I am a baker for over 40 years I made oatmeal cookies all my life, I tried your recipe and I can tell you I will be making your because it’s delicious and you did a good job explaining the recipe, the only thing I change I double the molasses and the cinnamon.
She got me at Not liking raisins- me too! I’m subscribed Such concise video! The ingredients written down for us! Both types of measurements written in the description!
You do not have the followers or views you deserve. Your recipes have never disappointed me. Some of my favorite recipes have come from your channel. These cookies are delicious!! 😋. Big thanks from me and my family!
I made these and took suggestion of doubling the molasses and cinnamon from a previous commenter and also only had quick oats.,, well, these came out so delicious and I don’t even like raisin oatmeal cookies, made these for a neighbor, but happy to say I will be making these in the future again., thank you for sharing this recipe😊
This is a great recipe! I love the addition of molasses to the mixture. It really adds another dimension to this cookie. The cornstarch also helped hold the shape of these cookies. I was initially skeptical about the cornstarch, but it works. I made these today and posted about them on my IG account as well. We love these cookies. They are hard to stop eating!
Thank you so much for the video 👍🏾👍🏾. I love oatmeal raisin cookies. Your recipe is the best. Thanks for the tip about letting the cookies finish cooking out of the oven. I appreciate it. Take care ✌🏾
Just made these, the smell in my kitchen and the drooling family members says it all. I need to double the recipe from now on, LOL. These are amazing! The molasses adds a great touch! I did add a bit more cinnamon, and I also added a 1/4 tsp. nutmeg to the dry ingredients.
These cookies turn out great. Love oatmeal raisin cookies. They have been my favorites as long as I can remember. I can cook anything, but I am not a great baker. But these were easy and turned out so good. It's just about perfect.
I tried this recipe out and added a little more cinnamon and added 1/2 tsp of maple extract.. chilled my tester dough for like 2 hours and chilled the rest overnight and OMG! I ate my tester cookies SOO fast 🤣🤣 thanks!
I'm a 63 year old single man and I was looking for that one snack as to replace my sweet tooth store runs. These are awesome! Thank you 😊 💓 My guilt is gone from accumulating plastic containers 😅
OMG…I am not a fan of oatmeal cookies. I’ve never had one I cared for. So I’ve never made them. However, yours looked so good, I had to try. I made these today, and they are the best I’ve ever had. My husband just raved about them. Thank you for sharing.❤❤ Yum Yum
10/15/23: I made these yesterday and WOW, they came out incredible, moist, chewy and full of flavor. Everyone in my family loved them. I was amazed as to how much the recipe yielded. Thanks again. I will be making these again. 😊
Just made your cookies there are delicious very soft and very tasty I didn’t put the raisins Were not crazy about it thank you so much for sharing ♥️👏🇨🇦you are the best for baking everything I bake from you is so good 😊 ❤
I made these tonight and so love them I added also 2 tablespoons of Molasses instead of one because I love it. Also added toasted coconut half cup and 2 drops coconut flavoring.. So So good :) thank you for great recipe
Just made these over the weekend and they were amazing! I used rice flour instead of cornstarch (not available) and also accidentally brought sultanas but didn't make any difference still delicious. Thanks for the great recipe.
I made this recipe Without molasses because I got it off the Internet, the cookies came out delicious, I did, however, substitute all purpose flour with oatmeal, flour, and almond flour mix because I wanted even a healthier cookie. They were excellent. I’m going to keep the recipe forever.
10/14/23: Overall, your recipe comes across like these will be the bomb when I make them! I’ve followed other recipes from you before and they’ve always been a hit. However, in reading some of the other posts for this recipe, I will increase the cinnamon and molasses (and a little nutmeg!), only cause a few seemed to have done the same, liked it, and I’m going to take my chances in trusting it. Thank you for sharing this recipe and I’ll let you know how mine turned out. I’m excited. 😋
“I have had oatmeal raisin cookies from people far and wide- I live by a bunch of grandmas with THEIR grandma’s recipes that they’ve shared with me- and these are by far THE BEST ones I’ve ever had.” -a friend who trades their blue-ribbon BBQ specifically for oatmeal raisin cookies Short story short… our friend is known for hooking people up with a batch of their famous BBQ with only one expectation in return: oatmeal raisin cookies (ORC). These are obvi their favorite and they’ve been receiving “payment” in ORC for years now. I love to bake but didn’t have an ORC recipe handy and thus, had to look one up online. I followed this one to a T and they came out, well… “the best they’ve ever had.” !! NOT A RAISIN PERSON EITHER?! … I made another batch and substituted the raisins with 1 cup chocolate chips + 1 cup shredded coconut… can’t do chocolate? I made another batch with 1 cup of chopped Walnuts + 1 cup shredded coconut… YUM. Hope this honest review helps someone choose this recipe over another, you will NOT be disappointed. Much love from Montucky
Hello Sugar Spun, I love Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, And that looks Amazing good. For sure I 'm going to make these, Your a Great Baker, 👍👍👍 God Bless you 🙏🙏
Great recipe. I only had salted butter so I reduced the salt to a Scant 1/4 tsp. Also I didn't melt the butter, I just used room temperature butter. I did not refrigerate dough. However with these minor changes, it was a very good tasting chewy cookie recipe. PS. My hubby isn't fond of raisins either so I just substituted walnuts.
Made your cookies today, I will confess even though I watched you twice make and bake these cookies I was still a little Leary about using all butter in the cookies, lol didn’t want to trust the process because I made a batch of some really bad no bake cookies last night. Soooo I will confess I used 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup butter crisco melted. Yeah I know and I’m one of those people that say (you changed the recipe no wonder it didn’t turn out) but by doing this it took the fridge step out, after scooping had to also slightly pat down and they turned out to be a better recipe than mine, so this is my new recipe thank you again. Loved the molasses idea, even though personally I could not taste it, but my hubby said he did…maybe he did….1 tablespoon in all that batter…lol anywho, thank you again for a great perfected recipe…
Cindy speaking ( Barrys wife). Cookies look great. Just a small question.... do you think I could use dried cranberries instead of raisons in that recipe? Thank you for sharing your recipes. 👍
I’ve made oatmeal cookies with dried cranberries for years. It’s a great change of pace from raisins. I’ve also made them with butterscotch chips - yummmmmm!!!!
I really wanted you to break open the cookie at the end because you had talked about how not to overtake the center and let finish on pan while cooling to ensure it’s soft in center. It would have been nice to see the center of yours.
I melted n browned my butter great taste but mine came out crumbly not chewy n I used quick oats that’s all I had no rolled oats in pantry ? Can that be the problem they look rustic lol pretty but not the chewy I wanted ☹️
I'm back! I'm thinking as far as sweets, these are next on my list of your recipes. 🙂 As always I will let you know what I think, oh and just to close out the CC cookies, yes, they did replace my ex favorite chocolate chip recipe. You win again. Well, it's obviously a win/win situation. 😋
@@luxuryqueen42 not yet but i saved the recipe... i actually made a BOMB zucchini coconut quick bread last night, to use up my zucchini.. it was soooooo good! but the cookies i will be making.. !
I would actually recommend making my regular oatmeal cookies and adding raisins to them. The video is right above the description if you need it. You can add 1.5 cups of raisins in. :) sugarspunrun.com/big-soft-oatmeal-cookies/
I have made many of your lovely recipes over the past few years and over all I loved all. But I know from experience that I need to cut down the amount of sugar to about 2/3. I made your oatmeal raisin cookies and I love them but will alter a few things with my next batch: Cut sugar down to half. Cut baking soda to half ( I didn’t like the slight taste of the baking soda in the cookies) Bake them a few minutes longer until they’re golden brown. Perfect with home made vanilla ice cream!
Add white chocolate chips. Oatmeal raisin white chocolate chip. So good. Or replace the raisin with dried cranberry. White chocolate cranberry cookies. Soo good.
I think you should add a cup of chocolate chips and about 2/3 cups of macadamia nuts better roasted and broke up and plus you use the Quaker quick oats not the old fashioned oats
why do you use melted butter for this recipe?? I've only ever used melted butter for recipes like chocolate chip cookies, have u tried the difference between melted and soft butter for this recipe???
