i went to montreal in my early twenties and now i'm 75 the bacillica is still exactly as I saw it over 50 years ago beautifull and magnificent a wonder full piece of architecture
Just so you know: Montreal _has_ pretty things, and has picturesque areas. But other parts look like... a 21st century city. With extra pot holes & orange cones. And more traffic than road lanes.
Another famous religious site in Quebe is the Ste-Anne Basilica in Beaupré near Quebec City. This is a site of pligrimage to Ste-Anne. The Basilica actually contains two churches in the same building; a grand expansive one on the first floor and a second in the basement. Be sure to visit both. The one in the basement is dedicated to the first nations people of Canada.
I don't particularly agree with people saying Montreal is so like Europe. In my view Montreal is better, cleaner, more contrasting than most European Cities. Montreal, Quebec, and Canada are beyond Europe, they are Canada which is a truly great achievement in North America and the world. We don't need the contrast, come see that Montreal is better.
Literally days ago I had just found out that before the fire the Notre-Dame cathedral was the most visited building in Europe with 12 million people every year. I thought at the time that our own Notre-Dame might have two or three million visitors per year until I learned in this magnificent video that it actually has almost as many as Paris with 11 million visitors. That's incredible. It must be a mistake because I can't believe it even though I know it's true.
It's a beautiful Church but there's also the Saint-Joseph Oratory, something about it being on top of the hill and the stairs that lead up to the Church make it very special for me.
My husband and i lost over $300k to a scammer. Luckily for us my daughter was introduced to a hacker who helped us recover 90% of our money . Sadly the scammer had spent 10% of the money but still grateful we were able to recover 90% of our money through the help of the hacker. Y'all be careful out there The world is a cruel place. I give all the glory to Jesus for not allowing my family go bankrupt. Thank you Jesus. JESUS IS THE GREATEST ❤❤❤
No matter how pretty or ugly, one should NEVER EVER have to pay to enter the House of Our Lord! Remember what Jesus said to the "money traders"? Just to remind the people, "My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves." Whoever ordered this should be ashamed of themselves. There will be a price to pay for this gross sin.
@@MonikaMera-i7o A few years ago, in the middle of the day, I wanted to go in and see the place. "You have to pay", said the lady at the front door. Sometimes, I go inside a church just to have some peace, and pray. One shouldn't have to do that, as per Jesus. A church should be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and no fee to get in. It's the House of God. Who are we to demand money to go into the House of God?!
@@MonikaMera-i7o Good. maybe they changed. I've been to many churches/cathedrals in Europe and Israel. Not one, NOT ONCE was I asked to pay to get in to look-and-see or take part in the Mass. Not at the St, Peters in Vatican, not at the St. Stephens in Vienna, not at the The Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, not anywhere. Do people in Montreal feel that they are so special that you had to pay to go to a church? God help them, that's all I can say!
