What an adorable bag! I almost bought that pattern.... another time! I bought the Vivian & Brooklyn patterns instead. I was so surprised at how completely different a bag looks using different hardware and fabrics. It can turn an "ok" bag into something amazing. I have just started watching and made my first bag a week ago, so I am still learning. But I definitely plan on investing in rivets and a press down the road.
Just finished my Lola bag by Swoon thanks to your great tutorial with tips etc. My main fabric was stretch jersey, interfaced with F220, Decovil heavy for the base interfacing on mirror look PVC (has a soft back) and mirror-look handles, front pocket trim and tabs. The lining was a thick waterproof fabric. The bag took a bit of muscle to turn through but it went OK and the bag had enough structure to stand up in perfect shape. Thanks for letting me share your journey with this bag - the most professional-looking bag I’ve made so far.
I am now the very proud maker of a Lola bag. I would not have been able to do this without your guidance. But, I want you to watch the pocket installation by Simply Classic. Hers is the best way to put in that from pocket. My goal is to make an all vinyl Lola lined with cotton.
I have been studying this pattern for days now and I love your teaching. I’m all in. I’m really paying attention to the interfacing and the connectors.
Why am I not surprised that it has been claimed, it's absolutely beautiful 😍 I have this pattern for a very long time, now I have to make it 🤗 U stike again Jess! N the list goes on 😆 Thanks a mil
Thanks much. I made this today. My first bag with cotton Lycra and I love it! I extended the exterior zipper pocket to fit my phone. Very clear and concise pattern at a great price. Highly recommend. Love the hidden tabs technique and the security and bling of the rivets. Another Jess home run!
I just ordered a Janome HD9 ….. I can’t wait to make some bags with it. Thanks for the tutorial - I’d never have thought of trying this bag but you make it seem achievable
Love, love, love this video, pattern and your fabric choices. You make it look so easy. I think this might be the only Swoon pattern I don't have, so off to buy. I'm going to try it with cotton lycra. I'll let you know how it goes.
I love your tutorials. However I think Swoon could improve their front zipper installation instructions. I could barely catch the pocket to the remaining zipper. Had to scrap it and start over. And just so you know 😃 when I want to make a new pattern I always look to see if you did a vid on it. Good job Jess!!
I just made this twice. One has silver circle handles from Sallie Tomato . It I used the Disney Princesses in pallet grey toile fabric and the lining is a 100 percent polyester that I did a sublimation of the various characters of the different people incensed moves. You also found a clip are if a young girl with long blond hair that would have passed as my niece. It was a gift for her special s day so I had to put her monogram and a wish list quote on her slip pocket. I think it would be right up your alley.
Jess, how do you change out your blades and make the blade stay?? I have this cutter too for the fine points of cutting, but I cannot get the blade to stay in. Any help would be wonderful. Loved the video, I bought this pattern a while ago. I really like it. Thanks Jess. Have a wonderful day
Great video Jess. Does anyone know how to steam the vinyl that she mentioned in the video? I'm guessing it isn't an issue but I'm starting this bag soon and am unsure about that part of it. Thank you!
Not sure if you see these questions or not but I have a juli 2010Q workhorse like you do how does it do with the fusible interfacing that you use on the fabric and also how does it do on different zipper tapes
Been wondering for over a year where you get your metal bag tags? As I want to make my own bags and the metal bag tags just add that little something extra, rather than a sew in label!
Jess do you know what the name of the nightmare before Christmas fabric that is?? I would love to find some but I am not sure of the name of it... Thanks for the tutorial
It’s from Knitorious! I have a link the description for the shop, but it’s not always available. She runs a lot of prints in May, so I preorder and stock up then 😉
What is the most affordable rivet press to buy and where? Im a home sewer wanting to have rivets on my bag but not a reseller needing high quality. Help!
Omg, I need to make this bag lol. What is the name of the Star wars fabric? And which site did you get it from? Strangely enough I have both a SS only semi-industrial (Pfaff twin to the Janome), but I also have an older Pfaff Triptronic 2040 that seems to be way more powerful for going through super thick layers than even the semi-industrial. Can't beat some of these older machines and that Duel feed walking foot.
So that is the floral wars, it’s not currently available. They do an amazing preorder with SO many beautiful options every May, so that’s when I stock up.
@@traceytowner176 yes as Jess replied, it is not a current retail. They only do preorders for may 4th. You can try to find some in the BTS fb group periodically
Just ordered the pattern after watching this tutorial! If I put a zippered pocket in the lining, I could use the method where you sew up the entire bag (leaving the bottom of the zipper pocket open), then pull the whole bag through the pocket, right??
@@OklaRoots Thanks! I love your tutorials. They make me feel like I can make whatever you’re making if I just follow along with you. I appreciate that (and you).
