First day: -Plant your parsnips, one cauliflower, one green bean starter and one potato for the spring crop bundle which will give you 20 speed-grow which will be useful when planting the strawberries to get an extra yield. Rest of season: -Parsnips are a low value crop but are useful to get quick money and your first payday, keep 5 gold parsnips for the quality bundle. Cauliflower is the best selling crop of spring, potatoes are about in the middle and green bean is close to the cauliflower’s value and only need to be planted once but you cannot walk through them. Other crops are not worth it but keep 3-5 around for gifting. Also when you see a forged items, pick them up. Get around 750 pieces of wood. Fishing is a good source of money, fish around the mountain lake next to the mines when it’s not raining and if it is raining in the river. Get a sea Urchin for a bundle Bundles: River fishing bundle -Sunfish 6am-7pm, sun only -Catfish 6am to midnight, rain only -Shad 9am-2am, rain only Lake fishing bundle -Largemouth Bass 6am-7pm -Carp Anytime -Bullheads Anytime Ocean fish bundle -sardines 6am-7pm Night fishing bundle -Bream River, 6pm-2am -Eels Ocean,4pm-2am and rain only Crab pot bundle -Oyster -Clam -Cockle -Mussel -And crab can be found by killing a stone crab in the mines Spring foraging bundle -Daffodil -Leek -Dandelion -Wild Horseradish Construction Bundle -99 wood -99 wood -99 stone -10 hardwood Exotic Foraging Bundle(need 5) -Any mushroom(3) -Any tree resin(3) -Cave Carrot Spring Crop Bundle -Potato -Cauliflower -Green Bean -Parsnip Quality Crop Bundle -5 gold quality parsnip Blacksmith’s Bundle -Copper Bar -Iron Bar -Gold Bar Geologist’s Bundle -Quartz -Earth Crystal -Fire Quartz -Frozen Tear Adventurer’s Bundle -10 bat wings -Solar essence Chef’s Bundle -Maple Syrup Dye Bundle -Red Mushroom -Sea Urchin -Aquamarine Field Research Bundle -Purple Mushroom -Frozen Geode -Chub, mountain and lake whenever Fodder Bundle -10 Hay Enchanter’s Bundle -Oak resin Week 2: -save up 2000g to buy strawberries

What do you do if you find a duplicate of one of the scrolls? I had found and donated Scroll number 2 of 4 and then found another scroll and didn't read that it was also scroll 2 so when I went to donate it I was surprised it was a duplicate. And I can't sell it or know what to do with it. Have you run across a duplicate scroll before?

If you plant Cauliflower, Green bean, Potato and a parsnip (1 of each for the bundle) on day 1 it's possible to get the reward of 20 SPEED GRO FERTILIZERS for the bundle at the day of the egg festival. Make sure to get the bundle reward after the egg festival and make sure to plant 20 strawberry seeds with the speed gro fertizilizers to get 3 harvests of strawberry instead of 2! This will make you ALOT of more moeny with just little effort. Make sure to get 2 cauliflower and 2 green bean seeds at the start because of the risk of losing one bc of crows.

I was just coming to say the same thing: get at least one cauliflower, green bean and potato and get them planted with your 15 parsnips on day one. Then, after the Egg Festival, you can run to town and complete the Spring Crops bundle for 20 speed grow. Put these on your 20 strawberries and you can get 1 extra harvest which is a LOT of extra money very early. I save the gold ones for Maru and Demetrius' birthdays in Summer.

IN ADDITION: Keep Parsnips! They are the ONLY item that is liked by almost EVERY NPC! You can blindly give a parsnip to every NPC on their birthday - so keep like 20 to 30 around for year 1. (the only exceptions to this rule are: Vincent (just give him snails), Haley/Jas who want Spring forgeable Daffodils and Abigail who likes to eat Quartz lol)

One thing I'll add that most people tend to overlook are tulips! They are very cheap (20g/bulb), grow fairly quick (6 days), and are a liked by everyone (and loved by Evelyn), only dislike by 3 people: Sebastian, George, and Clint. They make for very good gifts, especially if you throw some basic fertilizer to get more gold-quality! (You can also keep one growing near those bee houses to increase the value of your honey for no extra effort!

The only other thing I can think of is instead of selling the Seasonal Seeds, plant them (Crows don't attack these seeds so you don't have to worry about a Scarecrow for them) and befriend Caroline. She gives you the Tea Sapling recipe which, if you craft it, each sapling sells for 500G each. With a constant growth of the seasonal forage items growing you can sell quite a few for a large paycheck by the end of the season which goes a long way towards helping with other things like tool upgrades and whatnot.

I saw maybe a couple of tips that one can't learn from the wiki. However, I'm well aware that wikis are not ideal for everyone to learn gameplay; some learn better through YT videos. So to that end, this is an excellent video with so much helpful information to help new players but I'd like to add 1 more tip: don't stress yourself. Not completing everything possible in the first season or even the first year is not the end of the world or even the end of the game. I believe Stardew Valley is meant to be laidback and chill so take it easy and enjoy it.
@salmence100
@salmence100 2 года назад
I like this insight, my goal for most of this video was to make the information as easy to digest as possible, as straight outdoing the wiki in terms of information is almost impossible. I agree with the not stressing yourself, I wish I leaned into that more when making this video!

I would say, its really good to save sap, as its useful for making Fertilizer, that if you followed' this guide you should have (I think its foraging 1) , ALSO if you realized you missed a crop or two, write it down, buy the seeds of it. Honestly if you get a chest of all the seeds you either need because of Gold-star's or because you forgot/missed, it helps to visually see what you need. (Atleast for me)

theproblem with the bats is, they dont give it reliably enough to make you avoid not getting a fruit tree anyways. specially with how you basically need 4 apples and 1-2 pomegranates. this is the reason i always go for the mushroom cave instead. its not that hard to get 10k to buy them by the 20th of summer, and you could probably get away with buying them by the 23rd.

Writing this for myself as notes: Week 1: start with LOTS parsnips then go for a bit of cauliflower, or potatoes -keep 5 gold parships if u can- do not sell foragebles until level 1 and get spring seeds (sell for more), get forest farm for rare mushroom, get 50 wood, use sap on all crops , get level 4 forage by 14 of spring, fish in ocean, or RIVER IF raining.. for bundle (RIVER sunfish 6-7 in sunny weather, catfish 6-midnight in rain, chads 9am-2am in rain, brime 6pm to 2am LAKE MOUNTAIN LAKE, large mouth bass 6am-7pm, carp anytime and bullhead, OCEAN sardine 6am-7pm, eel 4pm to 2am in rain, Clam, mussel, oyster or cockle for crab bundle), FOR MINING (15-20 level at end of week if can and donate all u can, use cherry bomb to explode door to the right of mine, give lewis any gold crop for his birthday) by backpack ASAP

Week 2: Farming: potatoes and green beans for constant pay out, if u have rice shoots, plant within 3 tiles of water source, harvest but dont sell, buy strawberry seeds (15-20 and save some to plant next season but some for now), get 300 wood for bridge on beach, need sea urchin for bundle,large stumps are better for forage xp), get copper pick for lvl 40, if u put crab pot in fresh water u get a snail for vincent or else give him a daffodile for his birthday), talk to ppl during egg festival, for hailey, give a daffodile

WEEK 3: Don’t bother with sprinklers 15-18 get salmon berries which are good for energy (if u are level 4 foraging, u get 2 per bush, get stuff for spring foraging bundle if u haven’t (leek, daffodil, wild horseradish, dandelion) Craft a crab pot bundle and put bait in (at least 1) If at lvl 40 of mine, get copper one, get iron ore and save for later (get in icy levels) Pam LOVES parsnips (get gold), Shane on 20th wants BEER Or veggie if u don’t want a loved one.. When Demetrius comes, go for fruit bats since u love mining

Week 4: save money for summer seeds, plant potatoes or parsnips if need quick gold .. get a small stock of LOVEd crops because wont be able to get for a while.. BUY A APPLE TRRE since will need 4 apples for bundles. Tap trees if u can and make full use of bee houses because they thrive in summer. Maple tree for maple syrup. By the end of spring, hopefully level 50+ in mines so work for steal tools and get upgrade watering can since crops will be dying. UPGRADE AXE IF POSSIBLE and get a cope with a chicken of each brown and white if possible. For the flower dance, if u have 4 hearts with anyone, dance with someone, because will gain heart. Buy rare crow and flower tub recipe if you can. Pierre’s birthday : likes any gold quality crop or fried calemary Emily loves any gem pretty much

I’m about to hit my winter of my first year and just watching all the season guides now!!! Time is so crucial pressure in this game 😅
@EskmoFabio
@EskmoFabio 3 года назад
Don’t really worry about min/maxing and it’s all good. You can do the community bundles whenever you like, year 1, 2, etc. Basic guide is farm when you have free cash. Most profit is strawberry spring, blueberries summer, cranberries fall, and chill in winter. Get ancient fruit, use seed makers to reproduce seeds then plant in spring for easy year long profit. Go to mines for ore to upgrade tools/sprinklers. Short cash? Then just go fishing and sell fish.
@em6644
@em6644 Год назад
I used to feel the exact same way! I didn’t feel like I’d made much progress until my third year. In my first year I missed most of the festivals and hardly talked to anyone because I was having so much trouble just managing my farm. For me the time management was extremely difficult. I honestly nearly gave up on the game, but I came back after taking a break and I finally got the hang of it! It’s a lot more fun if you just do the things you like, stop worrying about completing things and allow yourself plenty of time to reach any achievements you want to get to. Or even ignore them for a while! Guides like these can help if you need some direction, but definitely pace yourself more slowly than they recommend. I know it’s easy to look at other people’s progress and compare yourself, but if you go at your own pace it makes it more fun again :)

I've noticed something interesting. While yes, it is true that you get ten seeds whenever you craft a seasonal seed packet from forageables, the chance of getting upwards of three more of each crop can essentially multiply your resulting seed packets. I planted about thirty or so and ended up with nearly three times as much seed packets from the resulting forageables.

Felt like binging some guides for fun, and while this is an older video, I haven't seen anyone really mention this: If you don't want to craft or buy crab pots for the crab pot bundle, you don't have to! You can get 4 of the items from foraging on the beach (clam, cockle, mussel, and oyster), and rock crabs in the mines have a chance of dropping a crab ^^ Since the reward for this bundle is more crab pots, and I personally rarely use them, I found this to be an easier way of finishing this bundle that saves me money and materials

I'm revisiting these videos again as I am thinking about starting a new save. I would do a bunch of things different my first year. Like I ignored fishing until winter (mistake), and didn't complete the greenhouse bundle until summer of year 2. I do remember loving field snacks and foraging to keep energy going. I regret neglecting the mine in spring and summer also. Lewis is easy to friend in summer when you can grow hot peppers. For first timers I would reccomended getting Sam to 2 hearts your first spring with joja cola, beer or pizza. As his cutscene is only viewable summer year 1. I don't think I could ever gift Shane beer again after going through all stories my first play through. Thankfully he loves hot peppers in summer. I will say for the bats vs mushroom cave, everyone has their bias on it. One youtuber swears my fruit bats every game play. Others swear by mushrooms being more consistent. Fruit bats are just a jump start on bundles for some people. But they drop irdium fruit like iridium truffles from pigs when you have the skill. Some people alternate playthroughs from mushrooms to bats. First playthrough on a standard map I did mushrooms. So I woukd try fruit bats on forest farm one day. I'm impressed you got a coop in spring. I couldn't afford it until fall.

one tip from myself is to only spend cash on potatoes until 6th day and then buy as much strawberries as you can dont think how much energy is going to take you watering all this, you will have a lot of salmonberries anyway and one good thing is to upgrade watering can quickly after it, if you plant them on 14 and lets say you water them everyday at 26 you will get your last harvest of the season so you can just upgrade it earlier which will save you time and energy

While this guide is now 3 years and 1 patch old, a lot of is still applicable to current gameplay, and I still want to bring up something about which crops are considered the most valuable. A lot of people will look at the "gold per day" values and decide which crop will net them the most money by THIS value alone. However... It should be noted that this is gold per day *per seed* If you go into Pierre's with 5k gold and decide to spend *ALL* of it on all the Parsnip you can, you walk away with 250 Parsnip seeds (which, yes, is a lot to water). If you instead spend that on Potatoes, you walk away with... 100 Potato seeds. (probably easier to manage) If you instead spend that on Cauliflower, you walk away with 62 Cauliflower seeds. 250 Parsnip at base price returns 8,750g in 4 days. 100 Potatoes at base price returns 8,000g in 6 days. (10,000 if you get the 25% average of double harvest) 63 Cauliflower at base price returns 10,850 in 12 days. This might tempt people to think that you get more money by planting Cauliflower for way less work. However, over the 12 days of the Cauliflower growing, you could re-plant the Parsnip twice... 750 Parsnip spread out over 3 plantings (12 days) at base price returns 26,250g. (Spending 5k twice more brings this down to 16,250g) 200 Potato spread out over 2 plantings at base price returns 20,000g (spending 5k a second time brings this down to 15,000g) Obviously, min-maxing isn't really the point of this guide, and people are free to play how they want, but this is something I think even min-maxers overlook - What limits you is not how much gold each seed gets you, but how much you can grow the gold in your pocket. Because how much gold you carry determines how many seeds you can buy. The result is that Parsnips, surprisingly, will get you back 5k more gold than Cauliflower! (and that's just over 12 days) Unfortunately, that is much harder to handle because of needing to eat tons of food for energy. You could probably make up the difference by spending the extra free time/energy fishing/mining instead. So... food for thought.

I'd argue that it's actually better to farm Rock Crabs for a Crab drop than crafting a Crab Pot for the non-pickup fish. They spawn earlier in the mines with weaker enemies, need to be killed for the Monster Eradication Goals (so you have to kill them anyways) and don't require materials, just a sword. Meanwhile, a Crab Pot (while guaranteed to eventually get you the shellfish you need), requires an Iron bar, which has to be mined in the frozen part of the Mines, which is an area that has tankier enemies and unless you've been lucky enough to get a Neptune's Glaive, you probably only have weak weapons. So unless you've had a really lucky run (Iron Ores through Geodes/Treasure Chests), killing a Rock Crab, while not guaranteed, is likely the fastest way to get that last fish.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this in their comment, but don't sell spring seeds. Friend Caroline to two hearts as soon as you possibly can,(should be around spring 13th,) then walk into the room behind her kitchen for her two heart event. Go about the rest of your day, then wake up and go to your mail box, there you'll find the recipe for tea saplings, these each sell for 500 a pop, much better profit than selling the seeds, replant your spring seeds, then turn the excess forageables into tea saplings, sell, and you'll be making big bucks in no time, the best part is that you can literally set hem and forget them, you can let the rain water them if you really want to, and focus on other crops. Since they're not tied to the farming skill crows won't come and eat them, and it's a lovely way to make some extra dosh on the side. If you focus on them, though, you can make an absurd amount of money to the point where you can buy all of the strawberries that you need and more, so you will have the resources and spare time to do as you please! The mushroom cave also gives you Common Mushrooms, which you can put into a seed maker to get Fall Seeds, which can be made into Tea Saplings as well, Horseradish does the same for Spring Seeds, Spice Berry produces Summer Seeds, and Winter Root produces Winter Seeds. So pick the Mushroom Cave and you'll be doing excellently in terms of passive income with zero energy investment, though bundle wise the bats are still better. Honestly since you can complete the community center any time I would worry too much about it.

Imo getting the coop in spring is a waste of money. Id hold off on the backpack until AFTER a Strawberry harvest. The days leading upto the festival should be spent getting as much money as possible to buy as many strawberries as you can. You can get 2 strawberry harvests netting you alot of money to start summer where you can grow melons and get the coop. In my playthrough i was able to buy 105 strawberry seeds from fishing in the golden areas by the forest and potato harvests.

I've recently got back into the game with a new playthrough and I am quite the try hard when it comes to min-maxing. For those that want to be more efficient, you have to keep in mind in 1.5 world seeds and daily luck influence a lot. Note: A lot of the info below is what I've learned through multiple save files. Essentially day 1 you want foraging/getting an item to donate to the museum for a quick gold turn around for extra seeds. (Note to buy 2 of each: cauliflower, potatoes, and green beans. This is so you'll have one of each before spring day 13 for the spring crops bundle. 2 in case crows get to them) We'll get back to this though. For now, plant whatever you think you can manage to get to farming lv1 on day 5 with parsnips on top of the other crops mentioned. Go southwest of the town and look for spring onions as they give you foraging experience and a quick boost to energy for extended farm work. Make sure to get 50 wood for a chest to bring with you the 2nd day. Day 2 is all about fishing as well as day 3. Typically, if you can set down a chest on the 2nd row of openings outside Willy's shack. No NPCs go there so there's no worry of them destroying the chest and you can immediately walk in after catching what you need. The chest also helps with keeping your inventory clear to continue fishing the entire day. Some people will want to catch catfish on day 3 since they come out when it rains, but usually you won't be high enough level to catch them consistently. So, continue fishing at the beach on day 3 unless you're confident in your fishing ability. If you stay at the beach, you can knock out getting eels early on without much worry. Day 4 will be tree chopping day. You should have some tree seeds growing (for field snacks) alongside forgeables for energy to work throughout the day. Check trashcans daily in case of food items too. The reason for day 4 chopping is to get 300 wood for the beach bridge. The tree chopping gets you levels in foraging and the shells will add to this on top of selling well early on for extra gold. By this point with fishing, you should also have enough for the 1st backpack upgrade. After this, days 5-12 will be more interchangeable with what you do. Rainy days go for more fishing as it gets more income for the coming event for strawberry seeds and for next season. If it's a super luck day go for mines. By day 12 you should be around level 30 in the mines (2-3 days, 10 floors per day) Depending on how far you get you should have enough copper for an upgrade during this period. If there's a rainy day prior to the 13th ensure you upgrade your watering can the day prior. Otherwise hold out on upgrades for now. By day 13 many will want the coveted strawberry seeds. But let's backtrack a bit. Remember when I said to plant 2 of each seed type day 1? This is where things become important. On day 13 you should have 1 of each, parsnip, cauliflower, potato, and green bean. After watering your crops, be sure to keep one of each in your inventory as this next part is essential. (At this point I should add it may be a good idea to buy seeds for day 13 in the days prior as this won't leave your crop field empty on the egg hunt event day) But also can use wild seeds to plant if you have them. Also be sure to hoe land and water to the sum of strawberry seeds you plan to buy. (I always do 20 for a reason) So after the event, you'll want to B-line straight for the community center to finish the spring crops bundle. In this bundle you'll have 20 speed grow which gives you 3 crop yields rather than 2 for your strawberries. After getting the speed grow, quickly make your way back and spread it along the tilled areas and plant your seeds. From this point on you'll be doing fishing (or mining) on days with anything better than neutral luck outside watering crops. On days 15-17 you'll get your 2nd (or 1st if no watering can) upgrade which will be your pickaxe. The reasoning being salmon berries. You'll want to amount a large sum of them, and hopefully by this point you'll have lv4 foraging which yields 2 berries per bush. So, during this time you can forage for the berries and other goods, even chopping wood for tree farms (tappers) when you have the copper for them. It'll also give you enough wood for a coop/barn. Then the last week will be spent watering leftover crops and trying to get to floor 80 in the mines for gold. This ensures you'll have quality sprinklers before summer to avoid excessive energy drain from watering. This also helps set you up for bigger harvest in the long run. One final thing I forgot to mention is that you can use a chair from inside your house to get past the stump near the secret woods. In doing so you won't need an upgraded axe and can collect horseradish's and mushrooms for bundles/energy. You can also kill the slimes there which may drop Mahogony seedlings to plant for hardwood. I'm not an expert at the game by any means, but I did recently finish spring of year 1 with 84k gold which outpaced my old main file of 65k. I love challenging myself and seeing how far I can get. For many it's not fun to do, but for those it does, hopefully something in this mess of words will help you out.

@@rohina2730 It's not like I'm dissuading others from using the creators tips/guide. Mine was specifically what I did in the first year of spring through multiple runs. Plenty of other people leave smaller tips and tricks on vids all the time, so I don't see why writing down my own personal experience would harm anything.
