Advice: Being single at 28, I get a lot of “why aren’t you dating, when are you going to settle down? Isn’t it a bit selfish to have not settled and started having children?” I always think it’s inappropriate to ask things like this. Luckily it’s never immediate family, because they are SOO supportive. I have just begun saying “I haven’t found anyone who can keep up, yet.” I don’t want to settle. I think in this regard, and SO many other circumstances, family can be well-meaning, even though it ends up just being uncomfortable. Give them the benefit of the doubt, try to just let it roll of your shoulders, love them anyway. 9. Favourite song from Michael Buble's christmas album is probably "Holly Jolly Christmas" 3. Favourite Christmas movie is either The Grinch or The Greatest Store in the World. 4. Best gift I've ever received is probably my BMX which I actually got last year or my Nintendo Wii which I got when I was 11 years old I think. 5. My Christmas wish for someone is to just try and wake up happy and enjoy every moment of life. 6. My favourite dish for Christmas Dinner is, Turkey, Beef, Roast Potatoes, Stuffing, Yorkshire puddings and pigs n' blanket (yeah I'm not a big veggie lover or a fan of gravy) 7. How i make my gravy is use the juices from the meat. Add some water from your veggies, make a slurry with a little flour and water. Add some of the slurry and cook that out add more if needed. Then i add gravy browning. And hey preato i have gravy. Season well and serve.

I canT remember all the questions, but my fave dinner part is pigs in blankets, stuffing, bread sauce &turkey, so a wee tip for your roasties, heat some goose fat till smoking hot then tip the tatties in and whack them back in, doing them in oil takes forever. I've been cooking our Christmas dinner for 22 years now and only figured out in the last 5 or 6 years goose fat is the absolute best for roast tatties xx

The secret to gravy is whatever thickener you’re using, mix it with either cool stock or just water first and then add it to the hot liquid and that way you won’t get lumps. (Mix with enough liquid to make a thick slurry) But if you do get lumps, here’s a secret trick I learned in culinary school: blend it and then you strain it and voila!
Ah yay you answered my question! My favourite Xmas dish is red cabbage, I think it’s a bit niche as it doesn’t feature on many peoples Christmas plate! It’s so warming and my Nanny makes it each year so it is the best tradition! x
