I stayed in that hotel and thought exactly the same about the room. I imagined that because the hotel is called Future Inn that it’d be modern and really up to date. The fact that the furniture and decor were so dated didn’t marry with the name.
Down by the water front is a nice play to visiy - £9 for a glass of Vino! That's naughty Marcus as Mel was paying and had a glass of water - shame on you :)
Great video, thank you! I'm sorry, but I don't think £71 per night (without breakfast) can be called "cheap" (cheaper than other places, maybe, but not cheap)... but having parking included is a bonus I suppose. £9.20 for a glass of wine certainly isn't cheap!! Favourite biscuits - Fig Rolls, Ginger Nuts and Lemon Puffs (and Garibaldi).
Just curious as to what was next to the steak and watercress in the corner? A tomato? If so, I've seen up to two tomato slices served, but never a whole tomato. In any case, how was it?
It was a tomato. Mel enjoyed it, not the best steak but for a chain restaurant, it was very good. Our waiter was very good, (which can be unusual in a UK chain).
