I love how besides all the usual design elements inspired by the Scandinavian countryside, T Jon Mayer openly declares the front end being inspired by Boba Fett's helmet :D Not the first Star Wars influence though, though no one officially stated it, the front of the XC90 R-design was inspired by Nien Nunb ;-p
I disliked it in Tesla, but I am choosing to embrace it in the EX30 because of the high position of the speed and the regular Volvo-style blind spot indicators.
Everyone will still buy it because it will be more affordable. Did they sell less of the small Toyota Yaris because it had the speedometer in the middle? No!
Yes. I'm resigned to the fact that cars are going to be cost-cutted to have everything shoved onto a center tablet, but please keep a driver-focus with a proper instrument cluster in the traditional spot.
EX30 should be the replacement of my XC40 T5. But without cockpit display, HUD and Jalousie this car is out of the choice. After years of Volvo I will move to the Smart#1 oder 3.
Exactly this.. was looking forward to this car aswell. But this is a 100% chinese made plastic car with plastic interior and 1 single screen like a tesla.. Nothing to do with the quality that Volvo had made in the past.. I know its a cheaper option.. but atleast come with a HUD and some decent interior...
@@mrsrandommademedoit3387 Polestar 2 is also made in China. Haven’t heard much complaint on the build quality. In fact for Tesla people prefer those made in China. You’re just being a hater without even trying the car first hand
Please, give us all the options of any interior color in any configuration for an additional fee!! Not just in the ultra version for +10k on top!!!! I don't need an extra battery and all the features just to have ability to pick a light color of interior for a hot climate...
I hope this small car comes to mexico it is a way to introduce young drivers to an electric future because of the price that is going to be a bit less expensive and its a volvo what else do you want with their industry leading testing.I wish i could order and buy one
Volvo should build them in Mexico with catl batteries at scale for local and export them EVERYWHERE. If tesla makes TERAMX there many new ev only suppliers will setup shop and logistics&transportation capacity will massively improve. 🤔
I pre-ordered. Mistake not to have the handles flush with the car like Teslas. Also lack of knobs for air conditioning is not good. We have an XC60 - same screen and interface. Distracting and hard to navigate. Still looking forward to test driving the car.

I really like the design of the car, but the available colors prevent me to place an order. The no single color I would like. And a black roof is total no-go. Please bring brighter and nicer colors without black roof.
I love this car and it's a possible replacement for my current Care by Volvo subscription XC40 P6 Recharge as we no longer need a car as big as the XC40 but still want the range. However, and it's a massive however, when you configure any model on the care by Volvo website, unless you are purchasing, the monthly Subscription, lease and PCP prices are massive. I know costs have increased in the industry but how can the EX30 monthly lease price be higher than my current care by Volvo XC40 P6 recharge ultimate subscription and not just higher, significantly higher and not that much different from a brand new XC40 recharge?? The CEO of Volvo did make comments that there is plenty of money in the EX30 and it looks like he's right although not sure how he justifies the cheaper cash price against the massively inflated monthly lead / PCP costs?
@@boxcpl That what all the Volvo documentation says but apparently this is a new process and the dealership is saying that the order was never confirmed on their side and they didn't get money. Volvo is asking me for proof in the form of PDFs that I ordered and cancelled. I provided them screen shots of the emails.
@@davidroberts5600 fair enough. I myself put down the reservation and only have the credit card transaction and the email saying trim selection and further analysis would be provided come fall. Sorry to hear about your discrepancy.
Elegant design BUT we want classic colours (denim blue, pine grey for example, or classic metallic grey!), not those strange ones which does not look metallic ! (no color suits me, for the moment)
I own a Audi Q4 and I absolutely love driving it .. However, I always wanted a Volvo, so I thought this actually might be it! It turns out Volvo cares less about safety now and rather have you use a touchscreen with no physical buttons or any kind of drivers display / HUD 🙄🤦♂ WHY VOLVO?! This is such a massive dealbreaker for a lot of people and you will only end up losing customers because of this poor choice to save cost and carbon footprint.
