I owned a pair of the 2000’s many years ago and had the same issues you did. They were sold pretty quickly. I have several of their 1883 line and several of their Classics and they all fit very well, and the leather and detail is top notch. I wore the 1883’s with suits for work and everyday use with blue jeans. The Classics are for special occactions or when I just want a classier look.
I found a pair of 1883s, snip toe, in black in a second hand store. They were $40. Absolute pristine condition. That was two years ago, and I’m still waiting for the court summons. Because that was a steal for what these boots are.
Nice review guys! They were considered a very good quality boot for the price point at the time. Some people swear by them. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, Jeremiah & Levi. 👍
I love my Lucchese 2000 Kangaroos. The insole arch is very high and far from traditional but in a weird way I like it for a dress boot. Couldn’t wear ‘em everyday but for a night out they work.
"Hi jeremiah, this boot has both Justin, Dan post and Tony llama type I think, three in one with a nice line! The top of the boot round toe is well finished and then it's true you have to see for walking in test and see over time! I think the leather seems supple, vintage style boots know me because I have several! Good video ! "
i owned a pair of lucchese cowboy boots that looked just like the ones in your review. they fit like gloves and were a cinch pulling them on and off. i wore them for a long time and had them resoled a few times. would you say they are made more narrow than other boots? thanks for sharing your input on these beauties.
I have two pairs of Lucchese 2000 smooth ostrich boots. They are very nice boots and fit me very well. In my opinion they are a better quality boot than Lucchese 1883's, which I also own. The 2000 boot is a 3/4 welt boot unlike the 1883's which are not. They does use nails instead of lemon wood pegs in the construction. In my opinion the 1883's are way overpriced and are nowhere near the quality of Lucchese classics or Black Jack. Nice review. That's an excellent price by the way. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, I definitely like that Black Hue! I seriously doubt if that arch issue and wobbliness you encountered would be a problem for me. I'll have to take a closer look at this pair... ;-)
Very good assessment on the 2000 line but it should be noted that being a B width as you are you often run into arch issues when sizing down to a D width. I did inherit a pair of 2000s from my dad recently that are a 2 toe in a caiman tail and they actually do fit really well but as you know Im more a fan of the hard leather insole. They will be getting some wear though!
Gotta love Levi jumping the gun 😄. Some times budget is budget and it is worth spending a bit more to get a much better boot. Though compared to some lower end boots it seems better.
I was at my local boot store and saw a pair of 1883’s that had 2 double rows of pegs. The stamp said made in Mexico. Are 1883’s ever made with pegs? The store owner said it may be because of the factory. Thanks.
Great video. I am city person, no idea about boots whatsoever. My wife wants some boots and saw a pair of barely used “roper black elephant 2000) which I am considering due to price ( ice boots are really expensive). The price on these boots is $250. Is it a good buy? If not, any recommendations for that kind of budget $250
I think that guys that never wore a high end Lucchese boot or are used to wearing boots with foam insoles rather than leather and cork foot beds will dig them
Haha black is my favorite color for cowboy boots with cognac being a close second. I just like how minimal it looks and how it can be dressed up or down easily.
I only subscribe to RU-vid channels that promotes more men's black leather fashion. I am a real big fan of men's black leather fashion. So, I subscribed to u! U got 2 fu****g awesomectacular men's black leather jackets so far! Yea! Glad to hear u could dress up as the Man in Black (leather). I ain't a fan of men's human feces color leather fashion. A big thumbs down to ALL RU-vid channels promoting men's human feces color leather fashion. If a dude loves wearing human feces color leathers, it makes him real uncool. It makes him look less like a real man. It don't make him bad ass. It don't make him a stud. It don't make him a chick magnet. And the list goes on...
