I engraved my stainless steel kitchen knife, but I’ve noticed these rusty spots on the letters now after washing it in the dishwasher. I recommend only hand washing if you engrave your knives (those rusty looking spots can appear even on stainless steel in dishwasher).

knives should never go in the dishwasher. dulls the blade and damages the knife. :D

Check back in a year it'll be grey unfortunately they fade away with time. It really is nice right now though.

No, the colors created on stainless steel with a diode laser typically won't fade away in a year, and most likely will remain permanent.

If only it were that fast and easy. No explanations anywhere on how to do it. And even if you get the test grid to work, the settings don't seem to work.
