The world looks like how its supposed to, like the old game but better. But the amount of bugs and horrible horrible character design I have seen in 10 minutes of gameplay is crazy

And all the nice lighting techniques are from brute force Unreal Engine 4 lighting, which looks nice, but just is so artificial and it shows low effort, no art, no consistency, no anything. This better serves as a tech demo.
That's because rest of the game is kinda doodoo. You had all these great characters and awesome setting in 90's Los Angeles gang wars, but rest of the game is government agencies and boring Chinese mafias in san fransisco and vegas.

Rockstar is welcoming Take Two now, everything before Online was only their business since they were so profitable. Take Two didn't made a lot of decissions in Rockstar back in the era, at least before Online. Since the powerhouses of Rockstar left the company, they're not in the greatest of shapes.

The Definitive Edition has truly made me appreciate the classic game. By not by buying the Definitive Edition and instead digging out my PS2 and playing the actual definitive edition.
The "old" definitive edition (PC) was buggy as hell though... The cars would be bugged in a way that made it like it was using brakes + awful noises and visual bugs I still have San Andreas on PS2 but the disc has been damaged, the game crashes when we finish saving the first girlfriend... Big yikes for me
@@Fluffee102 No i'm talking about the version before that. The cars when driving were half accelerating half stopping all the time and I could see a weird glitch where I saw lines under the map. And it happened on Vice City as well when I tried playing it 3 years ago.
Locking the FPS can help in some cases. For example: If it's programmed poorly, it could be dedicating and insane amount of resources rendering/calculating certain things more than it needs to. So your GPU or CPU is being hogged and not allowing it to reach the frame rate. By limiting the FPS with the in game settings, you are forcing it to be distributed as intended. It could be updating lighting, doing physics calculations, calculating NPC path finding, or really anything an absurd amount of times without you knowing it.
you could just tell there's something wrong with Rockstar when Dan Houser, Lazlow and a lot of the great developers that designed all these great games left the company, but holyshit, they fell off so fast, GTA 6 is probably gonna be garbage.

I’m so disappointed in this game and rockstar. GTA SA was one of the biggest technological improvements a game has ever seen at that time and is a huge part of so many people’s childhoods. This was supposed to be the remake to have it all come back. The remake where rockstar finally proved they are capable of not fucking up on everything they do and this is honestly just sad. The entire legacy of the early GTA games was completely ruined here because of a shitty greedy company. Edit: Sorry for saying remake, i meant remaster

the sad thing about this definitive edition is that i thought san andreas looked great and really like the added weapon wheel and such. but then i found out the modders already did this years ago and with mods the city looks much better adding lots of little details that makes SA feel real. if you havent seen the remastered gta san andreas mod video from internet rob, this is what i would imagine the definitive edition would look. embarrasing from t2 and r*

Right now the game is simply unplayable and I don’t see that changing since rockstar didn’t do it themselves as we know.
@@tabakatinjimif rockstar did it themselves it would've been a full remake that would've taken 4 or more years at least to make and would detract development time from gta 6 so I think they just offloaded development of this to another company to focus on their bigger game that they've been working on for longer like gearbox did with alien colonial Marines and borderlands 2
I once had a wish. When I was 4 years old I used to play GTA 3 on my brother's Playstation 2. (2002) I loved it and then I also had thr opportunity to play VC and SA in their respective years. When I grew 15 I got a chance to revisit GTA 3 on the same Playstation 2 (still works and preserved if you're wondering), and I promised myself to buy the trilogy with on my first pay day. The GTA Trilogy: DE would've been almost perfect timing (about a couple months late), but for once I remembered what I had promised. I had seemingly endless joy, a classic golden memory of my childhood was about to be revived. Only for me to come across this dissapointment. I still have a hard time believing R* would just neglect the games that led them to their ultimate glory today, treat them as cash cows. Deeply hurts me.
05:44 - I always wished there was an option to ask the other character to drive. Have some of them be open to driving and others out right not knowing how to drive and declining. It could add some interesting story elements.

TheProfessional (another gta channel on RU-vid) encountered a glitch where in the mission when you go to kill ryder he drives off in a boat saying "I'm a genius" (as scripted) before crashing into a rock and drowning himself....(not scripted) Can't think of a better metaphor for the way rockstar or take two thought.
I got so excited for this release, normaly i ignore people talking shit about a game, and then find myself enjoying many games i never thought i could, but i'm so glad i heard people this time, this stinks greedy and souless, wich is weird, because San Andreas always smells like love and care, this trilogy is very disrespectful, the fans and talented moders, they didn't deserve any of that
@Paulo Hernanndizz they’ve always been both and its kind of a double edged sword imo. Yea there’s some that you get for “pressing any button” but there are others like “collect 300 pieces of paper” or “win a game on every multiplayer mode with every character while using a knife and crouching while blindfolded and balancing on 3 chairs hanging over a drop of atleast 40 feet” There’s a balance between the two but they can have a bit of both as well; like GTA SA has story mode achievements but it also i has some for the collectibles, reaching max/minimum weight and even completing some missions a certain way like completing the one where you steal the jet pack without raising the alarm.
Rockstar is clearly finished. When most of the prominent figures that spearheaded the company have all left, it's only a matter of time until they get truly desperate as they make their way to EA status of bad.

I bought this game on the day it came out. The plan was to complete all three games in order and have a great time. I played the first GTA for about 20 minutes and skipped to Vice City. I watched the altered intro to Vice City and switched to San Andreas in disgust. Played San Andrea's for about 30 minutes before getting bored and playing something else entirely. So for £59 I got less than an hour worth of disappointing play time...lol.

They really dropped the ball on the end of his story. I get that the Va was leaving but c'mon, Ryder showed nothing that implied he would betray CJ. Big smoke was showing from the start that he would betray CJ (such as ordering such a large meal it allows the rival gang go show up and he was eating instead of attacking) but Ryder? He was a genuine man

Like the whole conversation where Ryder is the one that tells CJ and Sweet about the Green Sabre that was used in the drive by, the multiple times Ryder actively helped you kill Ballas when they tried to sell on Grove Street's turf, the way Ryder came up with the most ways to arm and fund Grove Street to defend themselves from attacks, and the way he's the first one to call out Big Smoke for not helping fight off the Ballas during the Drive Thru mission. Thinking back, he probably did the most to make sure Grove Street came out on top. So it REALLY comes out of left field when he stabs CJ and Sweet in the back. Honestly, they should've just recast the VA, because their rewrites completely butchered his character.

I remeber when GTA changed from topdown to 3D, that shit was mind blowing! However, looking back at how dogshit it really was, even in the remastered version, makes me wonder where games will go in another 20 years, and we look back at GTA 5 in the same way. We'll probably be plugging our brains into the PC by then all Matrix style or some shit.
I mean if it works for prosthetics, it's only a matter of time before we can use robotic bodies for the more dangerous tasks. The entertainment industry will probably follow. That or they make motion capture affordable and use it as controller for games which, let's be honest, would be awesome.
@Chandler Burse Yes and no. If I remember correctly, Kinect allow you to capture only specific point (so no expressions for example) and only few (position of specific/critical points) in 2 axes. What most of the gaming industry is doing motion capture in 3 axes.

What are you talking about realistically? This isn't the first time they released this. It's the third time they release this exact port with a few tweaks.
The trilogy is a cash grab not even made by Rockstar, they just outsourced it to some third party studio. The next AAA Rockstar game will be very high production for sure, but it's still sad that Rockstar doesn't care about their classics
That's the thing with Rockstar, they release their *main* games extremely far from each other and they always turn out good, like RDR2. They don't give a shit about ports tho, Rockstar already butchered San Andreas in the past, but at least we're giving them shit for it this time lol
I’m definitely in the minority because I love this entire remastered trilogy 😅 it feels so good to relive some of my all time favorite classic games, even if they are a lil buggy
The game looks like a upgrade from the start, but the longer you play you’ll realize they somehow made the game look 10x worse than the original other than the frame rate and pixels
Hi matt i just wanna say I love your videos you never fail to disappoint lifting my emotions to a better state. For example my dog just died at 13 years old in my dads arms 2 hours ago. She was unwell a couple of days prior but now she is finally at peace. Just came here to say your content is entertaining and calming to those in need of happiness and seeing the bright side to things. Some clothes are bugged. They removed the “Rimmers” red & white letterman jacket. The Broadway has a broken bumper you can buy at the lowrider garage. The Admiral doesn’t turn white when selected but silver. Carl’s sister isn’t detailed at all. Cars wheel hubcaps have texture glitches. The audio levels can’t be adjusted for sounds and is to simplistic. Barely any control and the pistol shots take over any sounds and become repetitive asf. Smokes glasses when he attacks Mexicans with a baseball bat are glitched when he’s in the car in the cutscene. Smoke’s car has a random license plate in front of his car in cutscenes but not in gameplay and it looks bad in cutscenes so why the addition now. Certain haircuts are missing detail for CJ. Example being “Detail Cut” on his sideburns. The brightness in game for characters makes them too dark to see in cutscenes. Character changes like Rosenberg and Tommy’s pearl necklace on his original outfit have been changed. (There’s a lack of integrity for the original work.) Cars hitting the water in vice city produce no effects like the original which are simple to add in so why were they left out. The San Andreas Start screen looks cheap asf compared to the previous mobile port. (The only good addition this company made previously to the title) Liberty City roads are too clean and there’s not enough trash around. The gritty punk vibes from these games has been toned down a lot. The car sounds aren’t smooth loops. The original guns were supposed to be shiny but like the Mac are plain black like from GTA IV or something. Original San Andreas had two ammo clip pieces taped together with one loaded in the Mac. Sometimes the characters lips during gameplay don’t move like they would in the original when in dialogue.
Everyone: yay San andreas came out Rockstar: sorry we put lots of loopholes and we basically catfished this game its not good but buy it anyway because we are greedy.
This remake is actually depressing, I'm a Multi Theft Auto player (which is GTA San Andreas online) and I'm well versed in the game, I've created my own servers before and I know basically everything about this game, the modded versions of the original game are WAY better, even versions of this game that were made by ONE person alone has been better than this remake. It seems like all they really did was change the textures of every single object and change how the targeting looks when you aim and they call it the "Definitive Edition"... This kind of thing makes you lose respect for Rockstar to the maximum.
This game advanced so much that even the AI developed telepathy. That's impressive. 28:58 He parried a motorcycle.... Like it's an RPG with max parry stats or some shit..... The game really advanced eh
