dont't need this personally, but I'm glad someone has made a video about this topic! Anyways, hope we get a video of you redoing all those quests... I mean uh, good luck on ice telos from scratch?
Oh my gosh, Ryan! I've been typing out almost this exact thing to people for a year and a half to help new PvMers in my clan get started with perks! This is super helpful, and great analysis. You absolute LEGEND!
For enhanced Excalibur, I personally have Wise 4 + Mobile on it, it's my prefered off-hand for skilling if not using Orthen's core or Artificer's Measure.
@@Dip-it Yeah, the weapon doesn't matter. But you'd have to click under yourself when you switch in order to not run into melee distance, so most people just us a mh weapon of their style. But if you're fine with an extra click then it saves space.
A nice tip would be that armadyl/zamorak/saradomin components can be obtained free within a short time just killing minions in gwd1 for warpriest peices and then disassembling them. They drop pretty frequently so it doesn't take long to gather this way
Can also do the mjolnir miniquest, can cycle the 3 you get for sara, zammy and guthix and drop cycle them to d/a a bunch at once or just d/a them as you do it. Can get about 60ish an hour without going nuts
You mentioned getting the explosive components from hand cannon, but completely missed out on the suspicious gunpowder you can break down as well! I've done 120 ED1 runs (With lucky charms) and had one suspicious gunpowder drop which dissolves into 7 explosive components. Therefore, you could do 120 ED1 runs to get the powder per attempt... Or I guess you could use the max cash from that many runs to buy the hand cannons. Good point.
On a more serious note, for clockwork components you can also disassemble relics from elite dungeons (I can't remember if it's the common or uncommon ones) because they give a ton of clockwork components.
For anyone who's not SUPER into switchscape, you can put Caroming 4 + Planted Feet on an offhand. You give up the Equilibrium 2, but you essentially use the same switch for DS and Grico. It's not BiS, but I've found that it saves some switching. It's also expensive though, and just consider that you could just as well go for c4e2 at a similar price.
Thank you for the guide, I’m new to the skill and it’s kinda difficult to absorb the info on this skill for perks, you broke this down in a precise and very easy to understand manner.
I do enjoy when you upload video content like this, it provides a lot of really good information for essentially all walks of PvMer. I do have 3 curiosities I had during the video though: 1. If you're using dual-wield Ranged/Mage, with a Planted Feet switch, what is the purpose of having the combo PF+AS1 on the switch if the mainhand already has P6+AS1? 2. Regarding T90 Shields vs. Spirit Shields and perks. what would be considered to be more beneficial? A t90 with T4, a Spirit with T4, or a Spirit with A4? 3. Regarding defenders and perks... thoughts? I've been thinking along the lines of DPS perks on Defenders, Tank perks on Shields.
Aftershock on all your weapons if you switch scape incase you accidentally equip the wep that doesn't have AS on it, you will lose your progress towards the perk proc.
Thank you for the kind words and the great questions! 1. You don't need AS on your planted feet switch if you already have it on one of your mainhand or offhand (whichever one will also be on), but if you're ever going to also be 2h switching it can be annoying to have to equip an offhand asc + your planted feet weapon in order to ult without losing stacks. It's mostly a convenience thing 2. It totally depends on the boss! For 90% of the game I'd do a t90 shield with t4, I wouldn't recommend cading with a spirit shield as you're already reducing damage taken by 100%, the soaking does nothing in that instance and you're just giving yourself a shorter cade duration. At bosses where you want soaking + cade, if it isn't too effortful consider taking both shields; the t90 for reso and cade, the spirit shield with A4 for everything else. 3. Like the last question it really depends, I wouldn't recommend camping a defender but putting offhand perks on one for reflect + revenge can be extremely strong and I'd do that over shield perks. A defender barricade with turtling 4 will not last very long, and generally you'd be better off with a higher tier shield option Best of luck!
Damn good video bro. Thanks u! U cleared up alot for me. I got alot of perks to try to get and switch out on some weaps and armour. Thanks again for the in depth guide bro. I was always lost on how to make all the good perks and what exactly was good on what and what did what.
Love the videos! Just a small thing i've noticed, when you start a sentence the audio frequently spikes a bit, it's much more noticeable in older videos but it can be a bit annoying to listen to. No hate just a friendly fyi :) Could be my speakers tho, but I don't have this on other content creators videos
Better crackling combos: Crackling 4 undead slayer: 7x explosive, 1x undead, 1x living is just under 60% at 120 with no potion Crackling 4 venomblood: 7x explosive, 1x pestiferous, 1x healthy i just under 55% at 120 and no potion For low invention levels (low here means you need to use a potion to boost to make an ancient gizmo) Biting 2 venomblood: 6x direct, 3x healthy - about 50-60% success chance with potion Biting 2 dragonslayer: 7x direct, 2x dragonfire - over 90% chance (potion improves chance) Biting 2 undead slayer: 7x direct, 1x undead, 1x living ~80% chance Crackling combos have good odds at lower level Impatient 4: 8x zamorak at 35-41 invention - 90% chance to get (warning: will need to spam click for this as it is about 94% chance of no effect) I do not have weapon gizmo suggestions for low invention levels All of these should be replaced at 120 invention level and a higher budget
Well dammit, Ryan lol Where was this this video when I was perking all my stuff a few months ago 😂 This really did help and I definitely have some re-perking to do. Thank you, sir! 🙏
Would just mention if you're going for Aftershock 4 Equil 2, you should use a "failed" attempt as your bladed dive switch e.g i have a plain aftershock 4 on aby whip for BD
finally a fresh new and good perk guid!! most vids i found were about 1 year old, when acient gizmos got released, but i was not so sure if they were up to date. finally i can go for the fucking late game perks, cause i was too dumb to understand the wiki page with the perk guid lol PS: so the best perks for my scythe for elite dungeon or slay is precise6/ruthless1 and aftershock4/equilibrium2? or should i get some genocidal or undead slayer that would be better in the weapon instead of amour? and for my ascensions cbows for bossing like araxxi or kerapac its precise6/aftershock1 and aftershock4/equilibrium2 even if i dont have a switch weapon so far? and my range gear probably impatient4/mobile and enhanced devoted4 for the top and relentless5/crackling4 and biting4/crystalshield1? someone can say me if its really the best even if got no switch?
I would like to camp caroming 4 equilibrium 2 on my off-hand to cut down on switches since I do a lot of ED1 runs. Which perk combo would you suggest on my main-hand? Any help is appreciated!
Also for an actual question about perks whoops. If I manage to get GRICO but don’t want to be heavy switch and don’t have ECB is it worth camping caroning or just not get the perk?
More important perks for a shield / defender, and you may need to use planted feet with a shield on. This is also the reason for pf+as1 so you don’t lose aftershock stacks when using PF with a shield. It’s pretty niche stuff (telos/ice telos) but might aswell be prepared.
Yo! I notice you go over a ton of perks options but not really in detail which perks should be combed together each armor set can have two perks should I be doing biting and impatient with crackling and relentless? or biting and impatient with devoted and enhanced devoted?
invigorating can be used but it's very niche / up to personal preference if you want to sub out something else for it I had a slide for it but it got cut for time / simplicity because it's not super widely used
If you're camping masterwork spear of annihilation, would you recommend as4e2 + a lunging perk or some other perk? It's the only t92 I have and don't know what would be best
I agree with you, but I reckon Ryan meant "a beginners guide to PVM invention perks". The title mislead me as well, although I find the video very useful nevertheless.
