As a rookie hunter, these videos have taught me why I’m not seeing deer on my buddy’s dads property. I can’t wait to take all this and apply it once I get my own property and out of college.
This is awesome. My property is smaller, but also in a flat river valley area of northern Michigan. I'm determined to get the release process up and running. Even if I'm in the mecca of jack pine sandy soil country lol
This was a great video. Hunted this year for first time. But had to just hope deer come by. Trying to do something like this. Wanting to start asap to better get an idea of where deer should be
Great! We try to share helpful information on here! If you'd like for us to bid on creating a detailed site-specific habitat improvement and hunting plan for your family farm, email us at info@GrowingDeer.com. Please include the farm's location and acreage.
Reach out to your local NRCS office. They have some excellent biologists from state agency & quail forever that can write you a plan for free and integrate cost share programs to help you fund the improvements they recommend. Private consultants want you to believe they are more experienced than your state agency because they can't compete with free lol.
What technique to use depends on the current vegetation. Deer make living 0 to 4' above the ground. If you are working in an area with a closed canopy forest, some trees needed to be terminated to allow enough sun to reach the soil to to stimulate plant growth. If in a pasture, often the pasture grasses need to be terminated and burned and a cover planted or allow the native vegetation grow. These are just a few examples.
@@GrowingDeerTV I live in Texas and the native grasses and forbs are generally too short for full cover in my limited experience. Does green cover have a blend for planting cover in open areas?
How does one have Dr. Grant Woods come to your property for an assessment? Have followed for years, see things like this all the time, and see nothing on the website as to how to even get on a list. Anyone?
We don't advertise but do assist several landowners annually. There is a fee for our services based on the location, acreage, etc. If you'd like us to consider creating a habitat and hunting improvement plan for your property, send the acreage and location to info@GrowingDeer.com. Thanks!
I harvested my first buck last year. Hunted for 5 years b 4 I was successful. What helped me most was cutting a mountian bike trail to my stands. I think it helped me not leave a ton of scent around my small property (44 acres) and aloud me to quietly enter and exit without alerting every deer in the woods. Also only hunting when the wind was perfect for the location. Like Grant says it critical to approach, hunt and exit with them never knowing you where in the woods. I believe it's especially true for us who have smaller hunting properties. Hope this helps!
Nicholas = Send the information about your land to info@GrowingDeer.com and Grant will review and determine the fee to design a habitat and hunting improvement plan.
It depends on the acres, etc. Shoot us an email at info@GrowingDeer.com and tell us about your property including the size and current habitat types such as pine, hardwoods, pasture, crops, etc.
If you are having seen a documentary called... It's worse than you think...by revelations of Jesus Christ ministries I suggest you do.. all praise and glory to the most high Jesus Christ
We do that often, pending on the property size and habitat type. There's a fee for our time. If you'd like to learn more, email us at info@GrowngDeer.com and tell us the property size and location and current habitat types.
I guess I missed what you actually did to make these different areas other than draw them out on a map. You have wasted my time and tested my patience. Totally useless video without explanation of what was actually done to the property to make the bedding areas, feeding areas, and travel corridors.
